Chapter 909: Chapter 909 Accident

Ling Feng nodded, then suddenly asked, "Why did he want to find you?"

"Ah?"

Zhang He was startled and then said, "He was looking for both of us, ah. He knows we’re Tongtong’s bodyguards!"

"But with sothing like this happening at the venue, shouldn’t he go to the event organizers?" Ling Feng asked.

"Uh, I forgot to tell you, the organizer is my aunt..." Zhang He said.

Only then did Ling Feng realize, "Well, that explains it!"

He then looked at Zhang He, "Not bad, eh? Your aunt must be very wealthy, huh?"

"Pretty good, she’s been on the rich list."

Zhang He spoke casually, but the pride was obvious in his eyes.

Ling Feng smiled and said nothing, thinking to himself no wonder Zheng Yitong could live in such a nice house, and remain unblemished in the entertainnt industry, which was known for its treacherous waters. It turned out she had a powerful backer!

All his doubts were cleared up, but the issue Brother Fa spoke of was not yet over. What could happen next?

Thinking this, Ling Feng looked at Zhang He, "What do we do now?"

"Let nature take its course, Tongtong’s safety is in your hands now!" Zhang He said.

Ling Feng was speechless and couldn’t say anything else, only rolled his eyes.

At that mont, a team of people dressed in black uniforms suddenly appeared and hurried to the doorway of the resting room.

The leader was a young military officer in his twenties, who saluted Zhang He and then said sothing in Cantonese.

The two exchanged a few words, and then the team dispersed, each taking up positions at the various entrances and exits of the venue.

"Who are these people?" Ling Feng asked.

"Flying Tigers, sent by the Security Bureau," Zhang He said.

Ling Feng gave an "oh" and smiled bitterly, shaking his head, "I hope they’ll be of use!"

Zheng Yitong had already changed into an evening gown and had cald down considerably. She then walked out of the resting room.

Ling Feng knew the award ceremony was about to have her take the stage, so he imdiately went over, ready to follow her.

"Mr. Ling, thank you for what happened earlier!" Zheng Yitong said softly.

"No need to be polite, it’s my duty!"

Ling Feng smiled, then asked, "Are you ready to go on stage?"

"Yes, I’m the next presenter!"

Zheng Yitong knew he couldn’t understand Cantonese, so even though her na had already been ntioned on stage, Ling Feng was still unaware.

As the music started, she picked up the hem of her dress and, guided by the staff, stepped up to the backstage entrance.

Ling Feng could only follow her to the entrance; beyond that was the stage, and he obviously couldn’t accompany her up there.

Watching the dazzling figure step onto the stage, a wave of enthusiastic applause and cheers erupted from the audience below, and Ling Feng couldn’t help but sneak a peek from the side.

In the venue filled with thousands of people, the front rows were occupied by n and won in suits or evening gowns.

Behind them was the audience, holding up various glowing light boards, raised high to cheer for their favorite stars.

Ling Feng was inwardly impressed, having thought the event would not be so grand, but it turned out to be quite beyond his expectations.

The speech on stage was all in Cantonese, which Ling Feng couldn’t understand clearly; his gaze was entirely focused on Zheng Yitong, highly vigilant.

At that mont, noticing soone looking at him, he turned his head to glance at Zhang He, "What?"

"It’s nothing, you look so professional; it would be a waste if you weren’t a bodyguard!" Zhang He said.

Ling Feng was at a loss for words and gave him a sidelong glance.

The award ceremony on stage proceeded as usual, Zheng Yitong and her partner were in high spirits, chit-chatting idly before she picked up the envelope to announce the list of winners.

Everything seed normal, but for so reason, Ling Feng suddenly felt an alarm rising in his heart, a premonition that sothing was about to happen!

So, his expression grew more and more serious, and he beca increasingly agitated.

Zhang He found this a bit odd and was just about to ask him what was wrong when the unexpected occurred!

"Crack!"

A massive sound suddenly rang out, followed by an imdiate darkening of all the lights at the venue!

"Not good!"

Ling Feng shouted aloud and charged onto the stage!

The venue was pitch-black, but Ling Feng still instantly reached Zheng Yitong’s side and wrapped his arms around her waist!

But just as he was about to carry her off the stage, the lights abruptly ca back on!

The power outage had lasted only two seconds, and while people were still stunned and hadn’t recovered, they saw Zheng Yitong in the arms of a man in black on the center of the stage!

The audience was imdiately abuzz!

After a brief mont of shock, Zheng Yitong quickly pushed Ling Feng’s hands away and then whispered, "I’m okay, you go backstage first!"

Ling Feng, having never experienced such a scene, saw that everyone was looking at him in shock and quickly withdrew his hands.

"This is so embarrassing!"

Knowing he couldn’t linger, he turned and left, quickly returning backstage.

He could no longer pay attention to what was being said on stage; his mind was a blank.

Zhang He then said with a hint of schadenfreude, "Well, now everyone watching the live broadcast will probably recognize you!"

"What’s going on with this sudden power cut?" Ling Feng asked dejectedly.

Zhang He shrugged, "I’m not sure about that either; maybe there was a malfunction with the electrical equipnt, and then the ergency power supply kicked in?"

"That’s it?"

Ling Feng was speechless: "Doesn’t this count as a broadcast accident?"

"If you hadn’t gone on stage, it probably wouldn’t have counted, but since you did, I’m afraid it will!" Zhang He replied.

"..."

Ling Feng had nothing more to say and realized that if it had indeed been a live broadcast, his appearance just now would have been seen by who knows how many people.

Seeing his grave expression, Zhang He chuckled and said, "Relax, this is a delayed broadcast, set up exactly to prevent unexpected events like this!"

"What do you an?" Ling Feng asked.

Zhang He looked at him, "Although it’s a live broadcast, there’s a one-minute delay. If sothing happens, the feed can be temporarily cut. That ans the scene that happened just now took place here, but the live audience will only see it one minute later, giving the staff enough ti to edit the signal!"

Only then did Ling Feng breathe a sigh of relief: "That’s great. I wasn’t ready to be famous yet!"

While they were talking, the award ceremony on stage had already begun.

In Harbor Island’s entertainnt industry, which is very particular about seniority, Zheng Yitong had only been in the industry for two years and was still considered a newcor; naturally, she couldn’t present awards to her seniors.

Therefore, the award she was presenting was for the Best Newcor of the Year. The winner was a young man, handso and tall.

No sooner had the winner’s na been announced than the audience erupted, with the fans in the back cheering as if a hive had been set off!
