[Margaret’s Perspective]

Levi’s words were not directed at . The werewolf behind him ca up, yanked up from the ground with such brutality that it seed as though he wanted to strangle alive!

"Do you intend to kill her just by yanking? Look at her, fragile as a reed, about to lose her life at any mont. Can you lighten up a bit? She is the Lycan Queen, after all. If you kill her now, aren’t you afraid that Donald will go insane and crush you to death?"

As Levi bellowed, the grip of the werewolf holding loosened slightly. He cast a wary glance and snorted coldly before continuing to drag forward.

I could feel Levi’s gaze on my back, making shiver involuntarily. I stumbled, and they tossed into a low shack!

I was relieved that there was a layer of straw on the floor of the shack, so I wasn’t thrown directly onto the ground. My child was still too fragile to withstand any more turmoil.

"Margaret? Is that you?"

Due to the poor lighting in the shack, I hadn’t noticed another person lying there. His sudden voice gave quite the scare.

"Brand? How co you’re here too? Are you hurt?" I asked sowhat uncertainly, the sll of blood tainting the air of the shack tightening my voice with tension.

Brand seed to shift his body, his head and upper body erging into a dimly lit area. After managing a few muffled noises, he responded, "I’m alright. How are you? I vaguely heard those people talking. Were you hard?"

Automatically, I shook my head, then realizing Brand couldn’t see , I spoke out, "No, I’m not injured. What about the others? Where are Lisa and Louis? Why aren’t they with you?"

Brand went silent after my question, the tension making my muscles clench in anticipation.

"Where are they?" I closed my eyes and asked again, more sternly.

Brand took a deep breath, pressed his head against the wall, and slowly sat up straight. His expression was obscured by the dim light, but his voice gradually continued, "Louis was tortured by them for two hours and then thrown into the sea right before we arrived at the island! As for Lisa..."

My heart ached sharply, and the pain made it difficult to speak, but luckily Brand did not need my further prompting. After a few seconds of pause, he continued.

"Lisa was slapped around by them as we left that small town. She hit her head on the corner of a wall and got a big gash... She passed out right there. Those people, fearing she wouldn’t wake up and would anger the people on the island, left her behind. I have no idea how she is now."

Brand spoke slowly, his voice saturated with sorrow and guilt, as if he was on the verge of breaking apart.

I opened my mouth to say sothing, but before I could speak, I heard Brand’s muffled sobbing, which made my heart tremble, and a faint pain surged in my abdon.

"It’ll be alright, Brand. Little Lisa is so adorable, the Moon goddess wouldn’t bear to see her suffer! Maybe she has already been rescued by now. Not being brought to the island might be a blessing. Donald will surely find a way to save us all once he gets the news."

"Louis... perhaps I shouldn’t have let him lead the group to take you all ho. It’s my fault he and the other Lycans died."

Tears slid uncontrollably down my cheeks as I lay trembling slightly on the ground.

Brand stifled his crying and gave a kinship-in-suffering wry smile, "We are in a real ss now, not knowing when the Lycan King or my father will co to save us. Margaret, do you think we can make it off this island alive?"

Despite my deep grief for the loss of my friends, I never doubted the answer to Brand’s question. Donald would never give up on . He must be racking his brains to track my whereabouts. He was so smart and astute that conquering the difficulty of reaching the island was rely a matter of ti for him.

I moved my uninjured shoulder, leaned against the wall to sit up, breathed out a heavy sigh, and looked towards Brand, saying softly, "We can, we will definitely make it back alive. I have a lot of faith in Donald."

At that, Brand also t my gaze, a glint of light in his eyes, and nodded before taking a sharp breath, "Are you alright? I see you’re soaking wet."

I knew what Brand was hinting at, and my face grew stern as I lowered my voice, "I’m fine. From now on, let’s not talk about my situation nor what they might do to next. Don’t let them catch on, alright? By not saying anything, you’re helping to protect her. Do you understand?"

Brand’s face turned serious at my words, and he nodded solemnly, "I understand. Don’t worry, I’ll keep you both safe."

I let out a soft chuckle, twisting my bound hands.

"Does it make you uncomfortable being tied up like that? Wait for , okay? I’m about to break the rope on my hands. Once I’m free, I’ll help you loosen yours!"

At those words, I was taken aback. Then I asked, "What are you using to wear down the ropes? Don’t let them find out."
