Chapter 468: Chapter 468: It Turns Out to Be an Old Friend

Joanna said with a smug look, "Surprise or what?"

"Err, it’s more than a surprise, it’s almost a shock. You’ve kept this hidden from

for so long!" Ling Feng said with a wry smile.

"I obviously have my reasons. Let’s see what we can do first. If they don’t give it, you’ll have been happy for nothing!" Joanna said, then pushed open the wooden gate and entered the yard.

As Ling Feng saw her enter, he started to follow her but then rembered Qiao Anran. He looked back at her, "Don’t be afraid, girl. Your sister Fei’er will protect you!"

"Alright then..."

Qiao Anran’s lips were pouted high in obvious discontent, but she didn’t want to wait outside either. So, she tightly held Li Fei’er’s hand and followed into the yard.

This was a typical rural courtyard with three tiled houses and a small vegetable garden inside, filled with so lush green veggies.

"Uncle Sanshui, are you ho?"

Joanna had already started calling out.

After calling twice, a cough ca from inside the house, followed by rustling footsteps, and Ling Feng’s breathing suddenly quickened without reason!

A mont later, an old man with a bent back walked out of the house.

This was a disabled old man whose back seed like it couldn’t straighten up properly.

With his appearance, Qiao Anran imdiately hid behind Li Fei’er, and Li Fei’er was also a bit nervous, not daring to look directly at Uncle Sanshui.

That’s because his face was indeed a bit scary—covered with several knife scars and only one eye.

Qiao Sanshui leaned on his cane, lifting his head to look at Joanna, "What brings you here?"

"Uncle Sanshui, I just got back yesterday. I ca to see how you are doing. How have you been lately?" Joanna asked with a smile, not at all bothered by his curt manner.

"Thanks to your dad’s blessing, I’m not dead yet!"

"Look at what you’re saying, I know you’re in good health!" Joanna said with a laugh.

Qiao Sanshui looked at her, "No need to beat around the bush. I’ve already told you last ti you were here. If you want that thing, unless I’m dead, you can forget it!"

Upon hearing this, Ling Feng understood. It seed Joanna had visited before but had not acquired the Mithril, which is why she brought him this ti.

After hesitating for a bit, he quickly stepped forward and said, "Uncle Sanshui, hello, I’m Ling Feng, a friend of Anna’s."

"Humph! I don’t care what kind of Feng you are, no one’s going to take away what I have!" Qiao Sanshui didn’t even give him a glance, coldly saying.

The scene turned sowhat awkward. Ling Feng hadn’t expected the old man to be so stubborn and was at a loss for words for a mont.

Joanna, feeling helpless, sighed, "Uncle Sanshui, that Mithril is useless to you, but Ling Feng is in dire need of it. Why can’t you give him a little?"

"Right, right, if there is anything you need, Uncle Sanshui, I’ll definitely help you!" Ling Feng chid in imdiately.

"How many tis do I have to tell you? I risked my life to get that thing. It’s ant to be taken to my grave. Don’t anyone even think about it!"

Qiao Sanshui was getting a bit agitated, tapping his cane vigorously on the ground, his tone sharp, and the knife scars on his face growing fiercer.

This scared Qiao Anran; the little girl’s face turned red and she suddenly burst into tears.

"What are you shouting for, old man? If you won’t give it, then forget it. We’ll find it ourselves. Look how you’ve scared the child!"

Li Fei’er couldn’t hold back any longer and yelled.

Instead of feeling guilty, Qiao Sanshui chuckled, "That’s your own fault for disturbing ."

"Now, get out of here quick, or I’ll release the dog to bite you!"

Li Fei’er was also upset, "Go ahead, release it. If you dare, bite

to death!"

"This is on you!"

Qiao Sanshui sneered coldly and yelled, "Ah Huang, bite them!"

As his voice faded, a yellow figure dashed out of the room!

"Woof!"

A bark roared with intimidation!

But when the big yellow dog saw Ling Feng and Li Fei’er, the bared fangs were swiftly withdrawn, followed by a whimper as it rushed to Li Fei’er’s legs, nuzzling and fawning for affection.

Qiao Sanshui: "..."

The old man was a bit dumbfounded by the unexpected outco, and called out in a fit of pique, "Ah Huang, what are you doing? Why aren’t you biting them!"

By then, Li Fei’er had already crouched down, patting the big yellow dog’s head, while it looked completely content, staying still obediently.

Hearing Qiao Sanshui’s furious shout, Li Fei’er looked up at him and said with a mischievous grin, "Don’t bother, I knew it before you did. Besides, it has an owner. What gives you the right to order it around?"

"You..."

Qiao Sanshui was dumbstruck, his single eye widening, "How do you know that?"

Li Fei’er rolled her eyes at him, "I know a lot more. Its owner is an elderly man of immortal bearing, and Yellow has two children who are still at Brother Ling Feng’s house!"

"Is what she’s saying true?" Qiao Sanshui turned to Ling Feng.

"Correct, I am curious, though, how did it end up with you?" Ling Feng nodded, then posed the question in return.

Qiao Sanshui’s eyes flickered, and he suddenly snorted coldly, "You say whatever you want; I don’t believe it. Don’t think you can fool !"

Ling Feng found this capricious behavior sowhat exasperating, so he sighed softly, "If you don’t believe , there’s nothing I can do, but we have indeed t that senior, and he’s the one who gave

the Illusionary Ring!"

"What!"

As soon as he heard the words "Illusionary Ring," Qiao Sanshui, previously skeptical, was utterly stunned.

"Still don’t believe it?"

Ling Feng sneered, gesturing toward Yellow, "It’s actually not a dog, but a beast from within the Illusionary Ring. I’m right, aren’t I?"

This statent completely dissolved Qiao Sanshui’s doubts, and after his face changed colors a few tis, he suddenly softened his tone, "You’re right. I never imagined you’d be the Successor of our master. I have been presumptuous!"

After saying that, he threw away his walking stick and prostrated in worship!

Ling Feng was startled and quickly reached out to help him up, but the old man was stubborn and insisted on bowing three tis before standing up again.

When he finally looked up, tears filled Qiao Sanshui’s solitary eye, leaving Ling Feng and Joanna stunned!

What’s going on, why is he so emotional?

"The master didn’t tell

he had a Successor when he left. If I’d known, I would have looked for you long ago!" Qiao Sanshui said.

Ling Feng was taken aback, "Left? What do you an? Where did that senior go?"

"Our master has passed away," said Qiao Sanshui somberly.

"How is that possible!"

Ling Feng exclaid in shock. After he received the Illusionary Ring, the old man had only ntioned he was going on a journey. It hadn’t been that long; how could he have died?

"Uncle, it seems to be true. Yellow said the sa thing..." Li Fei’er said with teary eyes.

Hearing her words, it felt as if sothing heavy had struck Ling Feng’s heart. He suddenly gasped for air, almost collapsing to the ground!
