Chapter 185: Fighting Godspawn

A spark was lit inside of

and my wrath ignited like a fire as I slipped to the side and glared at the malafantic woman with disdain and hatred.

I then quickly grabbed the length of her weapon with my left hand and pulled it back, pulling her towards

in the process.

She was slightly stunned by my sudden actions and I managed to punch her face with my right fist, which I had covered in [Hell Fire], which made the glow of her armour dim slightly, but it didn’t leave any lasting damage to her physically.

She was launched back but stopped herself by floating. She wiped her face and revealed a nacing grin as I tossed her spear to the side.

"Don’t you see Lia? This whore is a hell spawn, a demon that must be eradicated. She HAS to DIE!" The harlot shouted with glee, as if trying to goad Lia into hating .

I glanced back to see her looking at

with shock and fear, which is understandable. There was a reason I didn’t say anything about my demonic heritage.

Still, that doesn’t matter right now, as right now, I had to kill this bitch.

My attention turned back to the woman before

as her hair started to turn to a vibrant red as bright flas of the sa colour started to cover her skin where her armour didn’t cover.

"Y-You... Y-You’re the... The... The torch of the last monarch, Gaysa... B-But how? You were killed in battle..." I heard Lia muttering behind

in disbelief.

I didn’t know who she was talking about and I didn’t care, I just needed to kill this Gaysa bitch.

"Hmph, I’m only here because I gave my life and soul to my goddess after I died, and she gave

this new chance at life so long as I obey her every command." She scoffed as she explained her story. "And you will beco the great Aqua Mage of the Lissoven kingdom! My Goddess decree’s it!"

"N-No... Not anymore... I’d rather trust a demon than a god... Hehehe... Maybe the demon that destroyed my village was you, or so other puppet for the gods... Hehehe..." I could see that Lia was breaking.

I needed to do sothing, and fast. So I used my new [Pyromancy] and combined it with [Elental Scales] to create a flaming barrier that covered my whole body in Hellfire, giving

an advantage over her, as if she wanted to attack , she would have to sacrifice so of the power her god gave her, diminishing her strength as a whole.

"Tch. Stop hiding like a coward and face

one on one." She mocked, trying to bait

into fighting her without this power, but I knew better than to do that.

That was one of the lessons father drilled into , it was to never fall for your opponent’s tricks and always take the advantage for yourself. And in this case, that ant not letting her get a clean hit on .

My lack of response and keeping my shield up annoyed Gaysa as she grunted and charged at

once again, creating several magic weapons in the air and firing them at .

I used my [Elental Aura] and shifted it to focus on fire and as soon as the weapons entered the vicinity of my Aura, they stopped under my control.

"What? How!? How are you able to have so much power?! No mortal being can have that much power on their own!" Gaysa scread in furious denial.

I ignored her incessant chirping and made a fireball made of Hellfire, hiding the power of [Soul Fla] inside of it so that when it exploded, it would harm her soul as well.

I threw the fireball at her and as it neared her, she raised her shield up to block it, and when it exploded, she scread in agony from the burning in her soul.

"AAAAGGGHHHH!!!!" Her scream was horrifying, and it didn’t stop as her soul kept on burning, and it wouldn’t stop until either there was nothing left of her soul, or I died.

She wasn’t powerful enough to stop the fire herself, and she couldn’t get to her goddess to gain her help, so she had no choice but to kill . And I wasn’t going to let her do that.

She lunged at

once more with fists of fire, trying to strike . Even if I had defences, I wasn’t going to let her hit , she was still blessed by a goddess after all, she could have more tricks up her sleeve. So for now, I just evaded all of her attacks.

She flew at

and threw several punches but I evaded all of them, either slipping to the side or leaning back and throwing an attack back at her, be it a tail strike using [Tail Whip], or [Claw Slash] or just a good old fashion punch.

No matter what, I was going to win, I already had, the mont that I started burning her soul. And every second just drew the battle out, and every strike against her just lowered her defences as my Hellfire tore away at the holy radiance that she emitted.

"RRRAAGGHHH!!!" She kept on screeching as she failed to hit , yet I kept on getting hits in on her.

Her fighting style wasn’t that great in all honesty, it was just wild punches. I may not have the best hand to hand combat style either, but at least I had the basics down, dodge and evade, then throw an attack back at them. At least that’s what my father taught .

As I continued to weave through Gaysa’s attacks and countered with my own, her holy Aura diminished without a source of power. Mine didn’t diminish because I was part demon, but her power ca from the goddess herself, and the power she displayed certainly couldn’t co from herself, so she was more than likely given said power.

Eventually, her holy armour dispersed and her body was covered in fire like mine, but not as powerful or as durable.

She panted as she continued to throw attacks at

and I retaliated. Her punches grew slower each ti I countered her, until she fell to the floor and her cocoon of fire dispersed. I kept mine up just in case she had any last tricks up her sleeve, or she was baiting

once again.

"Y-You’ll... R-Regret this..." She muttered as her body quaked before it fell down.

She was now dead, her soul being extinguished by my flas.

Her word fell on deaf ears as an empty threat. Her goddess wasn’t going to do anything against

or risk death, but she would aim her anger towards Lia if I’m not wrong.

Speaking of Lia, I look over to her and see that she was just staring at all of this with a blank stare with tears streaming down her face like a raging river as she looked up at .
