Chapter 2057: Chapter 2056: A Delaying Tactic
Back on Lingyun Island, Ling Feng checked the ti. There were still a few hours left before the agreed ti with those who invaded Shallow Blue Star. Ling Feng thought for a mont and decided to take out the Star Chain.
If the other side was sincere, they would have left by now.
If they didn’t want to leave, there’s no need to fuss over the ti; might as well confront them directly!
Resolving this, Ling Feng activated the Star Chain and directly returned to the place he had left earlier, the palace of Xing He.
Appearing there, he saw that only Xing Can was present, and outside was a sea of gold, which should be the morning glow.
Ling Feng didn’t know how many hours constituted a day there. It felt like the gravity of Shallow Blue Star was similar to that of Earth, and people’s heights were about the sa, so he treated it like it was Earth.
But actually, there were still so tiny differences.
Xing Can was dozing, leaning her head on her hand, unaware of Ling Feng’s arrival.
Seeing this, Ling Feng had to cough to awaken her.
Seeing Ling Feng, Xing Can imdiately looked pleasantly surprised, quickly standing up and saying, "Ling Feng, you’re here!"
"Yes, where is your brother?" Ling Feng nodded and then asked.
"He went outside the Imperial City. Those invaders are retreating, and the capital is a bit chaotic now!" Xing Can said.
"Oh?"
Ling Feng raised an eyebrow at this and quickly asked, "Those guys, they really left?"
"Seems like it!"
Xing Can nodded and then smiled, "That’s all thanks to you, Ling Feng. Scaring off the invaders all by yourself!"
"Sothing feels off, though."
Ling Feng recalled what Dick had said earlier and looked at Xing Can, "Weren’t they supposed to be incredibly greedy? How could they just leave like that?"
"I don’t know about that, but their soldiers have boarded the spacecraft, and it’s already up in the sky." Xing Can replied.
"Alright, I’ll go take a look!"
Ling Feng nodded and walked out of the palace to the plaza outside.
Looking up, the gigantic spacecraft that once hovered in the sky was now gone, reduced to a black dot, most likely tens of kiloters high.
Seeing this, Ling Feng was convinced the invaders had indeed left.
At the sa ti, he was puzzled, as this outco was completely different from what Dick had said!
Could it be that they were truly afraid of him?
Sothing seed off, and Ling Feng used his Divine Sense to scan the capital, quickly locating where Xing He was.
At that mont, he was surrounded by a group of people, looking up at the sky.
Seeing his face looking concerned, Ling Feng felt sothing amiss and imdiately leaped!
In just a few leaps, he was already outside the Imperial City.
Xing Can originally wanted to say a few more words to him, but he disappeared in a flash, and she could only hold back.
Ling Feng reached the place where Xing He was located, and so Guards at the heights saw him and quickly inford Xing He.
Seeing Ling Feng, Xing He imdiately parted the crowd and walked quickly towards him, "Ling Feng, you’re just in ti!"
"What’s wrong?"
"The invaders’ spacecraft left, but it’s staying at that altitude, refusing to move further!" Xing He said.
Ling Feng was stunned and hurriedly asked, "How long has it been like this?"
"Since the morning star appeared until now, it’s been a long while!" Xing He said.
Ling Feng knew that the morning star referred to the system’s sun and, though unsure how long "a long while" was, understood that the invaders weren’t truly leaving but were adopting a delaying tactic.
He estimated that they might be planning to reach space, stay there, and observe the situation before making a move.
With this in mind, Ling Feng hurriedly asked, "What about the children they captured? Have they all been released?"
"They did release them, but each child had sothing installed on them, and we don’t know what it’s for!"
Xing He said, then turned his head and looked around. His n imdiately brought a child over.
Ling Feng looked at the child, noticing that sothing was strapped to the child’s ankle, with a red light flashing in a steady rhythm.
This device resembled an electronic shackle, making Ling Feng frown!
It confird his suspicion further; the invaders didn’t plan to leave but wanted to see if, after ascending high into the sky, Ling Feng could still deal with them!
If not, these guys might continue to invade Shallow Blue Star!
Ling Feng squinted his eyes and said in a low voice, "Trying to play gas with ? Let
show you what I’ve got!"
Without notifying Xing He, Ling Feng directly summoned the Ghost Dragon, startling the surrounding crowd, almost causing them to sit on the ground.
Ling Feng jumped onto the Ghost Dragon’s back and quickly ascended into the sky.
He discovered that Shallow Blue Star’s atmosphere was very thin, not as thick as Earth’s, and the Ghost Dragon couldn’t reach the spacecraft’s height.
With no choice, the Ghost Dragon flapped its wings a few tis at the edge of the atmosphere before landing back on the ground.
Xing He led people over and asked, "Ling Feng, what now?"
"Don’t worry, even in space, I can still deal with them!"
Ling Feng squinted his eyes, already having a plan in mind.
After speaking, he turned to Xing He and said, "Don’t worry, everyone. The other side is still observing and won’t act for the ti being. Comfort everyone and focus on rebuilding your ho."
"What about you? Aren’t you staying?" Xing He asked.
"I’m going back to figure out a way; we must ultimately drive these guys away!"
Ling Feng said, then rode the Ghost Dragon back to the Imperial City and activated the Star Chain, swiftly returning to Lingyun Island.
Upon returning, Ling Feng imdiately sought Gu Li and told him the situation.
Gu Li pondered it for a mont, "Boss, they’re engaging in guerrilla tactics against you!"
"Indeed, they’re taking advantage of Shallow Blue Star not having reached the space era. Once they’re in space, not even I can handle them!" Ling Feng said.
"No worries, Shallow Blue Star might not have the ans, but we do!"
Gu Li smiled and continued, "Boss, it’s not very cost-effective to use our rockets. I suggest you find Old Han and see if you can purchase so intercontinental ballistic missiles!"
"But their spacecraft has a protective layer. Even the Ghost Dragon and I couldn’t penetrate it. What can missiles do?" Ling Feng asked.
Gu Li chuckled, "Sotis intimidation is more terrifying than destruction. You don’t have to destroy them; just show them we an business!"
"Well, that’s true!"
Ling Feng nodded, then chuckled bitterly, "But as for asking Old Han, better to forget it. I’d end up getting scolded for nothing, and even if he agreed, he wouldn’t have the authority!"
"Then what to do?" Gu Li asked.
"If we can’t figure it out here, we can always go to another country!"
Ling Feng chuckled, his expression instantly becoming more intriguing.
