“Good morning, ma. Are you sleeping well?”
“I feel lonely. Maybe I won’t be lonely if you sleep with tonight.”
“Can I?” asked Elliot enthusiastically, while Loraine didn’t like the idea.

On the other hand, Elliot, who looked clueless and continued eating in silence, listened intently to the conversation between the two adults.
