Chapter 409: Chapter 409: You’ve Hidden It Deep Enough!

The person who ca off the ship wasn’t just anybody—it was none other than Wang Laogen, with that sleazy smile on his face!

Otherwise, Ling Feng wouldn’t have been so shocked.

How could this old man be on the ship? Wasn’t Wildcat supposed to be there?

He turned to glance at Joanna and noticed that she didn’t seem surprised at all, which perplexed Ling Feng even more!

"Didn’t you two et last night? How co you’re not surprised at all?" Ling Feng asked.

Joanna’s lips curled up, "Surprised? If anything, I’m surprised that he knows you—that’s what shocks

the most!"

"What do you an? You’ve known Wang Laogen for a long ti?"

Ling Feng felt baffled, sensing there was sothing amiss between these two, and he felt like he’d been duped like a fool!

"You’ll find out soon enough!"

Without answering, Joanna smiled faintly and then sped up towards the dock.

At this mont, Wang Laogen was hauling sothing out of the cabin. Hearing the engine of the car, he turned his head to look back.

Upon seeing the dumbfounded Ling Feng, he imdiately laughed, "Perfect timing! Co help

with this bucket; it’s too heavy for

to lift!"

"Cut it out; I don’t have ti for this. Just tell

what’s going on!" Ling Feng said, glaring at him irritably.

"What’s the rush? Let’s get the work done first. I’ll treat you at noon to my specialty, braised fish!" Wang Laogen chuckled mischievously.

"That’s great, I haven’t had fish made by Master for so long!" Joanna clapped her hands and laughed.

Ling Feng’s eyes rounded in astonishnt: "..."

After a mont of stunned silence, he asked uncertainly, "What did you call him? Master?"

"Yeah, the old man is my master, and I’m his disciple. Can’t you understand that?" Joanna smiled.

"I freaking feel like swearing now!"

A vein popped in Ling Feng’s head.

"You better not swear, or you’ll have no fish for lunch!" Wang Laogen glared at him.

Facing the bulging eyes of both young and old, Ling Feng had no choice but to shake his head, board the ship, and lift the plastic bucket full of fish.

Following the master and his disciple into a house next to the dock, Ling Feng found it to be simple, yet it had all the necessities of life, as if soone had been living there long-term.

Curiously, he asked, "Hey Old Wang, is this your ho?"

"Sort of. I stay here for a few days every winter. I’m not after much, just after the special fish from this river!" Wang Laogen laughed heartily.

Ling Feng set the bucket down and looked at both him and Joanna, "Can you tell

what’s going on now?"

"Anna, you tell him. I’ll sort out the fish!"

"I should really do that kind of work, Master. You go ahead and tell him!" Joanna quickly interjected.

Wang Laogen shook his head, "No need, you’re not as good at it as I am. You go ahead!"

Seeing the two of them pushing the responsibility back and forth, Ling Feng suddenly felt a headache coming on, "Why don’t you two just play rock-paper-scissors?"

"Alright Anna, just tell him. Otherwise, this kid might just explode on the spot!" Wang Laogen said with a laugh.

Joanna’s eyes twinkled with amusent as she looked at Ling Feng, "Look at how anxious you are. Sit down and I’ll explain."

Ling Feng, running out of patience, sat down, said nothing, and just stared at her directly, waiting for a reasonable explanation.

"Actually, Wildcat isn’t a person; it’s an organization!"

Joanna spoke up.

"It’s not just my master and , there are so other mbers too, but as for the exact number, there’s no need to go into detail with you."

Ling Feng was speechless and glanced at Wang Laogen, "Old man, you’ve been hiding deep, actually being the leader of an international gang of thieves?"

Facing Ling Feng’s teasing, Wang Laogen didn’t care at all. While he was scaling a fish, he said slowly, "What do you an by ’gang’? It’s called an organization, understand?"

"Got it, that sure sounds nice!"

Ling Feng chuckled and looked at him and then at Joanna, "But I don’t understand, what exactly is going on?"

Wang Laogen looked up at him, "I said I’m a good guy, you believe that, right?"

"Err..." Ling Feng hesitated.

"You brat, you still doubt ?"

Seeing this, Wang Laogen grabbed a bowl from the table, pretending to throw it!

"No no no, I indeed knew you were a good guy before, but now there’s this tiny little doubt in my mind, but if you explain it clearly, I’m still willing to believe you!" Ling Feng said with an embarrassed smile.

Joanna, watching with a smile, then spoke, "Let

put it this way, our organization mainly operates overseas, and everything we do is for the benefit of our country, Huaxia. You understand now, don’t you?"

Once Ling Feng heard this, the matter escalated to the national level, and he quickly asked, "So, are you a branch of the security bureau?"

"Of course not, we’re just a similar type of organization, we’re on the sa level!" Wang Laogen kept his head down, seriously scaling the fish.

"I see!"

Ling Feng understood and smacked his lips, "What a pity, such a high-level organization, and you ended up with a na like Wildcat, that’s just unreliable!"

"What do you know!"

Hearing him say that, Joanna rolled her eyes imdiately and said with dissatisfaction, "We didn’t co up with that na, it’s a nickna others ca up with for us. To tell the truth, it’s all thanks to my master’s wife from back in the day!"

"Master’s wife?"

Upon hearing this, Ling Feng’s eyes widened as he looked at Wang Laogen, "You actually have a wife?"

This ti Wang Laogen didn’t talk back, but just kept his head down and chuckled.

"Alright, Old Wang, you’re becoming more and more impressive in my eyes!"

Seeing that he wasn’t responding, Ling Feng could only sigh, full of admiration.

But then he rembered the crux of the problem, so he continued to ask, "What about that Spirit Stone? Was it stolen by you guys?"

"That’s right, but it wasn’t stolen, it was reclaiming what was ours!" Joanna nodded.

"What do you an?" Ling Feng was puzzled.

"That Spirit Stone originally belonged to our Huaxia, it was secretly taken overseas by a traitor, thinking he could exchange it for glory and riches, but after Luther got his hands on the Spirit Stone, he slaughtered him!"

"Not many people know about this; the whole world thought he had found a top-grade Spirit Stone, but they didn’t know it was obtained through cunning and force from our country!"

Ling Feng hadn’t expected the story to be so twisted. After hearing it, his eyes widened, and after a mont’s thought, he said, "In that case, Luther got what was coming to him."

"That’s right, but unfortunately, we don’t know who actually killed him." Joanna nodded.

"Whoever it was, must be one of our own," Ling Feng frowned.

"Watch your words, what do you an ’one of our own’?" Wang Laogen rolled his eyes.

Ling Feng chuckled, then showed a troubled expression, "This is a problem, after all, I promised to avenge him, but it turns out that it was our own people who killed him!"

"Before there’s a conclusion, anything is possible, you don’t need to rush to conclusions!" Wang Laogen said with a light smile.
