Chapter 282: Dungeon Issues
"I do have to thank you though, for bringing the EXP issue to my attention. Because it’s brought a lot more problems than just that to light."
"Really? Like what?"
"Well, apparently, according to one of our clients, they received not one but four variants of what they requested."
I think I knew what he was talking about, otherwise he wouldn’t tell
such a thing.
"What about them? I didn’t do anything wrong by doing that, did I?"
Ba’arhim chuckled as he said, "No, no, you didn’t do anything wrong. It’s more about the fact that you were able to get those variants in the first place."
"What do you an by that exactly?"
"What I an to say is that occurrences where rarer monsters have been happening a lot more often than normal. More variant monsters and such."
"That sounds like a bad thing." I stated sceptically.
"It is a bad thing." Ba’arhim confird before he asked , "Do you know what a monster tide is?"
"No, I don’t." I answered bluntly and truthfully.
"A monster tide is when a dungeon is overrun with monsters which, with nowhere else to go, start rampaging all over the area surrounding the dungeon, which in this case is the city."
"I see. That’s bad."
"Yes, yes it is. But that’s not the worst part, the worst part is we believe that soone has sohow taken control of the dungeons core to force this monster tide to happen."
"What? How?"
"We don’t know, but I want to thank you for bringing this to our attention, because they seem to be siphoning the EXP that people like us would normally get and using it to force a monster tide to happen."
After explaining everything to , Ba’arhim formally thanked
with a full ninety-degree bow and handed
a rather hefty bag of gold.
I took the bag, looking at it in mild confusion, then up at him. Fortunately, before I could ask, he spoke up.
"Yes, it’s bigger than you were probably expecting, but that’s because you got a bonus reward for bringing a much bigger problem to our attention."
"Ah, I see... Thanks, I guess?" I wasn’t really sure how to feel about this. Yes, I’m glad that I got rewarded, but I never really wanted a reward in the first place.
"Don’t ntion it. You should probably get out of here before so of those muscleheads co running after you in adoration." Ba’arhim suggested in a playful yet helpful manner.
"Right. See you around I guess?" I said goodbye as we parted ways, him likely going deeper, and
heading out of the dungeon now.
"Yup! I’ll probably call on Platinum ranks and up to help deal with this once we have the full scope of things." He waved back as he remarked about having
join an expedition to stop this.
I’d like to think he was just saying that to get
to join, but I think he would’ve said that even if I was a higher ranked adventurer.
With that, we parted ways, and I finally got a chance to use my full strength, which felt good.
My body felt a little more relaxed in so senses, yet my mind was a little troubled as news of this would spread fairly quickly.
Let’s just hope that they at least don’t spread my na. That way it’ll be easier to blend into the crowd, considering there are a lot of Serpentine with both red scales and red hair.

The following week, on the third school day, I finally managed and rembered to go find Morrigan because I had sothing I wanted to talk about.
I had to wait until after the school day had finished before I could talk to her in private, which I was fine with. I never have anything to do today anyways so I just waited in the library as I studied up on so stuff regarding combat.
My combat training had been going well by the way. I may have started later than everyone else, but I put in the hard work to improve and managed to catch up and overtake a fair amount of my peers when it ca to skill.
I’d asked about combat training with weapons but they only gave ranged weapons training since there was once an incident quite a while back that forced the Institute to ban close quarters combat with weapons.
Either way, classes were now over and I was on my way to Morrigan’s class when I ran into the bitch and her now single lackey.
"AAAAHHHHH!!!!" She scread as she imdiately started speeding her way over to
upon seeing .
’Oh god... Not her.’ I thought as I sighed and slumped over slightly.
I wished I could avoid her, but the crowd was only getting thinner, making it easier for her to see .
Since I was not able to avoid this encounter, I would just ignore her instead.
She rushed up to
as soon as she saw the chance and began pestering
with her incessant babbling and fawning.
"Oh my GODDESS! I can’t believe I finally get to have so ti with you privately! You can go ho early Alicia." She waved her friend away and she went off into the crowd.
And in that mont, I had slithered as far as I could as quietly as I could which was quite far. I had already travelled half way down the half from where we were towards the next turn where I needed to go.
"Hey! Wait for !" She started to chase after
as soon as she noticed
escaping her grasp.
And seeing as I had been found out, I didn’t have anything to hide, so I went full speed and imdiately lost her.
With my speed and agility, I was easily able to get away from her and reach Morrigan’s classroom without an issue.
I knocked on the door and heard her voice telling
to co in.
When I entered, I found myself in a room roughly a little bigger that the one I took my entrance exams in.
Morrigan was in the midst of talking to another student, so she gestured over to the seats and said, "Just take a seat sowhere and I’ll be with you in a mont."
A few minutes later, she was finished talking with the student who then promptly left, leaving
in the room alone with Morrigan to talk.
I got up from my seat and slithered over to Morrigan as she asked
why I was here.
"So, what have you co to
for? Do you need so help clearing up so problems?" The shift in her tone of voice when she asked the second question was instant.
And it caught
off guard. Why would she ask
that? I an, I know that she’s a part of the Illuminati and all, but what made her think that I would need such services?
"Umm, no? I just ca here to seek so advice."
"Oh! Well, ask away then." He deanour instantly changed to a much cheerier one, not filled with a subtle malice.
"I have, as you know, a Soul Scroll." I began explaining.
"Mhmm." And Morrigan dutifully listened.
"And I have a Subclass, which I’m not entirely sure how I got, but that’s not what I’m here to talk to you about today. I ca to talk about my main Class, and what I should do with it, since I don’t yet have one."
"I see..." She lifted her head and rubbed her chin in deep thought.
"Oh, and I was also wondering if I could use the Illuminati’s private gates to get back to my inheritance."
"Yeah, sure, that’s fine. I’ll give you a map of where we have our hidden spots, but you’ll most likely want to use the one’s we have here in the Institute, since they are the most secure."
She then sohow materialized a map out of nowhere, but I noticed that it actually ca from a ring as she took a small booklet from there also and handed them to .
She then clarified what the book was for upon seeing my confusion, "The map show’s you where they are, and the book explains how to properly use them."
I nodded my head and put them in my bag. With that over with, Morrigan began lecturing
about Classes. Not the learning kind obviously.
"As for classes? It depends on which path you want to take, since there are a near infinite number of choices one could make. You could choose to be a simple mage, or a fighter, or a combat mage."
"There are so many different kinds of Classes out there, and you can make so many different combinations with them. You need to find one that suits you, one that you can both do, and enjoy that is not only fun to use, but practical also."
"You can’t just pick a Class willy nilly, you have to think about what you want it for, Be it fighting or mundane things. A Class is sothing that is inherently linked to your Soul, and once you choose one, it’s hard to change it."
