Royal eting
While the border patrol was apparently the most powerful force in Rota other than the royal guard it was spread out to cover the whole border and thus didn't have a bunch of strong people all in one spot. The minimum level of strength to be part of the border patrol in this part of the region was beginner ace trainer but unfortunately that only applied to ones pokemon. So while learning a cold weapon was a requirent to be part of the regions military forces skill with said weapons only beca important when you went for a promotion.-
Rota had a knight centric military structure by tradition so in order to get a higher position you needed to have solid skill with whatever weapon you chose to use. Still I enjoyed sparring with these other spearn as while they lacked any worth ntioning skill they were still more or less able to use the weapon properly. Nobody was ballsy enough to challenge to a pokemon battle though while I waited for the woman to return. Not to say that they were cowards or anything but rely that they had standing orders to maintain their combat strength at all tis in the off case that a pokemon or group of them from the wild zone of the mountains decided to enter Rota.-
In no universe did an ace trainer battling an elite ever end with the aces pokemon walking away without serious injury. The power and skill difference between the two sides simply didn't allow it to happen. "Her majesty the royal Queen has requested your presence." a female voice sounded out as I casually fended off three spearn in a mock fight. I looked at the sound and saw it was the woman that had brought to this place.-
With a grunt I pushed the three n back slightly before back stepping and disengaging smoothly. "Now why would the Queen want to see ?" I asked the woman curiously. She shrugged "How would I know? I'm just the ssager and escort in this case." she said honestly. "Lets hurry up and go then, best not to keep royalty waiting after all." I said while walking over to where Rune and Tank were just chilling. A short while later and I saw the capital of Rota in the distance, Caron.-
It was a small city maybe the size of Rustboro and was set up on a island in the middle of the lake at the foot of the Aeon forest. The architecture was old and had a heavy emphasis on stone and wood. In the center of the island was the kingdoms royal castle with all the lovely little details and towers you might expect from such a place. Like much of the victorian era architecture on earth the castle was WAY too big to be entirely made with practicality in mind. Whether it was the white coloration of the stones that made up the walls or the red clay tiles on the roof Caron castle was a sight to behold.-
We landed in the courtyard of the castle and this ti I had to recall all my pokemon including Hades for reasons that should be obvious when coming to et a mber of royalty. The plants in the courtyard were well taken care of and the soldiers were disciplined and only flinched a little when I got close to them. Considering I was nearing seven feet tall and had a powerful figure that was actually pretty damn good self control.-
The entrance to the castle proper had an elderly man in a suit waiting for us when we approached. Not gonna lie the guy was the spitting image of the elderly butler type that dia on earth peddled with short slicked back grey hair and a serious expression. "You must be Mr. Drake. Her majesty is awaiting your arrival but before that I'm afraid I must insist that you change into a more appropriate attire." the man said sternly. I shrugged "I don't mind but I doubt you have anything that would fit soone of my particular size." I said calmly.-
"Indeed, never fear however as her majesty has taken the liberty to have the royal tailor prepared to whip up sothing in short order. You need only get sized and wait a small mont." the man said without any fluctuation in his speech. He then dismissed the woman that brought here back to her duties before leading the way into the castle entrance. The inside of the castle was just as gaudy as the outside with thick velvet red carpets and many paintings and sculptures lining the long walls as well as suits of armor set on display.-
"Oh now theres a rare treat to find, an aura inscription." I said surprised when I found a depowered aura enchantnt on one of the doors. "The castle was built back in the ti the aura guardian order still thrived within our kingdom and as such has influences left behind from those prestigious individuals. You may color impressed to find an individual with your ... unique sensibilities being able to recognize them." the old man said with genuine surprise. "It shouldn't be all that surprising considering I myself am an aura master, it's a fairly well know fact in the league as well." I pointed out and the old man froze.-
"It would seem I owe you an apology then. I had assud that your state of dress was due to a lack of refinent and proper modesty but if you are an aura master it makes sense that you would wish to be closer to the natural way in this regard. I must admit that the thought that an aura master has co to grace these halls once again fills my heart with joy. Us caretakers of this place have been forced to watch as the castle slips further and further away from it's true splendor but perhaps you could restore it to it's pri state." the old man said with a smile and bright expectant eyes.-
I sighed but lightly tapped my pointer finger on the inscriptions energy intake point and sent a burst of aura into the dormant inscription. The old man watched in awe as the circuits of the inscription humd to life like a great beast awakening from it's slumber. This particular inscription was nothing special as it was only a self cleaning enchantnt ant to wipe away gri from the walls of this hallway.-
Still it made the old man happy and that alone was worth the effort as I would likely be in his care while I was here. I didn't intend to stay in Rota for long as I had stuff to do but while I was here I may as well play nice. I could understand what he ant about watching the castle degrade over ti after activating the inscription as that wall of the hallway suddenly got brighter and brilliantly white compared to the off white they were before. Human cleaning thods only proved so effective so over ti I imagined that castle had beco discolored and less impressive to behold.
