Chapter 279: Chapter 279: Made a Fortune

Xun Qianqian and Li Fei’er were both extrely bold characters, and were just about to open their mouths to refuse, but Li Shiyun beat them to it, saying, "Okay, then be careful. We’ll wait for you here!"

"Okay!"

Ling Feng nodded, glanced at Li Fei’er, and said, "You must be obedient. If there’s no danger, I’ll co back out and take you in!"

After he said that, he stepped toward the vortex, and in the blink of an eye, he disappeared in front of the three won.

On the surface, Li Shiyun and the other two appeared calm, but they were actually quite nervous. Instinctively, they held each other’s hands and kept their eyes fixed on the vortex, hoping Ling Feng would co back out soon.

At this mont, Ling Feng found himself in another new world, standing on a not-too-large clearing with towering giant trees all around.

"So this is the Forest Sea, indeed full of trees!"

Muttering to himself, Ling Feng drew his Short Dagger, ready to enter the forest.

But then he suddenly noticed sothing off. The blade, which had always been plain, was now emitting a faint glow!

"What’s going on?"

Ling Feng was puzzled, not having expected that entering this world would elicit a reaction from the object first.

He looked down a few tis and, aside from the silver glint, there was no other change to the blade.

With curiosity, Ling Feng continued forward with the Short Dagger in hand and soon entered the depths of the dense forest.

All was quiet around him, and the environnt wasn’t much different from the deep mountains to the west of Shiliu Village. The ground was covered in fallen leaves and so wild grass, and light filtered down through the gaps in the tree branches overhead, allowing for decent visibility.

Inhaling the scent of the forest, Ling Feng sniffed and suddenly recalled the feeling of picking mushrooms in the mountains as a child.

The trees here were all common species, with no peculiar varieties. After walking several hundred ters in the forest, Ling Feng felt a bit baffled.

"Is the First Layer really this simple?"

"Why is there nothing at all!"

"Thought there would be so many treasures, what a letdown!"

While complaining internally, he continued forward, but suddenly his nose caught a particularly pristine fragrance.

It was a scent he had never slled before, and although there was no prompt in his mind, the aroma made him feel extrely relaxed and refreshed, even improving his mood.

As Ling Feng walked forward, he searched left and right with his gaze and then saw a large tree lying on the ground ahead in a clearing.

Approaching it, the fragrance beca even richer. Ling Feng touched the trunk and imdiately received a ntal prompt: "Agarwood."

Just two words, but they were enough!

Ling Feng wasn’t ignorant; he had so knowledge and knew that Agarwood was a very precious spice, valuable and highly coveted!

Looking at the large Agarwood tree before him, he nodded with satisfaction, saying, "At least the journey wasn’t in vain!"

Rembering that Li Shiyun and the others were waiting outside, Ling Feng didn’t waste too much ti there. Since it was just there, he could co and take it whenever he needed. So he turned around to leave and hurried back the way he had co.

The Forest Sea was not boundless. After walking a few thousand ters, he finally saw a hazy fog appear ahead. Upon a closer look, he realized he couldn’t cross through it, clearly coming to the end.

Despite this, after estimating, Ling Feng realized that the Forest Sea covered an area of more than twenty square kiloters, which was already quite extensive.

It was impossible for one person to explore every place in a short ti, but he hadn’t seen any creatures along the way, so Ling Feng was certain that the place was very safe.

Consequently, he turned back, arrived at the Teleportation portal, and returned outside.

Li Shiyun and the others were already sowhat anxious from waiting. Seeing Ling Feng co out, they imdiately gathered around and asked in unison, "How did it go?"

"So it’s really just a sea of trees, nothing but trees everywhere!"

"I want to see it too!"

Li Fei’er pouted and made a remark, then suddenly furrowed her brow, leaned into Ling Feng’s side, and sniffed, "What’s that sll on you?"

Her comnt alerted Li Shiyun and Xun Qianqian as well, who also ca over to sniff around, both looking puzzled.

Ling Feng chuckled, "Do you like the scent?"

"It slls really nice, what is it?" Li Fei’er asked.

"This is the only thing I found after going in there, a particularly large Agarwood tree!" Ling Feng said proudly.

"Really?"

Li Shiyun’s eyes widened as she asked, "How big is it?"

"It’s about the size of that big poplar tree at the west end of the village!" Ling Feng replied.

"Oh my gosh!"

Li Shiyun gasped and covered her mouth with her hand, "Could that be a thousand pounds?"

"Roughly, this stuff is valuable, isn’t it?"

Seeing her astonishnt, Ling Feng quickly asked.

"I’ve heard it’s about as precious as gold, and it’s practically priceless, very hard to co by," Li Shiyun said.

Without calculating the exact amount, Ling Feng nodded and smiled, "That’s great, so the trip wasn’t in vain. Co on, I’ll take you to see it!"

With that, he took Li Shiyun’s hand and set off.

Xun Qianqian and Li Fei’er also imdiately followed, and the four of them returned to the forest.

Seeing the towering giant trees in front of them was like entering a primitive forest, and Xun Qianqian couldn’t help but mutter to herself, "One mont we were inside a house, and now we’re in a huge forest, it’s freaking magical!"

If it were any other girl cursing, Ling Feng wouldn’t be able to stand it, but coming from her it seed natural, so he didn’t find it surprising and laughingly said, "It is magical. Don’t be afraid, there shouldn’t be any wild animals here, just take a stroll and see if we can find anything better!"

"I want to see the Agarwood first!" Li Fei’er declared.

The unique fragrance was particularly enchanting, naturally attracting the girls’ attention.

So Ling Feng led the three into the forest, and they quickly arrived at the big tree.

Li Shiyun squatted down, scraped off a small piece with her fingernail, sniffed it close to her nose, turned her head toward Ling Feng, and said, "Now you’re really rich!"

"How much can this tree sell for?" Ling Feng, seeing her shocked expression, asked curiously.

"At three hundred per gram, fifteen thousand for a pound, a thousand pounds would be one hundred fifty million!" Li Shiyun explained.

Ling Feng’s eyes also widened as he stamred, "One... one hundred million? You... you didn’t calculate that wrong, did you?"

"It’s one hundred and fifty million! Could I possibly get such simple math wrong?" Li Shiyun gave him a glance.

Ling Feng felt his hands shaking a little, tens of millions was just a number to him now, but reaching billions was still shocking enough to stun him.

"Don’t get too excited just yet. It’s not sothing you can cash in on imdiately. If you take the whole tree out, you definitely won’t get that much for it. It’s best to sell little by little, a steady flow," Li Shiyun said with a smile.

"Got it. After going out, I’ll contact Wang Laogen!"

Ling Feng squatted down and caressed the Agarwood tree gingerly, a look of adoration on his face.
