[Margaret’s POV]

The atmosphere in the reception hall was very solemn. Other than a single Austin, no one from the Windstorm Pack dared to speak much in front of Donald like this.

"When a person makes a mistake or misspeaks, it’s their responsibility to own up to it! Miss Lillian, do you find it difficult to offer a sincere apology to our Lycan Queen? Heh."

Benjamin rose during the quiet, his mouth emitting a few ambiguous chuckles, and he continued without pause, looking towards Lillian whose face had turned red: "You might not know, but the last one who publicly defied our Lycan Queen like this wasn’t let off easily with just an apology or two. She was thrown directly into prison by their pack’s Alpha!"

"Oh dear! I don’t even know if that person has been released yet. Her Majesty is now rely asking for an apology, and that is actually considering the many years of acquaintance between you and your brother, otherwise, it would not be this simple."

As Benjamin spoke, he glanced subtly at Anthony beside him.

After exchanging a knowing look with him, Anthony continued in a deep voice, "According to the rules, those who show great disrespect to His Majesty or the Queen need to be punished with ten strokes of the cane. Alpha Austin, Miss Lillian, you surely do not wish for His Majesty to administer the punishnt in public, do you?"

Donald did not deny what Anthony had said, and I looked up slightly either without saying a word.

At that mont, Lillian, stimulated by Donald’s ruthless deanor, suddenly beca very red in the eyes. If not for the fact that crying was sowhat embarrassing and disgraceful, I guessed she would have directly wept for Donald to see.

I squeezed Donald’s hand forcefully, trying to dissipate so of the jealousy in my heart! Indeed, one must keep a close watch on a man as outstanding as one’s own, or everyone would want to covet a glance.

Donald, sensing my mood, quietly stroked the back of my hand as a form of comfort.

Austin then called out Lillian’s na sternly, including a reminder in his voice.

He knew that apologizing now was unavoidable; Donald was not a king of changing his mind suddenly—his words were always followed by actions.

Lillian kept her eyes on Donald and did not respond to Austin’s reminder. Only after a long ti did she reluctantly and quietly say to , "Sorry."

Seeing her very stifled and resentful expression, I suddenly felt very unimpressed, and returned lightly with a hum, "Let there not be a next ti. In the future, you’d better bring your brain when you talk and act."

"Don’t wear a face full of indignation as if you’ve suffered a great injustice. From start to finish, I never bullied you, it was you who ca looking for trouble. Donald and I are not to bla."

Saying this, I no longer spared Lillian another glance and turned to Donald, "I am done eating, I’ll go wait in the car for you."

Hearing this, Donald nodded, kissed the back of my hand, and replied, "Alright, I’ll have Louis take you back first, I won’t be long here. We’ll leave in precisely half an hour."

Knowing that Donald still had matters to attend to here, I smiled lightly and turned to leave, not giving Lillian and Austin any more of my attention.

Lillian might truly be naive and spoiled. Her admiration for Donald was genuine, but Austin’s involvent wasn’t so simple...

He was using Lillian to test my standing in Donald’s heart!

He also wanted to use Lillian’s admiration for Donald to make Donald hesitate between taking sides with her and her sister. Even if the outco of this test turned out poorly, it wouldn’t prevent them from escaping unscathed.

He was gambling on Donald’s regard for . But, in the end, he lost completely!

Donald’s approach to love was neither vague nor wishy-washy. He was resolute and clear-headed, knowing exactly what he wanted, so from the start, Austin had been betting on the wrong horse.

These were instincts that sprang up within about this situation. I felt that Austin was not as simple as he appeared on the surface; he gave a very insincere, dishonest impression!

Back in the RV, I was still pondering over the recent events, with Louis and Ruth following behind , occasionally interjecting a few words as if trying to cheer up.

"Actually, Lycan Queen, you shouldn’t feel upset. At least our Guard Team and the dical squad’s Lycans all hold you in high regard."

"You are kind-hearted, brave, and straightforward. I think you are much better than that contrived Lillian! Just based on the fact that you personally led the team to bring the gravely injured Elliot back to the Palace for treatnt, I, Louis, will stand by your side from now on. I support you!"

As Louis said these words, his expression was very sincere and straightforward. I believed he was telling the truth; that look didn’t seem like a deceiving one.
