Chapter 263: Everything Was Fine!

Avelina glanced at him, grabbing a handful of his hair. "Okay."

Draven was quiet for a few seconds, as though contemplating. Through the mirror, he glimpsed Avelina. "Between a park and a restaurant, which would you like to go to?"

Avelina was instantly at a loss. She wrinkled her brows, confused. "I don’t...understand." She shook her head.

Draven let out a soft breath. Of course, she would be perplexed. This was why he suggested being straightforward, but Valentine was against that! Now, what was he to do?

He rubbed his temple, stressed.

Avelina, who could glimpse his annoyed expression, let go of the hair that she had neatly packed into a man bun. She walked over to stand next to him and folded her arms.

"Is sothing wrong?"

Draven lifted his head, looking at her. He shook his head. "No. I am just trying to figure out a way to ask what I have in mind."

"What is that?" Avelina’s interest was piqued.

Draven asked, "Assuming I want to take you on sothing called a date, where would you go with ? A park or a restaurant?"

"A date?!" Avelain exclaid.

Draven gave a nod. "Mhm. Tell , where would you choose?"

Avelina’s heart began to race, and she frantically batted her lashes.

"Why...do you ask?" she inquired, wondering if, perchance, he wanted to take her on a date.

She had never been on a date before, and it was indeed sothing she had always wanted to experience so ti. Even her sisters had been to one!

Draven shook his head. "I cannot tell you, not now."

"Why not?" Avelina frowned at him.

Draven began to rub his neck, very much in a tight situation. "Well, it’s because..."

Avelina peered at him, anticipating his response, but none ca.

"I don’t know what to give you as an answer, and neither do I want to lie, so please don’t ask and just give

an answer." Draven’s eyes were pleading.

Avelina was indeed dissatisfied, but she still went ahead to answer his question. "I wouldn’t go to any. I would rather go sowhere that it would be just you and

without random strangers surrounding and interrupting us."

"Oh..." Draven nodded, surprised. Stupid Valentine! She didn’t even choose any of his two suggestions. He pinched between his brows, disappointed.

"I see." He took a deep breath and gently patted her head, pulling her into a warm hug.

"You look like you are suddenly in a bad mood."

Avelina admitted, "I am."

"Why?" Draven asked.

Avelina lifted her head to look at him. "I don’t like being left curious."

"Oh?" Draven smirked. "I am sorry. But I cannot tell you now. It will ruin a lot of things. Just wait a little bit more, okay?" He poked the tip of her nose.

Avelina instinctively sneezed at the touch, the strands of her hair falling over and covering her face.

Draven quickly suppressed the urge to cackle, amused.

"How adorable!" He brushed her hair off her face and ruffled it to put it back in place.

Avelina glared at him and turned around to leave the room, but Draven grabbed her hand, pulling her back. "Please stay with . Don’t go."

He smiled. "I am sorry, but you are a bit too cute, which makes it quite fun to tease you."

Avelina puckered her lips, looking away from him.

Draven finally gave in and began to chuckle. He gently cupped her cheeks in his palms and squished them. "I will miss you a lot."

Avelina fluttered her large eyes. She questioned, "Why?" Sohow, she could feel that sothing was wrong, and Draven was not telling her what it was.

"It is nothing." Draven patted her head. "Do you want to eat?"

Avelina shook her head. "No. But...can you tell

if sothing is wrong?"

"Everything is fine, silly. Do not mind ." Draven leaned in, tightly hugging her. It was unlike the usual hugs he would give her. This felt like sothing one would call...a last hug.

Avelina beca deeply worried. But she no longer probed, as she couldn’t seem to think of anything that could be the problem.

Yeah! Everything was fine!

——

Valentine stared at the middle-aged man in glasses who stood before him. His short, curly hair was white, complinting his raindrop-like eyes.

"Mr. Edrei, you finally ca." He forced a smile.

The man, Mr. Edrei, wrinkled his brows. "You are not really happy to see , are you, your highness?"

"I would never be happy to see you, Mr. Edrei." Valentine rolled his eyes and walked over to stand in the center of the room.

Adam, who was outside, walked in, shutting the door behind him. By the side, he stood.

"Shall we begin?" Mr. Edrei asked.

Valentine nodded. "Yes, please begin. I’d like to be done as soon as possible. I have sowhere to go."

Mr. Edrei dropped his suitcase on the sofa. He opened it and pulled out a asuring tape. He approached Valentine and stood in front of him.

"Spread your arms, your highness."

Valentine spread his arms, tilting his head up to stare at the ceiling in boredom. Mr. Edrei unrolled the tape, carefully beginning to asure the necessary parts of his body. In the process, he could not help but frown.

"Your Highness, may I ask...what is going on?" He held a look of worry.

Valentine lowered his head, glancing at him. "What do you an?"

"Well..." Mr. Edrei glowered, seeming confused. "You have lost too much weight. What is going on?"

"Oh..." Valentine scratched his neck. "I am not sure myself. Is it that bad?"

Mr. Edrei nodded his head. "Of course it is. You looked good the last ti I saw you. Why have you lost so much weight? Do you not eat properly?" He stared intently into Valentine’s eyes, seeking any lies.

Valentine blinked and quickly averted his gaze from him. "Of course I do. Why wouldn’t I? I am gluttonous after all!"

Obviously, Mr. Edrei didn’t believe him. He looked at Adam. "Adam, does he eat properly? Tell

the truth."
