Chapter 1735: Chapter 1734: The Grand Courtyard

That night, everyone enjoyed themselves to the fullest. Xu Mu and the other security bureau staff were full of admiration for Ling Feng, and since he was down-to-earth, they quickly blended in with everyone.

From around five in the afternoon until ten in the evening, everyone ate and drank until they were satisfied and had an enjoyable ti.

Afterward, Ling Feng picked up the tab, and everyone went their separate ways. Downstairs, Chen Fei said to him, "I won’t invite you over tonight; you should go with Lanlan!"

Ling Feng nodded, "Alright, I was just thinking of checking out how things are on her side and co back tomorrow!"

"No rush, there’s nothing much going on here either. If you’re busy, it’s okay not to co back!" Chen Fei laughed.

"That works too, I’ll co by when I have ti!"

Ling Feng nodded, watched Chen Fei get into her car, and only got into Miao Lanlan’s car after she left.

Then the car started, and Ling Feng looked at Miao Lanlan, "You’ve had quite a bit to drink, can you drive?"

"As long as I don’t want to, alcohol won’t affect my driving!" Miao Lanlan boasted.

Ling Feng chuckled, "Say that to the police, do you think they’ll believe it?"

"It doesn’t matter if they don’t; worst case, I’ll just tabolize the alcohol directly!"

Miao Lanlan said, then drove straight onto the road!

And as if by chance, just when they reached the outskirts of Yangjing County, they saw flashing police lights ahead, coincidentally running into a police checkpoint!

Ling Feng gave a wry smile, turned to Miao Lanlan, "Even though you have a special status, obviously if you’re caught for drunk driving, things won’t just blow over; you’ll definitely be punished!"

"Of course I know that!"

Miao Lanlan felt he was being a bit verbose, rolled her eyes, and then started mobilizing the spiritual power within her to quickly break down the alcohol.

The car moved forward in order, passing through the checkpoint, and when it was her turn, as soon as the window was rolled down, a waft of alcohol hit the police officer’s nose, making him frown instantly!

"Hello, police checkpoint, please cooperate and blow into the breathalyzer!" the officer said sternly.

Miao Lanlan’s face was still flushed, she smiled and said, "Of course, no problem!"

Then, she opened her mouth and blew into the device.

Seeing the result show zero on the screen, the police officer was a bit bewildered, looked at Miao Lanlan in surprise, "Sorry, please blow again!"

"Alright!"

Miao Lanlan smiled slightly and blew again.

The result was still zero!

This ti the officer was bewildered, looked at Miao Lanlan, then at the device in his hand, thought for a mont, and said, "Please wait a mont!"

After saying that, he turned around and imdiately found the captain in charge of the operation.

After explaining the situation, the captain was also a bit surprised, quickly ca to Miao Lanlan’s car, looked at her complexion, and slled a strong alcohol odor, so he said, "Miss, please blow into the breathalyzer again."

"Alright!"

Miao Lanlan smiled, not feeling impatient at all, and blew once more.

They used a different device, but the result was still zero. By this ti, a long line of cars had ford behind them. Although the two officers felt sothing was amiss, they still saluted Miao Lanlan, "Sorry to hold you up, please move forward, you can leave now!"

"Thank you!"

Miao Lanlan grinned and drove away.

After driving away, she proudly glanced at Ling Feng, "See, I told you they wouldn’t find out!"

"You’re taking shortcuts, tricking them a bit; you shouldn’t do this next ti!" Ling Feng said.

"There’s no next ti; I usually don’t drink at all, just had a little today because I saw you!"

Miao Lanlan pouted, holding the steering wheel.

The words sounded casual but carried a bit of resentnt; Ling Feng’s heart softened, so he grabbed her right hand, "I know I’ve been too busy lately and neglected you a bit. Once things settle down, I’ll make sure to spend more ti with you!"

"Do you think you can make up for it?"

Miao Lanlan snarked, eyes focused ahead, not even glancing at him.

Ling Feng felt helpless too, gave a bitter smile, and hurriedly kept silent.

At monts like this, if he couldn’t find a way to distract or ease Miao Lanlan’s frustration, staying silent was the best choice!

Ling Feng didn’t want to spoil the mood, while Miao Lanlan was a bit relentless, turned to look at him, and said, "I broke down all the alcohol just now, so it’s like I didn’t drink at all. Now what are you going to do?"

"Huh?"

Ling Feng hesitated, instinctively asked, "So what do you want to do?"

"You have to make it up to !"

Miao Lanlan pouted, face full of grievance!

Seeing this, Ling Feng knew she was acting spoiled, so he nodded and laughed, "Alright, when we get to your place, I’ll have a drink with you!"

"Great!"

Miao Lanlan instantly bead with joy, clenched her little fist!

The car left the city, continued along the highway, and after driving dozens of kiloters, another brightly lit city erged in the distance ahead.

This place was called Yangling, the superior city of Yangjing County, and an administrative center covering several hundred square kiloters in the vicinity.

It was Ling Feng’s first ti here, and since it was night, he couldn’t see Yangling City’s appearance clearly.

However, he didn’t use his Divine Sense to scan the area either; after all, it was already late, and scanning like that might reveal too many people’s privacy, which would be inappropriate.

Once the car entered the city, after twisting and turning, it entered a narrow alley.

Seeing the alley get narrower, Ling Feng curiously asked, "How are you going to get out of here tomorrow with such a narrow place?"

"You’ll see in a mont!"

Miao Lanlan chuckled, drove to the bottom of the alley, where a rolling shutter appeared.

After pressing a switch, the iron door slowly rose, revealing the space behind it.

Only then did Ling Feng see that although the alley was narrow, behind the door was a very large courtyard!

After Miao Lanlan drove into the yard, he noticed the spaciousness was beyond imagination; it could accommodate and even allow a nine-ter-long truck to make a U-turn!

"I didn’t expect there to be such a big courtyard in the bustling city; how did you find it?" Ling Feng asked joyfully.

Miao Lanlan smiled, "I didn’t find it; it’s the house of a close friend of my grandpa. I visited the old man after I got here and then stayed here!"

"I see!"

Ling Feng nodded, then praised, "That old man’s friend must be quite extraordinary too!"

"That’s for sure. I’ll tell you more later; for now, get out of the car and start working!" Miao Lanlan said.

Ling Feng was puzzled again, looked at her, "What do you an by work?"

"You promised to drink with , but just drinking is boring, so why don’t you make us so barbecue?" Miao Lanlan suggested.

"Uh, alright!"

Ling Feng chuckled, thinking that since she wants to eat, she’s giving

face, so of course I should fulfill her wish!
