As Maverick shared the news with Severus, he could not hold back himself from laughing. He laughed so hard that tears started coming from his eyes.

It's hilarious to think that scholars of Rivera failed to decrypt such a pathetic piece of information" Maverick disdained however Severus didn't agree with him. As he did, Maverick swiftly stabbed his core. Dark black blood splashed everywhere and Severus who was still standing there went in shock. Everything happened in a blink, so he didn't have a chance to stop Maverick from killing him because killing was never his intention."
Maverick went weak on his knees and was supported by Severus.
Severus' hands started trembling while his voice turned hoarse from fear. "MAVERICK.... Maverick, you can't die."

"You bastard. There are still a lot of questions that you need to answer. Wake up buddy" Severus cried like a child who lost his mother.
As Severus was crying, he experienced tiny monts and was relieved when he saw a pained smile on Maverick's face.
Everything was good unless he survived.
"Don't die Maverick. You just can't. You need to punish that father of yours. He played everyone and is responsible for every single suffering in our lives. You can't die before him."
Maverick raised his hands weakly as he wiped Severus' tears. With a hoarse voice, he said, "No. I can't kill the person who brought into this world or else I would be condemned for patricide. I have nothing left to offer this world so it's ti for to take my leave but before I do, I want to give you sothing."
Severus was perplexed when he heard Maverick. Anger flared in him, "What can you give in this situation. Can't you just keep hut and conserve your energy so I can save you" Severus was fed up losing people. Even if he wanted revenge, he never truly wanted anyone of them to die.
"Aah! You are too good Severus. I missed you buddy and when you die, I missed you like a mad man. I know you wouldn't believe it but I always saw you as my brother. Even after killing you, I regretted it and I regret it till now." Maverick smiled and held Severus. He tried standing straight on his feet and yanked Severus so their forehead could touch each others. A rather intimate pose you can say and before Severus could refute, Maverick started glowing bright white light.
SSHHHHH!
"I am a child of holy light and given the condition I am currently in, it's the least I could do." As he said he fainted.
Severus felt a huge surge of a strange energy in his body. He was perplexed since they both had powers that were naturally repelling and he knows it deeply because earlier when he was fighting with Maverick, he could sense the difference in the properties of their energy but now, everything was just soothing. Severus' injuries started to heal miraculously while his powers returned to the maximum level. Severus himself was shocked by the things that were happening with his body. In his shocked state, Maverick started falling when the light started fading. Severus quickly held Maverick, but it was too late. With a peaceful expression, Maverick slept for eternity.
Severus was dazed. It took him a long ti to understand that Maverick was dead when he did, he strangled Maverick's lifeless body. It would be a lie to say that he was not feeling bad. He felt as if sothing important was being stolen away from him. Remorse hit him hard. He thought after claiming his revenge, the void inside his heart would fill but to his dismay, that void didn't regress but increased to a new level.
Unknown to him, the earlier blue circle now turned black. With black flas rising from the ball, it looked as if it ca from hell.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
Severus shouted on top of his lungs.
With his scream, the ball started shattering and the invisible barrier broke completely.
Thud!
Severus quickly jumped on his feet, holding Maverick in his embrace. Gently he placed Maverick down and covered his face with his coat that was lying nearby. He also picked Maverick's coat that was lying there and wore it.
Marquis and Gren were stunned on the spot when they saw Severus holding the lifeless body of Maverick.
