Chapter 80: Chapter 80 Her Confession Video

Su ixi ca out and first looked at Gu Wei.

That glance sent her thoughts surging like a turbulent river.

It was him again, saving her.

When she needed it the most!

For a mont, she felt the impulse to rush up to him and hug him tightly.

However, when she thought of his status, and his mother’s attitude, she suddenly shrank back.

...

“I’m alright now, thank you for saving ,” she said at the door, her tone indifferent.

Gu Wei’s eyes had brightened when he saw her opening the door, but after hearing her words and seeing her attitude, his eyes dimd again.

“Are you really alright?” he asked, standing in front of her.

“I’m fine, by the way, what about those two criminals?” Su ixi clenched her fists and asked. Just thinking about those two made her feel both hatred and fear, causing her body to tremble uncontrollably.

“Taken to the police station,” Gu Wei said.

Xiao Ding opened his mouth on the side but said nothing.

To be precise, they had notified the police to co and pick up the n because Gu Wei had beaten them half to death, it was unknown if they were crippled or not.

Gu Wei was very skilled at fighting, so injuries were not visible on the surface.

Seeing her pale face, Gu Wei hurried over to support her.

But she stepped back, avoiding him.

“Gu Wei, I want to get so sleep, maybe you should head back first.”

“I’ll stay with you tonight.”

“There’s no need.”

“Then I’ll stand guard outside for you,” Gu Wei said.

Then he went to sit in the waiting room of the clinic with Xiao Ding.

She had just gone through a terrifying ordeal, and he needed to keep watch nearby.

If she wouldn’t let him get close, then he would stay a bit further away, at least nearby.

Seeing that they had retreated to the clinic, Su ixi also closed her room door.

Lying back on the bed, she clutched at the blanket shivering.

Deep down she too hoped that he would stay, otherwise she would spend the whole night in trepidation. Knowing he was outside made her feel much more settled.

Gu Wei and Xiao Ding sat on a bench outside the clinic.

This ti, Xiao Ding completely saw it, and not only Xiao Ding, Da Liu and the others also noticed: Gu Wei truly liked Su ixi!

Xiao Ding wanted to remind Gu Wei not to make a mistake.

But at that mont, Gu Wei pulled out his wallet and then handed a photo from inside it to Xiao Ding.

Xiao Ding glanced at the photo and was imdiately surprised, “Boss, isn’t this Dr. Xiao Su?”

Xiao Ding had a special talent for rembering faces; often just a glance at a photo was enough to rember a person’s features.

But, because Gu Wei kept saying that the person in the photo was not Su ixi, he wasn’t sure.

“Boss, do you care about her because Dr. Xiao Su looks like your wife, or are Dr. Xiao Su and your wife twin sisters?”

Gu Wei gave Xiao Ding a look and snatched back the photo, “Dr. Su is my wife.”

“Really? Then why did you pretend not to recognize each other at first?”

“She doesn’t like , she wants to divorce .”

“She doesn’t like you?” Xiao Ding was puzzled for a mont, were there actually won in the world who didn’t like Major Gu?

“If she doesn’t like you, why did she marry you?”

“Impulse, I guess,” Gu Wei said.

Thinking it over, it seed like it had always been the boss who was wishful thinking.

“Dr. Su… indeed doesn’t seem to like you much.”

“I know, no need to remind ,” Gu Wei leaned back on the bench, and then told Xiao Ding, “Go buy two bottles of beer.”

“Okay, I’ll go now.”

Xiao Ding left, but his mind was still in shock.

Those two were actually married?

He hurriedly bought the beer, and when he ca back, he saw a police car parked at the entrance.

The patrols usually ca across them from ti to ti, so they were familiar.

One of the police officers jumped off the car, greeted Xiao Ding, and handed over a cell phone: “When we went to collect evidence at the scene, we found this cell phone. We’ve just charged it, and seeing that the screensaver was the victim, we thought we might as well bring it to her.”

“Okay, give it to , and I’ll pass it on to her.”

The police officer continued, “Those two guys got beaten up so badly, they haven’t woken up yet. You guys… went a bit too far.”

Xiao Ding imdiately replied, “How could we not be ruthless? Do you know who the victim is?”

“Yeah, isn’t she the female doctor who ca to support us?”

“It’s not just that. Anyway… it’s too complicated to explain to you. Just say it was self-defense if the higher-ups ask.”

“I know. Those two were habitual criminals. If we don’t show them so color, they’ll think they’re the tyrants of the world.”

Xiao Ding brought in Su ixi’s phone and handed it to Gu Wei.

“It’s Dr. Xiao Su’s phone, which our comrades from the police station have returned.”

Gu Wei took it and pressed a few buttons, and Su ixi’s photo appeared.

Xiao Ding added, “You think, Dr. Xiao Su left her phone there. Was she trying to call the police? Or was she trying to call soone for help?”

Gu Wei had received a call from the police station at the ti, informing him that a gas station employee had reported an ergency and asking if they were patrolling nearby; only then had he rushed over.

Xiao Ding spoke again, “You think, in that situation, Dr. Xiao Su might have… wanted to record so evidence or sothing? Or had sothing she wanted to say?”

Gu Wei answered, “Why not take a look and find out?”

“The phone is locked,” Xiao Ding said.

“I know the password,” Gu Wei said.

They had lived together for so long, and Su ixi often unlocked her phone in front of him; he had the password morized.

He knew looking through soone else’s phone was wrong, so he had never done it.

However, this ti, he held onto a sliver of hope—maybe she had called him?

After unlocking it, he first checked the call history. She had dialed 110 at the outset, but the call didn’t go through.

Nothing else.

Gu Wei felt a bit disappointed.

He was about to set the phone aside when a notification popped up: mory full.

mory?

Typically, what takes up space are photos and videos.

Gu Wei instinctively played the last video she had recorded, which lasted for half an hour until the phone died.

In the video, she hid behind a hill, then the two habitual criminals appeared, and after a few exchanges, Su ixi was knocked down by Ma Zi’s palm strike.

Gu Wei almost crushed the phone in his hand.

Seeing this, Xiao Ding quickly said, “Boss, we should delete this video. Or send it to the police so Dr. Su doesn’t see it and get frightened.”

Gu Wei swiftly watched the rest.

After Su ixi was dragged away by them, the footage was just blank.

He extracted the video and sent it to his own phone via her WeChat.

After he had brought up divorce last ti, Su ixi had not blocked him on WeChat; they just hadn’t communicated.

After sending it, he deleted that chat record.

Then he went back to the photo album.

There was another video in front, set against the sa hillside.

He clicked into it and saw the ssage Su ixi had recorded for him.

“… Gu Wei, that day you asked if I had ever had feelings for you. I said never, but that was a lie…”

Gu Wei watched in a daze, then turned to look at Xiao Ding.

Xiao Ding was also looking at him.

“Do you understand what she ans?” Gu Wei asked.

Xiao Ding answered, “Yeah. Dr. Xiao Su felt like sothing was going to happen to her, so she specifically recorded a video to share her feelings with you.”

“So, does that an she likes too?”

“Yeah, boss. You see, Dr. Su was crying when she said that sentence. People tend to speak truthfully before death, so it must be true.”

“Then why was she so calm when she saw after waking up?”

Xiao Ding spread his hands, “How would I know? Why don’t you ask her?”

Su ixi was briefly asleep before being awoken by a nightmare.

She dread that she was being chased by scar and Ma Zi, with Ma Zi choking her, leaving her unable to breathe…

She woke up in panic, gasping for air.

But there was soone by her side, gently patting her back.
