Chapter 105: Provocation
"Did it satisfy your curiosity?" Lu Wan asked after the teacher finished his lecture.
Ye Jiao nodded. "There are a lot of things that I never knew before. Thank you, Young Master."
"Like I say, I'm bored," Lu Wan stretched his body. On his desk, his books were scattered as he had just finished making a formula. The notebook and his scribble were placed on top of one another ssily.
"I understand, Young Master."
"Clean up my table for a bit."
Ye Jiao was surprised at the task because she knew Lu Wan was capable of putting them all into his storage bracelet. However, she saw the young man walking to the front of the class where a familiar face was standing there.
A young man with upright appearance and long dark brown hair was standing near the door lazily. As an adolescent, he had a handso face and elegant air that ca from his standing in this kingdom.
'Wei Cheng.'
Unknowingly, Ye Jiao's fingers were clasped into a fist. She couldn't forget how this young man treated her worse than trash. He always beat her up and with her asly power back then, she couldn't even fight back. All she could do was run and hide.
"That trash is as arrogant as always."
Ye Jiao raised her head and locked her gaze to Mu Xin. It seed that her sworn sister noticed her uneasiness and spoke up on her behalf. She smiled. "He has backing and people around him, so it's normal to be arrogant."
"His strength is not half bad, but I'm going to surpass him and beco far better," Mu Xin said full of determination. "I'll never let him bully you anymore."
"Thank you."
Her eyes felt a bit wet as she listened to Mu Xin's promise. She felt the warmth from Mu Xin's care for her.
Mu Xin hesitated for a mont before placing a brown thin bracelet on Ye Jiao's table. "I asked this from my father a few days ago. This bracelet is capable of withstanding full power attack from Eon Energy Master rank 3 and will protect you automatically. It's for you, Jiao'er."
Ye Jiao blanked for a mont. "Senior Mu, this is too precious, I...."
"Take it, it's my present as your sister," Mu Xin insisted. "I don't want to hear words that you died sowhere suddenly. I'll grow stronger and protect you, so you have to stay alive."
"I understand," Ye Jiao smiled and took the bracelet slowly. She knew that Mu Xin cared for her a lot and wished for her wellbeing. This bracelet just showed them all perfectly.
"Soday, I'll repay the kindness that you show
several fold, Senior Mu."
"There's no need," Mu Xin smiled, showing the rare warm expression on her usual cold face. "I'll be content as long as you can stay alive and live happily."
However, Ye Jiao wouldn't want to take advantage of Mu Xin. When there was a chance in the future, she would surely repay what Mu Xin had given to her by several folds. This was a promise she had to herself.
While the two girls talked, Lu Wan had approached Wei Cheng.
"I thought that you're too afraid to co out, Lu Wan," Wei Cheng said to Lu Wan without caring for greeting.
Lu Wan arched his eyebrows. He smirked. "Do you think that I'll be afraid of your childish provocation?"
"Who do you think is more childish? You or ?"
"Do you think I don't rember how you used to run away because you can't defeat
in the arena?" Wei Cheng asked.
Lu Wan smiled. "And here I thought you're just so bully who always challenges those younger than you because you're jealous."
Their words were extrely harsh to one another as the atmosphere between the two of them turned sharper. It was apparent that their relationship was extrely bad that they couldn't stay in the sa picture.
"What do you want, Lu Wan?"
"I just want to see you after a long ti. It seems that you didn't have any progress whatsoever," Lu Wan smirked. "The title as a genius is just a fake title, huh?"
Wei Cheng's face darkened at Lu Wan's words. His talent was only above average at best as there were still a lot of people with better talent. Even in his residence, there were two people who had better talent, so the provocation that Lu Wan gave him clearly hit him at the sore spot.
"You-!"
"Brother, I don't think it's wise to attack people randomly."
The crisp and lodious sound caused Wei Cheng to halt his movents. Not far from him, a young girl around the age of 14 years old stood calmly. Her sharp gaze told others that she was not soone to be trifled with, yet her beautiful face would surely attract others to her.
"Wei Yin," Wei Cheng uttered the na of his younger sister.
Wei Yin and Wei Cheng were half brother and sister. They have the sa father but different mothers. At the sa ti, Wei Yin was known to have better talent than Wei Cheng because she ford her core and advanced into Eon Energy Master rank 1 faster.
Lu Wan shrugged. "Look, the real genius has appeared."
"Lu Wan, you should be careful with your speech," Wei Yin said with a hint of warning in her tone.
Lu Wan didn't really care for this woman as he turned around. "I only say my greetings to an annoying friend of mine who never knew when to stop bullying those younger than him. There's no need for you to glare at
with that eyes as I don't want to bother you anymore."
Wei Yin planned on rebuking Lu Wan, but the young man had walked away. She turned her head to her brother.
"It's ti to return, Brother."
Wei Cheng sneered. "Don't think that your talent will grant you a higher position. You're nothing but a concubine daughter."
Facing the provocation from her brother, Wei Yin was expressionless. "Father is waiting for us."
"Tsk, let's go," Wei Cheng turned around and left the classroom with Wei Yin behind him. Other students let them pass without making any ruckus as they knew that the relationship between siblings in Wei Family was filled with thorns.
Lu Wan saw that his books were placed neatly, so he waved his hand to put them inside his storage bracelet. "I'll be going back."
"Will you co again tomorrow?" Mu Xin asked.
"I have to go to school for the ti being because of my father," Lu Wan explained. "You can talk more later."
"I see. Take care."
Knowing that they still have more ti tomorrow, Mu Xin didn't force Ye Jiao to stay and returned back ho too.
