Chapter 391: If You...Die?

Valentine shook his head at him and abruptly dropped to his knees.

"If hitting

will make you listen to , go ahead Olive. I deserve it." His grip on the hem of his shirt tightened, ready to receive whatever hit was coming from him.

Olive stared down at him, his shoulders heaving up and down. He shut his eyes, rubbing his temples with a stressed-out expression. "Do you know what you’ve done?"

Valentine lifted his head, looking into his head. "I-"

"You were ant to take only blood, but you didn’t do that, you marked

and not just any mark, you mate marked ! What the fuck is wrong with you? Are you an animal? You injured it as well and it hurts like hell. Hell, you should have bit off my mating gland!" Olive shouted at him, his eyes burning with anger.

Valentine was at a complete loss for words. He was utterly dumbstruck, this having been the first ti he’d ever seen Olive furious.

He didn’t an to hurt him. He didn’t an to mate mark him instead of just a simple marking which occurs when you take soone else’s blood. He had lost control and couldn’t think straight anymore at that mont. He really didn’t an to do it.

But would Olive listen and understand him a little bit? He swallowed hard, at a total loss for words.

"Do you realize that I won’t be able to mate with anyone for a whole year because of what you did?" Olive questioned, squatting down so they were at the sa height level. He harshly gripped the root of Valentine’s hair, causing him pain and Valentine left him, not even having a single ounce of will to protest against the bone-chilling pain.

"Do you know how long it will take for this to heal?" Olive bared his neck where the wound was vivid.

Valentine didn’t respond but could only stare with guilty pained eyes.

"I-I am really sorry..." he mumbled, his eyes starting to water up. "I didn’t an to do it. I didn’t an to mate mark you, Olive."

"Truth is, I haven’t had blood for a whole month because my system kept rejecting it. I couldn’t understand why, I an, we live off pn blood and I can’t survive without it. But for reasons I couldn’t understand, I often felt the urge to puke each ti I tried consuming blood, so because of that, I wasn’t exactly able to have blood."

"That is why I lost so much weight and got even weaker than I already was. I really don’t know what happened earlier." He shook his head. "I don’t know why I started craving blood so horribly nor why I lost control and hurt you. All I could think of was satisfying my blood craving and even though I could slightly hear you telling

to stop, I...I just couldn’t. I felt like I’d lost control of myself."

Tears dropped from his eyes, onto his lap and he slightly lifted his head to look Olive in the eyes. "You probably hate

for this now, right?"

"I’m really sorry." His choice cracked, unable to keep his emotions in check.

Olive stared at him, his brows furrowing. What the hell was this surging feeling of sadness rumbling inside of him? Why does it feel like he could literally decipher Valentine’s emotions as of that mont as if he was right inside of him?

What the heck was going on? Was it because of the mating mark?

He quickly touched his neck, fear sweeping in his eyes. He’d never mate-marked anyone before and no one had mate-marked him. That was sothing he’d planned to only do with the woman he was going to spend the rest of his life with.

"You’ve got to be kidding ..." he mumbled to himself. "Hey!" He snatched Olive by the collar of his shirt, almost as if he was about to punch him in the face. "How the fuck do I get rid of this mating mark?"

Valentine stared at him with large teary eyes. "I-I don’t know. I’ve only ever heard that it disappears if one of the two dies."

"What?!" Olive was taken aback with widened eyes. "What the hell does that an?"

"It ans that it can only disappear if I die," Valentine clarified.

"If you...die?" Olive raised his brow.

Valentine nodded, confirming. "You don’t have to worry. Since I’m critically sick, it won’t take more than a month for

to die, so, you’ll be free and not—-"

"You idiot!" Olive pushed him, annoyed. "What are you babbling about? No one is going to die because of so mating mark. I promised to save and help you, so bury it. It will be gone in a year, I can’t wait for that long. So shut the hell up."

Valentine shook his head, disagreeing with him.

"No, if you don’t get rid of it, you will never be able to mate with anyone else until after a year. You are not a human whose mating marks barely last on them. I’m already dead as it is, so what is the point? You might as well just kill

now and get rid of it, instead of having to—"

"Can you shut the hell up?!" Olive yelled, grabbing him by the collar and positioning the knife he’d snatched from the pocket of his pants at his throat. "Easy for you to say. You think you would be able to stand and watch

kill you?"

Valentine agreed, "I can."

Olive’s face distorted in irritation and he began to laugh, absolutely pissed. "I never realized how little you value your life! Perhaps that is why your brothers treat you like a kid. Maybe that’s why Don always finds the need to protect you. You are such a brat that has no regard for other’s opinions and thinks only about his matters."

"You are reckless, stupid and impulsive. Smart my ass! You’re barely ever smart where you need to be, gosh!" He let go of him, pushing him away. "I get it, you’re broke and whatnot. But that isn’t a damn excuse to throw your life away with every chance you get. Besides, do you think Don will let

off the hook if I killed you? Funny."
