Chapter 18: Chapter 18: The Experienced Driver Leading the Newcor
Su ixi had never dealt with the police before, and because she was scared, she gripped his hand even tighter.
Gu Wei whispered to comfort her, “Go ahead, don’t be afraid. Just say what you need to say, I’ll be waiting outside for you.”
After Su ixi was taken away, Gu Wei went out and made a phone call.
He called soone who could handle the situation.
Inside, Su ixi was recording her statent. At first, she found the policewoman’s tone harsh and strictly professional, but after a short while, the policewoman got called out. When she ca back, her face wore a smile, and she treated Su ixi with great care like an old friend, even encouraging her to talk about the harassnt she had experienced before.
Su ixi asked, “But, those things from before are too far back. Apart from a neighbor of mine, I’m afraid I won’t find any witnesses. Besides, I’m worried about my neighbor getting retaliated against by Li Jiekai.”
The policewoman smiled, “Don’t worry about that. We, the police, will definitely protect the witnesses and ensure they won’t be retaliated against.”
So Su ixi talked about all the harassnt she had suffered in the past, including several instances when she was in middle school and high school.
After she finished, the policewoman closed her notebook and told her, “Alright, what you’ve told us is enough to put Li Jiekai behind bars for ten years.”
“Really?”
The policewoman said, “Li Jiekai does not only harass won; he’s also involved with organized cri. When we compile all the evidence, he’ll be facing at least a ten-year sentence.”
“But we’ll need evidence, right?” Su ixi was hesitant to believe it.
The policewoman gave her a surprised look and then said, “You don’t need to worry about these things; we will find the evidence.”
Even if the police couldn’t find it, there would be people who would provide solid evidence, none of which would be unjust to Li Jiekai.

When they left the police station it was 11 p.m.
Su ixi’s mood had cald down, but she was still clutching Gu Wei’s sleeve tightly.
She knew that Gu Wei would not object, after all, he needed her touch to sleep well.
Naturally, Gu Wei did not object, but instead he took her hand.
Since she did not object either, holding hands seed to beco the natural order of things.
At that mont, a police car pulled up in front of them, and the officer driving stuck his head out, “Mr. Gu…”
Gu Wei shot him a look.
The officer seed to catch on to sothing and changed his address, “Mr. Gu, you didn’t drive here, did you?”
“My car is parked near Gu Ta Park,” Gu Wei said.
The officer asked, “Do you need to give you a lift there? Or should I take you straight ho?”
Su ixi was surprised, since when did the police offer such services?
Even if they did, she wouldn’t dare to accept it.
But Gu Wei casually took his seat, and he sat behind the driver, wasn’t that seat exclusive to the boss?
She nervously got into the car and sat next to Gu Wei.
During the ride, no one spoke. After the officer dropped them off, Gu Wei thanked him before pulling Su ixi out of the car.
The night breeze was strong, and it wasn’t until it brushed against her face that Su ixi felt less tense. Sitting in the police vehicle, she felt her palms sweat.

Gu Wei led Su ixi over and then said, “I noticed you didn’t drive today, so I went and got the plates done. I also took care of the vehicle registration and everything, and it’s all in your na.”
“Mine?” Su ixi asked.
Wasn’t this car supposed to be a purchase for himself?
Gu Wei said, “Of course it’s yours. After I go back to the military, I’ll be ho less, and since you have to commute every day, it will be more convenient in your na. Besides, it’s all shared property between husband and wife, so it doesn’t make any difference whose na is on it.”
Su ixi felt a warmth in her heart, and then she began to smile.
