Chapter 101: Sumr is Also the Season for lons
The next day, Elaina decided to remain at ho instead of going to the beach with the two girls. She realizes that her fun ti is limited back at the sea while she is pregnant. As for the search for the parents of the baby rfolk, Elaina asked Julia if she could take a bit of ti to investigate the sea and see if there were signs that there were rfolk nearby. Since there is an event on the beach, there is a chance that a few rfolk are also nearby and they can’t miss the chance to return the baby to the real parents. She already asked the gods for their help but it seems that is not possible for them.
"Hey, maybe you gods can help who are the parents of the baby? Especially since you guys can see up in the sky," Elaina tried asking earlier to use their observation abilities.
"[We are indeed gods, Elaina. But we are also not capable of doing what you want us to do. Not only we are not the all-seeing god, but we are also limited in terms of observation powers. The only one who can do that is the All-seeing god himself.]" The God of farming answered without a second thought.
"[Yes. We wanted to help,b but because it was not part of our domain, using our powers would produce imperfect results and you guys might end up just being lost than before.]" The Goddess of Taming expresses her disappointnt.
"Then why not ask for his help on this one? This is a pretty minor thing so perhaps we can ask him?"
"[Nope. As much as we wanted to help, the All-Seeing God is currently away and is currently under ditation and we can’t just shake him up for sothing like this. He would rather prioritize his little work than do sothing like that and we don’t have any sort of good relationship with him because he is rather selfish so there is that.]" the Goddess of Taming added.
In the end, the baby will remain on the farm for the ti being until then. Despite the clear disagreent of the Harvest Goddess on this matter, it seems that the Harvest Goddess is doing well in taking care of the baby. Not only does she care for it, but she is currently floating on the stream with the baby lying on her back at the top of the Harvest Goddess’s belly. Elaina can only smile at this scene as it seems that despite her reluctance, she will still do it.
Elaina prepared herself to return to work. Although she will only do light work for now, she still wants to add sothing else. And since it is sumr right now, one of the best things that is going to help beat the sumr heat, is none other than the introduction to Waterlons and even regular lons. And since Sumr is the season for lons, Elaina wanted to have them.
But because her funds are rock bottom after the repair incident, Elaina has no choice but to rely on the ledger and get the magical seeds that grow faster than normal. It might be like so sort of cheating chanic that Elaina is abusing but she has no choice but to do it.
"[I am surprised that you would head to the Ledger and use your points to buy so seeds. Aren’t you against using these seeds because it destroys the balance and the common sense of the plants?]" the God of Farming teases Elaina.
"Urgh... it’s only because I need money so I will be relying on this one for earning quick money as fast as I can. It’s not like I want to abuse this or anything."
"[Relax, Elaina. Just use it guilt-free, it is built and designed for you after all, and for your convenience. You don’t need to go hard on yourself for no reason at all. And isn’t it much better for you to just use this thod to harvest faster crops than usual? They don’t differ from the original crops but they are a bit superior in terms of its growth rate and also its capability to bear fruits.]"
Elaina shook her head. "I don’t want to remain in the leisure for this. Not only is this fair to the regular farrs who have no access to this kind of ability I have but your blessings given to . Using regular seeds is usually fine."
"[Well, I don’t really care much about that. If that is what you want to do, go ahead. I am not going to wrong you on this one. I just wanted you to know that you are not punished for using those seeds. Use them whenever you like and abuse the capabilities it could bring to your farm.]"
Elaina smiled but the reason she was doing that kind of thing was that she wanted to feel that she was also doing so great work which can be shown from the results of the crops themselves.
She returned her focus to the lons and after a while, she found the lons that she was looking for.
"I didn’t know there are multiple variants of lon! And there is an actual Pink lon as well!" Elaina was surprised to see the lons in different colors, sizes, and even ways best to consu them.
Elaina wanted to test out the new variants of lons present there but she shook her head and decided that she would focus on one variant instead of trying all of it out. Perhaps in the future but now, not yet.
Her eyes landed on the waterlon seeds. Each bag is worth 100 FP and it is worth 10 crops in each plot. It grows in just 12 days and bears fruit every five days after its maturity and first harvest. Elaina is not sure what to say about this. But as a businesswoman, she wanted to take advantage of the beach opening for the lons to be present.
"Alright. Let’s order two bags. Since we are barely starting in sumr, this will be a good way for
to sell the lons and perhaps use them for dessert in the future as well."
As soon as she bought the seeds, the seed dropped in the doorway and was delivered straight to Elaina.
The seeds are not so different from the seeds she can buy in the market but since this ca from the ledger, this is a guaranteed harvest. As much as Elaina wanted to be the one to plant the seeds directly into the ground, Elaina couldn’t do that as he back would hurt now if she did it.
"Alright. Let’s begin the daily work."
Elaina gathered the Fey workers and the group happily gathered around.
"Boss, are we going to plant now? The plots you asked us to till are all ready to grow plants now."
Elaina nodded. "Yes. Today, we will be planting lons. Since this is the best season for lons, we should grow so lons while most farrs are still growing the lons. We should take this chance to earn back the money we lost from repairing the gates and fence."
"We are always ready. Please give us the seeds and we will be planting them on the plots."
Elaina then distributed the seeds to the little feys and let them plant the seeds by themselves. Elaina on the other hand starts to fill the watering can with water from the spring. She is careful not to disturb the two who are sleeping peacefully, floating on the water.
"These seeds are rather strange Boss. Are you sure these are lons? Because we have seen plenty of lon seeds but these seem different."
"Don’t worry, those seeds are fine and they are just enhanced which might be the main reason you guys seem to have been not used to the aura of these seeds but I can assure you that these seeds are fine. They will grow into fine lons. You guys will also get a portion of the harvest as well."
"If that is the case, we will happily accept it! We do love lons so this is great news, Boss!" Bam smiled before continuing the work.
After the seeds were planted, Elaina instructed them to make sure that they were not that deep into the ground yet not so shallow as well. That way, the lons will grow unimpeded by anything. And to increase the quality of the crops, and to also decrease its growing ti, Elaina added fertilizer that ca from the Harvest Goddess, further reducing its growth ti.
After everything was done, she made sure every plot was filled with the fertilizer and double-checked it in case she missed one or two. Elaina then watered the newly planted seeds, one by one, slowly but surely, keeping the right amount of water for the seeds to grow while also not drowning in too much water sufficiently. If they grow properly, the sprinklers will do the work just fine in the future as well.
And after two hours of careful planting, every single seed is good to go. The only thing that they needed to wait is the harvesting ti which will be soon enough.
