Cypher down
I didn't bother correcting the misunderstanding on the criminals part and rely turned to watch the show. Interestingly Wes and Rui ca up from one of the fancy arena's elevators and Nascour all but goaded them into a VERY unfavorable situation. The two had betrayed looks on their faces when they saw but I shook my head and pointed to Duking to show that it was important people rather than just Cypher people up here. Wes seed to figure it out and cald Rui down before the gauntlet started. Five battles back to back before Nascour himself stepped in to defeat Wes who's team while tired had dominated until now and barely gotten injuried.-
The team Brendan was running was also pretty decent as he had the three legendary dogs that used to be shadow pokemon but weren't anymore. The other three spots had his two Eeveelutions, Espeon and Umbreon as well as a Flygon that was freshly evolved from a Vibrava. The Ground/Dragon dual type filled multiple roles in Wes's team so I approved of it. The rest of his team had the rest of the type chart covered but he really needed a flier and this filled that role and also was a heavy hitter like the legendries.-
If I wasn't mistaken the two Eeveelutions were really only on his team because they were with him the longest and he was rather attached to them. Nascour himself was no slouch either in terms of teams as he had a Dusclops, Gardevoir, Blaziken, Xatu, Walrein and finally Shadow tagross. Those weren't weak species at all and only the Dusclops wasn't at it's final stage of evolution but that might be because the item to get it there was really rare and hard to get.-
Brendans team had the advantage here though as Nascour's sowhat lopsided tilt on the psychic type made him particularly vulnerable to Wes's Umbreon. The biggest problem Nascour had though was that at least one of Wes's pokemon hard counters one or multiple of his own pokemon and had been trained to levels that exceeded his own. Level wise Nascour's pokemon were all between sixty and seventy which was pretty damn good honestly. Wes's team though all sat between seventy five and eighty five. It wasn't exactly a one sided stomp but Nascour only knocked out Wes's Umbreon before he lost.-
"Finally going to reveal your real colors eh?" I asked Escade as he got up to leave after seeing Nascour about to lose. "So you knew this whole ti? I should have guessed." he said with a scoff before leaving. Duking just looked confused at this whole interaction so I explained. "He's the actual boss of Cypher, it's why they managed to integrate themselves so thoroughly into the region. He is both the source of their funding and greatest power as well all while playing the part of a kind and gentle mayor. Credit where it's due though if it weren't for those two he may have actually gotten away with it." I said casually.-
"WHAT!? How can you be so calm about sothing like this!?" Duking exclaid and I chuckled. "Because Wes isn't playing fair, Escade is going down there thinking he's going to mop up the exhausted team of Wes but he doesn't know that Wes has a second team stashed away under that coat of his. I have to admit it's a stroke of tactical genius on his part. He predicted that Cypher would pull sothing like this and set up a contingency that while VERY illegal solved the problem perfectly" I said with a smirk.-
Oh it was a nasty trick on Wes's part as no one, not even the actual criminals would expect him to pull a stunt like this. He would have taken off guard with it too if I didn't use my X-ray ability anyti it looked like his pokemon were getting seriously injured. At those tis it beca impossible to miss the six round objects in his coat. It was rather amusing watching Escade or "Evice" after he transford mocking Wes as the guys team fell one by one from pure exhaustion and stacking injuries, nothing fatal but weakening regardless.-
That was when Wes reached into his coat and tossed out a level sixty four ganium and level seventy three Ampharos. The smug victorious look on Evice's face turned to one of disbelief and outrage when he realized what was happening. Wes's second team was fresh faced and had a bone to pick with the Cypher boss. In addition to the fact the evil pricks team was down by three mbers and two of the last three were ragged after taking out Wes's original team the outco could be easily figured out.-
"NO! You may have won today but I'll be back for my vengeance!" the small fat man roared angrily as a single seater helicopter started to approach the arena. "Learn to accept your loss!" I called as I sicked Rune and Vulcan on the helicopter. Or rather I was about to when a big bolt of fire shot down from the sky exploding the thing. "Well I'll be damned, A Ho ho of all things in this region." I said genuinely surprised. The legendary bird did a few fly overs near the arena, paused slightly when it noticed and then left in a hurry.
I chuckled at that since I had a clue why 'I wonder which blessing it felt first, Rayquaza or Giratina?' I thought amused. I stood up and reinforced my legs with aura before jumping up and forward over the bleachers and right into the arena in one nice clean motion. I then walked over to the speechless gathering of people at the arena's center that was Duking, his top enforcer, Silva, the two cops from Pyrite and of course Wes and Rui. I don't count Evice or Nascour since they were cuffed.
"See what did I say? You had this just fine, no need for to get involved at all." I said congratulating the duo responsible. "I would have lost if I hadn't already known they were going to play a trick like they did." Wes said seriously. "Perhaps but why talk about sothing that didn't happen? You won and that's all that matters at this exact mont, well that and what you will be doing after mopping up the rest of the shadow pokemon that is. Still after a victory like yours I'd say you deserve a prize so drop by my place when you get a chance." I said with a grin before recalling my pokemon and grabbing the nearby elevator.
