[Donald’s POV]
What else could I do to rescue Margaret from afar? I asked myself this question with growing impatience.
Suddenly, an idea I should have thought of earlier ca to mind.
If I could already share the five senses with Margaret and trigger the rare "Being There" between mates, could I also use so other special skills associated with this ability?
Thinking this, I began to mind-link with Margaret. I told her that I would share the five senses with her and complete a one-way transfer of power.
Margaret didn’t imdiately understand what I was planning to do, and I didn’t have the ti to explain. Fortunately, we had enough trust between us that even if she didn’t understand, she would cooperate with as best as she could.
The moves Angel used to attack Margaret were full of flaws in my eyes, and I verbally commanded Margaret to fiercely counter-attack!
Margaret did it, and together we struck Angel in the abdon, causing her to hesitate to continue the assault.
I had achieved my goal of protecting Margaret, but the "Being There" took a considerable toll on my physical and ntal strength, and I nearly collapsed to the ground...
Thankfully, Eric supported just in ti, preventing from making a scene in front of everyone.
Taking a deep breath, I managed to stand behind Margaret. Seeing her disheveled back, my heart ached so much I could barely breathe.
"Margaret!" I called out her na.
She stood there, stunned, looking at . The emotions swirling in her eyes almost seed to drown , so I walked up and hugged her tightly.
The scent of Margaret cald my heart, and the huge weight I had been carrying finally lifted. I really missed her so much!
"Thank goodness you’re all right, this is such a relief," I murmured, struggling to control the urge to pull Margaret into the very marrow of my bones.
Margaret tried to suppress her sobs as she attempted to speak and comfort . My mate was always so gentle and understanding—It shad that I hadn’t protected her better.
If possible, I wished I had sent her back to the Palace from the start. At least it was safe there, and she wouldn’t have had to suffer through all this fright and anxiety.
I comforted Margaret in my arms and ordered everyone to rest on-site. It must be said that just being close to Margaret allowed to breathe a sigh of relief. She was like the best tranquilizer.
We sat together and exchanged so information, roughly making sense of the sequence of events from the last couple of days.
The enemy’s malicious intentions in launching this war surprised , and I knew that I had to find a way to eliminate these people quickly.
At the sa ti, Angel’s disappearance without a trace, as well as Elliot’s and the search team’s mysterious vanishing, were things I couldn’t afford to ignore.
The forest cabin that Margaret ntioned also sounded significant, and there were many things I needed to do, but at least I wasn’t completely clueless.
We only rested for a short while, and my strength recovered a great deal during that ti.
Now that it was already broad daylight, we had to et up with Christian first and then return Margaret and the previously injured Lycans to the Silver Moon Pack, where they all needed a stable environnt to rest and heal.
Christian’s gains were substantial—overall, we had won a resounding victory in the battle that night. The enemies hiding behind all these conspiracies had not achieved any substantial results in this war.
They had failed, and at a great loss.
"Your Majesty! The Lycan patrol squad that just returned from the battlefield found the severely injured and unconscious Elliot in the forest. His condition... would you like to see him?"
Christian, who had pushed open the eting room door, paused for a mont as he glanced at Margaret beside before continuing to report.
I looked up at the personal guard captain with a grim expression, but Margaret reacted with surprise, exclaiming, "It’s Elliot! He’s made it back. Can we go and see him now? I misunderstood so much about him before, but he still risked his life to save today. I really..."
Margaret spoke as if she were guilt-ridden, her lovely eyes unblinking as she looked at , "Donald, may I go see him? I want to apologize and hope he can forgive ."
I touched her cheek with my hand and nodded slightly.
Elliot and Angel had fought a fierce battle, and now he had escaped from Angel’s clutches—there must have been a lot of things that happened between them, and this could all be very important information, which I would not miss.
"Elliot has been placed in Benjamin’s dical team. Your Majesty, Miss Margaret, please follow ," Christian said, seeing that I nodded in agreent and then continued to explain.
He walked briskly beside and Margaret, and I was sowhat silent as I took Margaret’s hand.
