Cane looked at his tight finances before he made a decision. He was going to pay the full price for two rooms, but then he changed his mind.

"Ai, do you mind sharing a room with tonight?"

He asked, and the female blinked as she looked at him. There was no awkwardness in her expression when Ai looked back at Cane, and she looked pure and untouched by the worldly filth at that mont.

"You want to spend the night with ? Alright, I don’t mind. But are you sure you won’t be uncomfortable being with ? I twist and turn in my sleep."

The female asked, and Cane just nodded.

"Yeah, I am sure it will be fine. Owner, we will book one room for tonight."

Cane told the man, and the inn owner gave Cane a dirty look. Perhaps he thought that Cane was taking advantage of Ai sohow. But it was not his job to point it out.

Cane turned off the stream before he relaxed on the bed. The hard texture under his body felt just like his normal bed. Since he preferred hard surfaces to sleep on, this bed was perfect for him.

However, the sa could not be said for his companion. He could tell that Ai was struggling to lie down on the bed.

"Is the bed uncomfortable for you?"

Cane asked Ai as he watched her debate whether she wanted to lie down or not. Ai looked startled by his question and imdiately jumped to deny it.

Ai assured Cane before she crawled up on the bed. But as soon as her back touched the bed, she wiggled to try and get comfortable.

Cane could tell that she was not feeling comfortable, no matter what she did, so he quickly got up to help her out.

"This is clearly not working out for you. Give so ti and I will try and find you so blankets to lay down on."

He told Ai, and she flushed red at his sincerity. Her mouth opened and closed, but in the end, she decided to let Cane do as he wished.

It was tough to hunt down blankets in the abandoned inn. Despite the owner’s assurance that the inn was a busy place, there were hardly any other people around. And there were even fewer clean blankets.

In the end, Cane did successfully manage to get Ai so, and he laid them down.

"You did not have to get an..."

Ai trailed off as she looked at the blankets with a soft expression. Cane could tell that Ai truly believed that he should not have helped her out. And yet, she did not hesitate to take his offering.

"It’s fine. It would be worse if you did not get a good night’s sleep and got distracted tomorrow."

Cane told Ai, and she gave him an amused look. They finally went to sleep, and because there was only one bed in the room, they had to share.

"Goodnight."

Ai whispered in her awkward voice before Cane felt sleep claim him.

He did not dream much, but he did feel sothing touching him before a weight rested on his chest.

Cane only realized that sothing was wrong when he opened his eyes the next morning and saw a familiar shade of green trying to choke him. When he breathed in, hair blocked his airway.

The body on top of him shifted around before it got settled once more, and then soft eyes looked at him.

"Good morning. Now, would you please get off ? I am not getting any air inside my lungs."

Cane reminded Ai, and she imdiately jumped off him with a blush on her face.

"I-I am sorry. It’s just that it was dark and I was asleep and you were so warm... this won’t happen again. I promise."

The female promised as she got up. Her voice got more and more high-pitched, and Cane pushed his hand toward her lips to make her quieten down.

"Alright, that’s enough out of you. I understand that last night was a mistake on your part. Let’s forget about it now."

Ai flushed even redder (how was that possible?) before she nodded. Cane breathed a sigh of relief as he got up and stretched his body.

"I will go and check if we have anything we can use to freshen ourselves up."

Cane told Ai before he left the room. Ai looked at his back and quickly pushed her hand to her face. She could feel the heat her face was emitting and knew that it was not normal.

She had never reacted like this with anyone.

’W-What is happening? Why is my face becoming so red? I cannot look at Cane properly either. I wonder why?’

The female questioned. She tried to search for an answer, but with her limited mory, she was not able to connect the dots. In the end, she decided that she would need to take her ti and see if she felt the sa for anyone else.

Ai had not tried to touch a lot of people until now, so maybe she reacted like that with everyone when she touched them?

But a part of her told her that it was not the case and that Cane was just ’special’ to her.
