The opening ceremony of the Supremacy Gas also symbolised sothing important. The nobles represented the populace, so they were the first to arrive to signify how they were always present.
Then ca the morning, driving the darkness away which the Emperor himself symbolised.
His arrival set the importance for other people joining the Supremacy, so everything was done in that order, just like how the sun rose in the morning, brightening the world and looking over everyone as they did their work.
This was why, after his arrival, the teams participating in the Supremacy Gas were supposed to join everyone.
Upon the announcent, students wearing their battle gear walked out of their assigned rooms, numbering in the hundreds. Many of them were in their twenties, but there were also teenagers mixed in.
The central platform easily housed the students, which slowly grew to over three hundred.
All eyes were on them, as people searched for their champions, the ones they hoped would do well, while others simply looked for promising candidates.
Nonetheless, all eyes searched for a single person, but not among the participants. Not a single person thought of that, as they knew Aegon couldn’t participate in the Supremacy Gas.
Even with his talent, they didn’t think it was enough for him to compete with others with only a single year of experience.
That was why they searched for him in the stands, but they didn’t find him, leading many to believe he would arrive alongside the Elf Princess.
It was just then that one more team exited the rooms, drawing attention. Unlike other teams who had six mbers, this team only had four, which confused others.
"Wait! G-Golden eyes? He couldn’t be... him, right?"
"No way! Perhaps he’s from the Imperial Family? A bastard son?"
"Shut up! Do you want to die by slandering the Imperial Family in public?"
"Then who is he?"
Unfazed by the attention, Aegon’s steps remained steady and confident as he went to join the other teams with his own. His eyes scanned the beautiful yet harrowing structure of the Giant God’s insides.
’What a beauty!’ Aegon thought, as he had been waiting for this mont. ’Sign in!’
[Ding! Signing-in inside Alvokya’s body!]
[Ding! Golden Ichor Acquired!]
[Ding! 10x Rewards Bonus Applied!]
[Ding! Trait: Mark Of Divinity Acquired!]
Aegon instantly used his skill [Ultimate Power Face] to hide his shock, almost losing his footing in the process. Fortunately, he corrected himself quickly and continued walking as if nothing had happened.
But his mind was far from calm, not even close.
’Damnation! I actually succeeded? I actually got sothing related to Gods? WHAT!?’
He couldn’t contain his shock. If his skill didn’t help him remain expressionless, he would have beco the clown before everyone.
’System! Give description!’
[Mark of Divinity: You have been touched by the Dead Divinity of Alvokya.]
A short description, yet it still sent shivers down his spine.
He hurriedly cald down with the help of so skills and thought, ’So the Giant God’s na is Alvokya? And it says dead Divinity, so it’s really dead, not frozen? That’s... a lot of information.’
He really didn’t expect to actually get sothing here, especially since he had recently gotten the Weaver’s Hand, which turned out to be much greater than he initially expected.
Actually, even calling it "great" was an understatent for what it had given him. That thing was currently the best ability in his arsenal.
So, he had low hopes. Who knew sothing like this would fall into his lap?
’Still, this ans I won’t be getting anything good for a while, but it was worth it,’ he thought. ’I don’t know what this Mark of Divinity can do, but it’s certainly worth more than anything I’ve gotten till now. Well, maybe except that domain thingy.’
"Busy in thoughts again?" Rosa whispered near him as they finally stopped at their designated spot. "All eyes are on us, babe, wondering if we’re stupid."
Well, he couldn’t do anything about that. A team of four shouldn’t even be allowed, actually, so their confusion was valid.
Aegon opened his mouth to say sothing, but suddenly sensed a peculiar gaze on him. As soone who always had attention on him, he had learned to differentiate between different types of gazes.
Usually, he ignored most of them unless they posed a threat, but this one was different.
He turned toward the source of that gaze and froze. Even his ultimate Poker Face couldn’t hide his disbelief and denial completely.
’No way! NO FUCKING WAY!’
He scread ntally, refusing to believe his eyes and the terrifyingly ridiculous possibility forming in his head.
"What happened?"
As always, Cali was the first to notice his strange state, whispering softly.
"W-Who is he?" he asked, trying to keep his tone steady.
Cali blinked. "Who else but His Majesty could sit on that throne?"
Reality ca crashing down on Aegon as he closed his eyes and thought, ’This Empire is dood if this is true.’
From the Emperor’s throne, the familiar face of his Grandpa Sam stared back at him. But now, there was pure indifference on his face, as if nothing could shake him, unlike the lazy, shaless expression Aegon was used to seeing.
’I should have expected this!’
In fact, he had thought of this possibility on several occasions, but Grandpa Sam always made sure to crush those thoughts by behaving like a hooligan.
Who would dare believe the strongest human alive, the great Emperor, was actually a shaless old pervert who smuggled cigarettes?
As he opened his eyes, he stared back at the Emperor, noticing the familiar mirth swirling in those sun-like pupils.
’This old man... he knew this would happen and just wanted to enjoy my shock. Fucking hell! How can soone be so petty and be an Emperor at the sa ti!?’
These were the things that made it harder for Aegon to believe his Grandpa Sam was actually the Emperor.
’Gods! Save this Empire!’
Aegon swore he would find an opportunity to make this old man bald.
’No! His cigarettes are cancelled now. DAMN old man!’
By then, all the teams had gathered in the central platform, so everyone turned toward the Emperor and bowed, giving the respect the Sun deserved.
But there was one exception.
Hence, all eyes once again fell on him, this ti with even more confusion but also burning curiosity.
After all, who dared to not bow before the Emperor?
