After so ti, the girls joined Aegon for the al while Xavier stayed in the corner. Nobody knew what exactly happened to him and even Aegon didn’t bother checking on him.
He knew his friends very well, so he knew his interference wasn’t necessary. And he wasn’t their source of friendship, so they could do whatever they wanted between them.
"How’s the match going?" Elara asked, deciding to sit beside Aegon before Rosa could do it.
"Intense!" Aegon answered, still keeping his eyes on the screen. "House Thor is on full offense, but House Ares’s defense is pretty strong too. Especially their Tank who can move really fast for her strongest Skill."
Just then, the Tank used her skill, going from the Gold Lane to the Top Lane in no ti to help her Fighter. He was getting overwheld.
Taking a few attacks on her thick conjured armor, she slowed down her enemy which gave her Fighter enough ti to launch his ultimate which ended the enemy’s life.
"She’s a Tank from the Mage Pathway," Cali noticed it quickly. "Her armor does all the work, so if we can sohow dismantle it, we can take her down."
"It isn’t easy," Elara said. "But we can restrain her."
"Can work!" Aegon agreed.
They continued watching the match as it slowly grew closer to the end while discussing strategies to deal with all opponents.
For example, the Marksman of House Thor threw blades containing strange lightning which did damage and stunned both. It could also hit one person, then pass and hit another according to the Marksman.
Or the Mage in House Ares who basically sent a rain of teorites as her strongest attack. Sadly, she was in the Supremacy Gas so the attack that should have destroyed a good chunk of the ga didn’t do anything at all.
Well, except damage their opponents greatly.
"Fuck CC. Why do even Ults gotta have CC effects?" Aegon grumbled to himself, hating on every CC user. "Don’t let find you cowards."
"Huh? CC?" Elara got confused.
"Short form for Crowd Control. Basically the Spells or Skills control the enemies rather than attacking them, like making them sleep, or slower or stunning them so they can’t move. Similar stuff." Aegon explained calmly.
"Didn’t you use CC yourself? You hating on yourself?" Cali asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Let quote you sothing a great person once said," Aegon cleared his throat and sat up straight, making others straighten too.
Then, he smiled and said, "Corruption is not bad. Corruption is only bad when I’m not in it. But if I get involved and do it, then the corruption is not bad. Not at all."
"Let guess, the great person is Aunt Xiu?" Elara’s brows twitched at his words.
"You can think of that," Aegon shrugged. It was a on Earth, but he was also sure Xiu would say stuff like that. So, technically he wasn’t lying.
"Knew it!" Elara sighed.
"That reminds , didn’t you say she loves her brother? Then why did she not react to his presence?" Cali asked, then imdiately realised sothing and said, "Oh, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t ask about that matter."
"Don’t worry about it. They’re just my biological parents. Besides, if Opa and Xiu don’t hate them, I also don’t. No point in doing that," Aegon waved his hand dismissively.
He really didn’t mind it. Others might think he would get hurt or bla his parents for his past, but he truly didn’t care about it. Sure, he might think of parents and all because of his past dreams, but that was it.
His parents were nothing more than people who brought him into this world and for that he was grateful to them. Even if so stuff happened, he couldn’t hate people who technically gave him this new life.
Not to ntion Arnold’s and Xiu’s attitude also influenced him.
"Wait! Grandpa doesn’t hate him?" Rosa asked in confusion. "He gave him cold eyes throughout the ceremony."
Aegon paused at the way she casually called Arnold grandpa before shrugging. "That’s because you don’t know him properly. None of you do. He’s soft and gentle with us, but his past self is still within him. If he really hated my blood father, then nothing in this world would stop Opa from killing him."
"Even his own blood?" Cali asked.
"Yes, if he really hated him. They just share a weird relationship, so forget about them. I’ll see what I can do for them later on," Aegon said, reminding himself to make a note for it. "As for Xiu..."
He paused before shrugging again, "She’s just being herself."
"What do you an?"
"Xiu is very expressive. She doesn’t hide anything behind a mask or anything," Aegon said calmly. "She loves her brother and knows if she saw him or even acknowledged his presence, she wouldn’t be able to hold herself back. So, she chose a safe option."
"Ignore the fact that he’s there?" Elara guessed.
"Yup!" Aegon nodded. "As I’ve said before, I love my family, but we’re all weird in our own ways."
What he didn’t tell them was that he didn’t really like this situation. He didn’t think too much of this before, but after seeing his father, he ca to a decision.
If his Opa or Xiu really didn’t like Arthur or if Arthur had any problems with the two of them, then Aegon wouldn’t do anything.
But he could see clearly that Arthur had been hurting himself for the past sixteen years, as if punishing himself. But what changed Aegon’s mind was sothing else.
Arthur didn’t regret his actions, mildly, if even he did.
Aegon hadn’t seen regret for what he did years ago, which made him curious about this situation.
Similarly, his Opa seed to have convinced himself that he hated Arthur, but he clearly didn’t. Even now he seed lonely without his son. His only son.
anwhile, Xiu was just the middle person who suffered because of others’ choices and still decided to endure through all of that. Only because she loved them so much.
’In a way, she did choose sothing. She chose to raise even when my own parents abandon . That choice gave her life, but also took so much from her. I beca the reason she endured so much.’
