Eagle Eye readied himself to open the door when he felt a hand on his shoulder. Instinctively gearing up for a judo move, he caught sight of the scene outside the door. To his eyes, the door suddenly seed like a pane of glass, and outside stood Deputy Qiu, his face twisted with irritation, accompanied by two fully ard guards. Eagle Eye was no stranger to these internal security troops; carrying out executions was part of their job.
Almost instantly, Eagle Eye grasped the critical elent of the situation. It seed Dugu Han and the spy he had discovered were in cahoots, and they were planning to silence him.
"Are you going to follow , or him?" asked the voice of the man in black.
"You—" Eagle Eye was never one to dawdle; now that he understood the truth, he made his decision imdiately.
A force pulled him towards the wall, and before Eagle Eye could cry out, he felt his entire body dissolving into the wall. Right as Eagle Eye left the room, Deputy Qiu blasted the lock off the door with one shot.
Bang! The door burst open only to reveal an empty room. Deputy Qiu's eyes suddenly turned purple. He swept the room again to ensure Eagle Eye wasn't using his invisibility, then picked up his walkie-talkie.
"He's gone."
"Oh, what a sha. Issue a warrant for his imdiate arrest throughout the army. Eagle Eye has turned; execute on sight," ca Dugu Han's soft and nacing voice over the walkie-talkie.
"Welco to the Survivor Base," said the man in black, and as his voice trailed off, Eagle Eye saw a flash of light and with a whoosh, popped out of the wall entirely. Stabilizing himself after a mont of stagger due to the inertia.
He took a good look around and was astounded by the sight before him— a man-made space spanning roughly two hundred square ters, rugged and unlined with concrete. Wires and lights were exposed, and in the middle of the room, two rows of computers had about a dozen people working on them. Qin Shimoon was inspecting their status from behind.
Upon seeing Eagle Eye's sudden appearance, Qin Shimoon wasn't surprised, instead imdiately instructing him, "Hurry up and move your character out of Nine Dragons City in the ga; go to the ruined temple outside the city where our teleportation point is."
With that reminder, Eagle Eye understood. He had escaped from the base, but his character was still inside Nine Dragons City. He had to flee before the other side reacted to the unfolding events, or it would beco problematic later.
Without any hesitation, he sat down at the nearest computer and logged into the ga.
"What's the situation outside?" Qin Shimoon approached the man in black and inquired.
"Quiet," said the man in black blandly, as he logged into the ga at another computer.
About twenty minutes later, Eagle Eye had made a complete escape. The teleportation array behind the ruined temple took him straight to a small town. He found a safe place to go offline, then approached Qin Shimoon.
"Thank you," Eagle Eye said with heartfelt gratitude.
Qin Shimoon gave him a smile first, "By killing and saving you, I've repaid evil with good. You might not be aware, but the higher-ups of the Ancestral Dragon are now being replaced by mbers of the Demon Clan. And it's not just the Ancestral Dragon; leaders of various countries around the world are also being replaced one by one. Soon, the Demon Clan will wield absolute power here. This is the general you attempted to assassinate yesterday; today, he was participating in a military leadership eting." She handed him several large photos—the white-haired elder from yesterday was now actively engaging in a conference.
"I suppose I don't need to spell it out for you, do I? The Ancestral Dragon has opened a Teleportation Portal to the ga. It's not just us that can go in; they can co out, too."
"Why should I believe you?" Even though he was convinced by now, Eagle Eye still struggled to accept it.
Qin Shimoon lifted her chin toward the back of the computers where a man stood up, "Old Qiu, do you still recognize ?"
"Old Qiu? You're not dead?" Eagle Eye exclaid, stirred up.
Deputy Qiu gave a resigned smile, "So you were hoping I was dead, huh?"
At this point, Eagle Eye fully trusted Qin Shimoon. Regardless of her motives, they were now on the sa side.
"What do you need to do?"
"For now, improve your ability in the ga. I'm contacting various civil organizations to form a force capable of opposing the Ancestral Dragon. When I need you, I will give you your mission. Just make sure you complete it."
"Yes!" Eagle Eye snapped to attention, giving a crisp military salute.
