Chapter 389: Take A Look At Yourself!

Avelina shook her head at Draven.

"I don’t know what is wrong with , either. I can’t understand."

"It just rushes through , and I feel so overwheld. Every little thing gets to

like I don’t even own my emotions anymore." She began to cry again, moving deeper into his embrace. "Please don’t leave , Draven. I’m sorry..."

"I would never leave you, not even if death forces

to, so calm down, okay?" Draven gently began to caress her face, wanting to comfort her as much as he could. "I want you to sleep with ."

"Do not think too much about it, okay? We will figure things out sooner or later." He placed a soft kiss on her lips and kissed the tip of her nose. "I love you, sunshine."

Avelina nuzzled closer to him, burying herself completely in his embrace. She sniffled, hiding her face in his chest. "I love you." Her voice was muffled.

"Adorable..." Draven chuckled softly, his hands beginning to caress her hair.

——

Olive stood in front of the mirror opposite Valentine.

"Are you sure you want to go for this?" he asked as he buttoned up his shirt.

Valentine shrugged, his eyes blinking ever so weakly.

"I don’t think you can." Olive shook his head at him. "Take a look at yourself!" He turned him over to have him glimpse his reflection in the mirror. "Do you look like you can?"

"It doesn’t matter, Olive," Valentine drawled. "I’m not going there to fight. I just have to be there, or else people are going to ask questions. And my stupid father is going to find a reason to yell, bark, or even worse, get rid of ."

Olive clenched his fists, his brows furrowing. "Val, I’m aware of that, but look at you. You’re so pale and weak, and you look like you could collapse any mont from now."

"How are you supposed to attend in such a weak state?" he questioned and walked over to stand in front of him. "Listen, I can call Don and give him an excuse why you can’t co, okay?"

"No." Valentine shook his head. "I have to be there. I have to attend..." He fell, dropping into Olive’s arms in utter exhaustion.

"Valentine!" Olive caught him and quickly walked him over to the sofa in the room. He sat him down, allowing him to throw his head back and rest properly.

"You are not going, Valentine, please. Not like this!" He was heavily stressed out at this point. "Before you think of the consequences that will co later, please help yourself. Your life is much more important!"

Valentine’s lips curled into a sad smile. "Not really. I’m worthless... My life doesn’t really matter. I...I don’t contribute anything to anyone’s life, and neither am I important. Honestly, I think I’m better than—"

"Hey! Shut the hell up and don’t give

that bullshit!" Olive scowled at him, walking off to the kitchen to grab a cold bottle of water for him. He returned after a few monts to find Valentine curled up on the sofa and breathing heavily from his mouth.

He looked no better than a dead man.

Olive blinked frantically, feeling his chest grow heavy.

"Are you sad?" Valentine mumbled, chuckling softly. "Don’t be..."

Olive’s grip on the bottle tightened, and he squatted down in front of him. "Co, sit up." He helped him pull up into a seating position on the couch.

"Drink up. It might help you feel a bit more energetic." He opened the bottle and gave it to him.

With a shaky hand, Valentine received the bottle and took a few sips of water before his face suddenly scrunched in an ugly manner.

Olive was perplexed. He asked, "What is the matter? Does it...taste bad?"

Valentine shook his head and stared at him for a few monts. "Olive..." he whispered his na.

"What is it? Do you need help with anything?" Olive inquired.

Valentine gave a nod. "I need...I need blood, please."

Olive’s eyes flickered furiously. He glanced around the room and returned his gaze to him.

"Val, I don’t have blood here."

"Find one for , please. I feel like I’m going to die. My system is burning, please. It...it...hurts..." Valentine begged.

Olive was completely lost at this post, feeling like he could go insane as he had no idea what to do any longer.

The only place he can find proper blood now is at the estate where he lives with Loui and the others. Draven supplied blood for them monthly, which is why he had none in his ho.

The estate was at least a thirty-minute drive or even more. He does not have even a tiny ounce of courage to leave Valentine and go get one for him. What if sothing goes wrong before he returns? What if Valentine...

Olive quickly shook his head, unwilling to finish the horrible thought.

What should I do? He began to ponder, swallowing hard.

Then an idea suddenly struck him and he lifted his eyes to et Valentine’s half-awaken pupils.

"Val..."

"Hm?" Valentine answered, staring at him.

Olive let out a soft breath and thought for a mont before asking, with uncertainty evident in his tone, "Will you be okay with...taking my own blood?"

"What?" Valentine was taken aback.

Olive waved his hand at him, quickly explaining, "I know it isn’t royal blood nor the rich blood you guys have at the royal mansion, but it’s sothing, is it not? My blood may not be exactly what you want, but it should be of help, no?"

"Olive..." Valentine’s jaw fell open. "... Are you...out of your mind?"

Olive frowned at him. "W-what do you an?"

Valentine hissed at him. "Do you not realize that taking your blood technically ans leaving a mark?"

"I am aware of that." Olive shrugged. "Does it matter?"

"Yes, it does, stupid." Valentine threw his head back, exhaling. "Marking isn’t a joke; don’t take it so lightly. It would literally leave my scent on you!"
