[Margaret’s perspective]

In the dim light, I saw Eric’s face drenched in cold sweat; his lips were too pale. I paused and then continued, "Eric, you and Mark get in the car with . Everyone else hurry up and get in, we’re leaving."

Hearing my voice seed to relax Eric. He crouched down next to , wincing as he moved, as if pulling at a wound that had not yet healed, his teeth clenched with sweat pouring out!

Our convoy started moving. I bent down to open the dical kit at my feet, took out a small box, and handed it to Eric, "This was sudden, so you’ll have to make do with so painkillers for now. Once we’re at a safe place, I’ll have soone treat you."

Startled by my words, Eric quickly raised his hands to take it and said hoarsely, "Thank you, Your Highness. I’m sorry for the trouble."

I chuckled softly, retracted my gaze, and closed the dicine box, replying, "Stop the nonsense. As long as you’re a Lycan that Donald values, I will do everything in my power to protect you. It’s part of my duty as the Queen."

After this severe injury, Eric seed much steadier. His eyes flickered, and he bowed his head, saying solemnly, "I would give my life for the Lycan Queen and the Wolf royal family!"

Mark, sitting in the front passenger seat, chuckled and asked, "Your Highness, Mr. Gino has replied. He says everything is ready, just waiting for us to co over!"

"Are we going to Gino’s place now? Your Highness, do you really trust that gang leader?" Eric, after taking the dicine, felt a bit better and looked at Mark then at .

He paused, worry filling his voice as he continued, "Does His Majesty know about our situation right now? Gino is, after all, a criminal operating between law and the underworld. Shouldn’t we discuss what’s to co a bit more?"

I let out a soft breath and explained gently, "Donald has known Gino for a long ti. He is trustworthy. Don’t worry. Moreover, Donald told that he’d et with Gino to discuss so matters after today’s operation. We’re heading that way to join them."

"Exactly, Eric. Your injuries haven’t healed yet, so don’t think too much. Her Highness knows more than you do; we just need to follow her orders now," Mark chid in, his voice full of concern for his teammate.

After hearing this, Eric took a deep breath, nodded, and didn’t say more. I too fell silent, ready to close my eyes and rest.

’Bang!’

Suddenly, a gunshot rang out from outside the window. I instinctively bowed my head to protect myself, while disbelieving thoughts flashed through my mind, and I exclaid, "This is impossible! How could they know we’d take this route? And how could they keep up?"

"It’s an attack! They damn caught up!"

"There are too many of them; we can’t just hold our ground! The vehicles in front speed up to get out of here; those at the rear will cover. Just beyond the next two bends is Gino’s territory, rush there first!"

Mark and Eric, from front and back, communicated through their radios, issuing orders to the other vehicles imdiately.

I had by then regained my composure, listening to the gunshots outside with a stern expression.

Unsure of what I was thinking, Eric, holding a gun, looked at . I slowly raised my head and t his gaze, speaking sternly, "We have spies among us! Otherwise, they couldn’t have tracked us down so quickly. Both you and Mark need to be very careful."

I said this feeling sowhat ironic, then scoffed and added, "Of course, I need to be the most careful, as their ultimate target— is ."

"Your Highness..."

Eric’s brow furrowed at my words, about to say sothing more when, in the next breath, our vehicle suddenly tipped over, rolling once along the guardrails at the roadside, scraping out nearly 20 ters!

I only managed to crouch down and curl into a ball. The next second, I slamd violently against the car window. As the grating sound of scraping blared, I glanced through the corner of my eye at the opposite window.

That one look made my heart clench tight; the next second, my vision went dark, and I passed out...

What I didn’t know was that in the first minute of our command vehicle being suddenly attacked and rolling over, a large, furry hand pulled from the wreckage. It didn’t care about the other people in the car. After confirming I was still breathing, it let out a loud howl at the sky!

Then it disappeared into the woods with , completely ignoring the personal guard force’s frantic gunfire and pursuit behind it!

"The Queen! It took the Queen! Hurry! Let’s chase it down!"

"Quick, soone help! The team leader and Eric are still in the car, and the gas tank is ruptured; it could explode at any mont!"

"Damn it! They’re retreating already. They were just covering for that creature!"
