Jingci didn't tell him the exact respawn location of the Tengu Spider, but he did say it would most likely be in a cave on the mountain; with diligent searching, he was bound to find it. Still, this area seed necessary to scout first.
As he pondered, he walked towards there alongside the edge of the marsh, and gradually he reached the middle of the mountain. Hidden among the foliage, he faintly spotted a rocky cave, and Xiao Buli imdiately felt joy in his heart—it was going smoother than he had imagined.
With these thoughts in mind, he activated his Qinggong and leaped toward the cave entrance.
The mountain was perilous, not tall but with no place to safely land. Xiao Buli took each leap with great care; a single misstep and he'd fall, instantly losing over twenty health points. After a struggle, he finally reached the cave mouth, where the ground was relatively flat. It seed smoothed by so creature's frequent climbing.
Peering into the cave, Xiao Buli saw only pitch darkness; a few steps in, however, a faint light blossod from him, the glow coming from a secondary item he carried.
Though the light provided so visibility, it also made him an easy target in the dark. After a mont's thought, he decided to remove that piece of equipnt and put on Betrayer's Dark Vision. His surroundings instantly beca clear as day.
The cavern was deep and its length unknown. Xiao Buli activated Skimming Shadow Steps and carefully moved further inside.
The deeper he went, the more spacious the cave beca, and gradually, he noticed traces of spider silk on the cave walls. Excitent surged through him—clearly, there was spider activity here. Now the question was whether there were any Tengu Spiders present.
As he continued, he reached the end of the cave—a huge grotto with nothing in sight except so animal remains on the ground. Xiao Buli was puzzled. What was going on? Why wasn't there even a single monster in sight?
Lost in thought, a shadow suddenly whipped past him, and in the next instant, his health points decreased by a chunk. Alard, Xiao Buli quickly activated Ethereal Armor and looked behind him, but there was nothing there.
By heavens, Tengu Spiders could turn invisible too? As a shadow montarily stunned him, another shadow flashed by. His Ethereal Armor was struck by sothing, creating ripples—a hidden monster was present!
Xiao Buli quickly used Omniscient Eye to look around and was shocked by the sight—encircling him were about fifteen or sixteen large spiders, each the size of a grindstone, strongly opposing him.
The spiders had thin and long limbs and were exceptionally slender, with bulbous heads and abdons. At the front of their heads were clusters of sickle-like, razor-sharp limbs—Sickle Feet. A pitch-black color covered their bodies—they were Shadow Spiders!
Xiao Buli was both thrilled and alard. Thrilled because he needed a silk sac from the Shadow Spiders and had coincidentally encountered them. Alard because dealing with so many might prove challenging.
However, his ntality was still caught in past experiences of running dungeons; he didn't feel the dozen monsters before him posed any real threat. At most, they were rely troubleso. In a blink, another Shadow Spider lunged at him. This ti he saw it clearly.
The mont its sickle-like limb slashed towards him, he abruptly perford Chaotic Shadow Split; his true body and the illusion leaped in exactly opposite directions. Yet the Shadow Spider seed to have locked on to his true form, pouncing at him and slicing down. Another wave splashed against the Ethereal Armor.
Xiao Buli was taken aback; it seed the Shadow Spiders could ignore invisibility and illusions. It appeared he had no choice but to fight head-on.
Sunfire Sword Qi! Xiao Buli's Blood Drinking Sword suddenly blazed with a scorching light. This action seed to poke a hornet's nest, with the spiders uniformly retreating before swarming in attack.
Damn, not good! Xiao Buli hurriedly unleashed a powerful move,
Ultimate Skill—Wind Rolls The Scattered Clouds! A crimson sword light beca a whirlwind sweeping towards the densest cluster of monsters. He thought this move would kill at least three to five spiders, or at least seriously wound most of them, but the Shadow Spiders reacted in an instant, leaping away in all directions.
Their jumping ability was astonishing, covering five to six ters in a bound and thereby evading Xiao Buli's attack. Only the spider that charged closest didn't escape in ti and was caught directly, losing more than half of its health.
Xiao Buli had never encountered such a situation before. As the heavily injured spider turned to flee, and four others surrounded him, he gritted his teeth and braved a few hits, landing several strikes to kill the wounded spider. The mont it died, his Ethereal Armor was breached.
Such high attack power! Xiao Buli was increasingly shocked and hurriedly began casting to replenish his shield. But a barrage of attacks interrupted his spell-casting. Only then did Xiao Buli realize that although the Shadow Spiders didn't hit very hard, losing only about eighteen health points per hit, their attack speed was terrifyingly fast.
They could strike at least four to five tis in a second. Once his shield broke, there was no ti to activate another Ethereal Armor.
