With a bleeding ear and a broken foot, Dave wanted to bury himself in a ditch sowhere. The line itself was one of the most aningful things the guy ever said, and today he could not help but rember those lines. The funny thing is, these lines don't even fit in the context of his situation, but his brain sohow couldn't help but rember these lines.
He was not particularly good at using a sword or a bow, he should have been more careful, and he should have known better, but now, what was done, was done. After hearing his yell, so of the little ugly midgets started running toward him.
He started panicking, he was in no condition, to fight anyone right now. He imdiately knocked one arrow on his bow and took aim. This ti he was extra careful while knocking the arrow as well as kept a safe distance from the string, after he was done, he shot the arrow.
The arrow whistled down towards the midgets, but his aim was way off. The midgets didn't even have to move and the arrow landed safely away from them. Seeing that he missed, he clicked his tongue and knocked another arrow.
This ti he fired in a hurry, as he let go of the string in a lot of hurry, enough power was not produced to propel the arrow forward. Because of this, the arrow landed not too far away from him.
Seeing as he had no luck with bow and arrow, Dave then threw the bow on the ground. He then took out his sword and the shield in his hands. And then he waited for the group of midgets to co to him…

Sonia woke up as she heard the noise. She instantly sat up on his bed to see Igor standing with an apologetic look on his face. Just in front of him were a steel bowl and so spilled food on the ground. Seeing this she realized what had happened and sighed with relief.
"Sorry I woke you up my love," Igor said in Russian.
"It is okay."
"But it is not. You didn't have a mont of sleep since the night. And I woke you up" He then ca to her, and sat beside her, on the bed. "I am sorry, I woke you up,"
He then kissed her on her lips "Rest for now. I will go find sothing else to eat." He then tucked her in once again and went out of the tent.
Sonia closed her eyes, as soon as she heard that Igor had left, she opened her eyes once again. Her sleep was disturbed now, and she didn't think that she could fall asleep once now. While lying on the bed and started thinking about the past night.
The only word that could describe last night was, Massacre…
As Yureka had ordered, they made their base of operations in the inner wall of the Vecrus city. The soldiers brought all of their equipnt inside the walls, and the horns and riders were able to evacuate people fairly quickly as well. But what they didn't consider was the sheer size of the beast tide…
The beast tide ca from all directions, and soon beasts of all manner surrounded the wall. Most of the adventurers and guards were able to reduce the number of monsters using various tactics. But the monsters kept coming. Even after fighting for an hour, the monster kept spawning again and again. And eventually, they were able to overpower them and broke through the wall.
The hell broke loose when the monsters were able to break a part of the wall. Still till then with the help of high-level individuals of the Vecrus, they were able to hold the monsters at bay. But it was then it ca from the sky…
Till then Sonia had just only heard the rumors and talks about the Great Dragon of Calamity. People of this world use its na as an on. That is why she knew what Roghorth was and what had he done to harness such a reputation. But last night was the first ti when she finally laid eyes on that beast.
It ca as silently as it could and then sprayed its acidic and toxic breath inside the wall. Its breath claid the lives of many civilians and most of the soldiers. The sheer destruction caused by that lizard made her think that this would her last day in this world. She would die today.
But the dragon flew away after causing so destruction. He may have caused damage to a small part of the inner city but that damage almost wiped them out…
Yureka, the City Lord of Vecrus fought bravely last night. She showed the whole city why she was called the city lord. When Roghorth attacked, she knew that his breath was toxic and that freshly produce breath would produce toxic fus that could kill all the people and beasts alike. So she started neutralizing the poisonous gas with her magic and hence left her position in the front lines.
Unfornutaley most of the mages didn't have the power to neutralize the toxic. So she had to do it alone. And because of this, she got poisoned in the process. And she got injured very badly as well
And when the ergency quest was finally halted, Sonia stayed awake all night to help the injured and bury the dead. And she had been supervising everything till the morning. And when she was finally asleep, she was woken up by Igor…
Now awake, she was going through a wave of emotions. Apparently, most of higher ups of Vecrus city are dead. Yureka was still alive, but currently, she is in a comatose state. Apparently, her injuries are so bad that they had to amputate her right arm and leg. Also, the poison had seeped into her veins because of which she would never be able to use mana again. Thus her position as City Lord was now void.
As the position of city lord was empty, the burden of the position fell on the person's highest level among the survivors. And in their case, it would be an Earthian called Sonia Ivanov. And she was terrified…
She is not leader material. Before this, she used to work as a waitress, but now she was stuck here trying to lead a bunch of people who have lost their everything in a single night. And she was being pressured into taking the job.
The thought of leading started haunting her as she lay there on her bed. She felt lonely, she couldn't talk to anyone, Igor was useless, he was very happy since she got the position and refused to hear her concerns. There was no one that could show her the ropes of becoming a City Lord. She felt like she would be crushed by this pressure one day.
