Chapter 360: Goodbye Spring, Hello Sumr [I]

The harvest day has finally ended and the boon of harvest is apparent as tons of baskets and crates have been filled to the brim. And there are still a few goods that are placed inside sacks as they have run out of crates and baskets to place the goods in.

Cauliflower, cabbages, turnips, parsnips, kale, cucumbers and many other spring vegetables are fresh and ready for the market. Considering how well they are in quality alone, Elaina contacted her secretary in business, i to check on the goods and if there are any orders that needed any of the produce she currently have. If there are none or only a few of them are available, she will be putting the rest of them on the shipping bin.

"Looks like you made the right call, Boss! We do have a few custors looking for particular vegetables that we have no supply at the mont. Since you will be subbing in to supplying us with the lacking goods, we will be able to save up extra transport fees and extra fee for local inspections. And considering the freshness of these goods, the custors will be really happy with the purchase and might even add a few more if they see it!" i excitedly revealed and show Elaina the list of the produce they will be needing and will be purchased from her.

The list is quite a lot, and with this, Elaina smiled in response and nodded. "Alright. Tell

the necessary number of orders needed. Considering we have plenty of produce, we might be able supply all of the necessary lacking supply without worrying about lacking more. Tell the workers to pick up the produce and have our new hire treasurer dictate the price of the goods. Don’t tell him the goods ca from

and he might get biased and increase it more."

i nodded and ntally took so notes on what Elaina said before she left satisfied. Before she fully leave, Elaina whispered sothing to i.

"Take those two crates of goods I put near the shipping bin. Divide them with the staff to bring ho. Think of it as gift from , don’t think of it as sothing I will deduct from your wages."

"Really boss? With these fresh vegetables you have, two crates could fetch bigger money if you just sold it as is!"

Elaina nodded. "It’s fine. And I don’t mind if you guys decide to sell it since I am giving it away from you people anyways, just make sure to share it to everyone in the office."

"Thanks boss! Even though you just recently beca my boss, I think you are the best boss I ever have in my entire work career!"

With the orders settled on the go, the rest of the goods that do not have any buyers will go straight to the shipping bin. Elaina also made sure to divide all of the goods that she will be taking as supply for family and the "wages" for the Fey Family and offerings to the Harvest Goddess. She also made sure that Curaj also have sothing to get as well to bring ho to where he is currently staying. It would be unfair for Curaj to not get any produce even though he works in the farm as well, just more on the animals than the crops.

After ensuring all of the stuff is now settled, all that is left is for Elaina to rest and wait for the next day to finalize the clean-up process of the field and to also begin tilling for new crops. A bit less of a hassle, but still pretty rewarding. Elaina can tell that the gold she will receive once she finish selling all of the produce will even cover all the expenses she have used up these past few months. It won’t take long before Elaina will have enough money to build up a sli hutch and perhaps also expand the farm’s land. With how areas of the farm are now used as regular planting areas, Elaina is also running short of areas to put new structures in.

Since Elaina’s plan was to ta a bunch of wild monsters that can give produce in the future, she will try to take on those monsters and bring them into the farm with an appropriate building they can live in. The better their environnt is, the better the monsters will think of the farm and they will be more willing to remain as regular producers.

As Elaina is thinking of the future plans, Adelaide approached her while drinking a glass of juice.

"I know farm work is quite a chore of work to do, but your tasks are quite a hassle, Mom. Are you sure you are managing just fine?" Adelaide asked.

"Yeah, why do you think I am struggling?" Elaina asked.

"These things you are doing are quite complicated. I might understand if most of the things you are doing are simple with one complicated stuff being done as I might see that as a regular thing, but seeing that most of what you are doing are sothing hard in general and sothing that regular people will not be doing, I am now genuinely concerned whether you are not exhausted ntally or you are just built different," Adelaide said, seemingly worried about Elaina’s ntal health.

"Oh, if you are thinking my job as quite complicated, then don’t worry as these things are sothing that is second in my nature. Before you twins are born, I am already doing this so even if I find it hard back then, I have already surpassed that limit and broke through it. Now? These kind of stuff is nothing for ."

Adelaide’s eyes lit up when Elaina confidently said those words. It might sounded like she was bragging but Elaina can back it up and easily show it to others. She is not bragging, she is just stating the truth.

"Mom. I don’t know if you can even teach this "technique" of yours to handle this task, but whatever it is, I really wanted to learn this. So please, Mom. If you have free ti, how about you teach ?"

Elaina was surprised. "You are that interested in learning how I do it? Well, it might be hard to properly explain...but I will try my best to guide you on this one. But I think even just watching

do the work will do fine as well."

"Don’t worry, Mom. I may not have the sa learning ability Arthur have, but I am quite committed to what I wanted to learn. And if I wanted to know and learn it, I will do it."

...

...

And so, the final harvest day ended, and it is ti for the preparation for sumr. And for once, Elaina have co prepared this ti around. Compared to last sumr where everyone almost suffered from heatstroke, thanks to the money she received after the harvest, she has plenty of excess to use and spend on other things. And when it is said as other things, aning appliances. One of them is the air conditioner.

Compared to the heaters where Elaina has to buy one heater per room, Elaina has no plan to repeat that kind of mistake. After all, an air conditioner to cool down the whole house this winter is sothing that already exist, but one that is expensive.

"Sis, are you sure the "Air Converter" is worth it? I know it kinda works the sa way as regular air conditioners and takes away the work of multiple air conditioners and consolidate it to one machine, but you know that the price is quite hefty for one machine..." Julia tried to reason out on Elaina after she knew the plan of Elaina to buy one after getting the money from the produce.

"No. No way I will let everyone suffer the heat problems like we did suffer last year. Thanks to that experience, there is no way we will die in exhaustion because of the sa problem we experienced last year if I can help it. If sacrificing a bit of money is necessary just to feel comfort from the oppressive heat, then I will gladly use it up to remove that problem altogether!"

"Be responsible on your spending habits, Sis!"

Adelaide has already gotten used to this kind of stuff that the two is doing every ti her mother does sothing that would cause them to use money as an expense but use up quite a lot of it as a result. Adelaide has noticed it quite a lot whenever her mother discusses it. And as expected, Julia imdiately tries to reason out on her mother on why her decision is a bad idea. And they would argue and argue. Until one side will give up, the two will continue to argue. She have seen most of the ti see her Mother win, but she does see Sis Julia win one ti.

However, she has gotten curious on this "sumr heat" that they keep on talking. She knew sumr could get hot during sumr in her past life but it wasn’t that serious most of the ti that it needs anything like a tool to cool down. So now that her Mother is proposing to buy a cooling machine that will allow them to circumvent and completely nullify the effects of the "sumr heat
