Chapter 1597: Chapter 1596

As soon as Ling Feng finished speaking, Chen Hong and Lin Yu, the siblings, rushed into the village.

A one-sided massacre unfolded in an instant!

Although those black-haired monsters were fierce, their combat strength was lacking. In front of everyone, they resembled re kittens and puppies, very easy to deal with.

Of course, they were still harmful to ordinary people, and Zhang Jinshan’s decision to evacuate the villagers was indeed a wise choice.

Half an hour later, Ling Feng and the others had completely eliminated the monsters in the village, and then everyone split up to drag all of the black-haired monsters’ bodies to the square in the middle of the village.

Ling Feng took out a few fire-attribute Five Elents Fruits and tossed them over.

Flas erupted, and the black-haired monsters’ corpses were instantly consud by the blaze.

Afterward, a foul stench assaulted them, prompting everyone to cover their noses instinctively.

Fortunately, the flas were incredibly hot and quickly burned the bodies to ashes, causing the foul odor to disappear along with them.

Ling Feng turned to Lin Yu: "Call Zhang Jinshan and the others back, estimate the ho losses, tally the figures, and the bureau will compensate them!"

"Okay!"

Lin Yu nodded and took out the phone.

"What about you?" Chen Hong asked.

"I’m going to the mountains to check, find the source of these monsters, and see if there are more!" Ling Feng said, looking at the northern mountain range.

Chen Hong uttered an "oh" and imdiately said, "I’ll go with you!"

"No need, this side needs manpower, you stay and help!"

Ling Feng said and leapt away, leaving the village.

Watching his back, Chen Hong stomped her foot in anger but obediently stayed behind, not chasing after him.

After Ling Feng left the village, he ran quickly across the gully-filled Loess Plateau, simultaneously scanning with his Divine Sense to search for any possible monster locations.

A few kiloters later, his phone rang.

Seeing it was Zhang He, Ling Feng stopped, answered the call, and asked, "What, did the news co so quickly?"

"Not only your place, we also have monsters appearing on our side!" Zhang He said.

Ling Feng’s eyes widened: "Ah? How’s the situation?"

"Easy to deal with, all eliminated!"

Zhang He said and continued, "This is a nationwide anomaly, many places report similar situations, things have beco complicated."

"Is it that serious?"

Ling Feng’s brow furrowed tightly, and then he asked, "What’s the situation, are there losses everywhere?"

"Not much loss, almost no casualties, but I’m worried this is just the beginning!"

Zhang He’s voice was sowhat somber, clearly sensing a crisis.

"I’m tracking the monster source, now knowing it’s not just here, is there still a need to keep tracking?" Ling Feng asked.

"Yes, let’s keep investigating, everyone is trying to figure out what’s going on!" Zhang He said.

Ling Feng nodded: "Alright, by the way, is this happening only in Huaxia?"

"That’s not clear yet. If this is occurring in other parts of the world, soon it will probably hit the news, and I’ll notify you!" Zhang He said.

"Okay, got it!"

Ling Feng nodded and hung up the phone.

Feeling heavy-hearted, he looked around and once again headed towards the northern mountain range.

Walking a few more kiloters, he neared the base of the mountain range and stopped upon discovering sothing odd.

This was the end of the loess; ahead lay a gravel-filled valley, and across the valley was the mountain base.

This patch of loess was different from the surroundings; it was easily firm and hard elsewhere, but here it was a massive expanse of powdery soil!

Ling Feng stepped onto it, feeling exceedingly soft, and upon pressing down hard, his foot sank in.

He crouched down, picked up so soil powder, scrutinized it but found nothing out of the ordinary.

Ling Feng pondered for a mont and summoned Tian Lian.

With no one else around, he had to consult with her.

"Master, do you want to check what’s underneath?" Tian Lian looked at the loess and asked.

Ling Feng nodded: "This terrain here is different from the surroundings, I want to know what’s going on."

"Alright!"

Tian Lian nodded and added, "I’ll have Little Hei take a look!"

With that, Little Hei, perched on her shoulder, hopped onto the ground and burrowed into the loess.

After a while, it erged from the soil.

Then Tian Lian told Ling Feng, "Little Hei found that this soil has recently beco like this. Below, there’s a collapsed channel leading underground."

"Understood."

Ling Feng nodded, having grasped the answer.

Clearly, the monsters originated from sowhere underground.

If it were just Lvliu Village with issues, he would certainly have Little Hei continue exploring underground to find the monster source.

But now there’s no need; they are appearing nationwide, indicating a deep underground lair with multiple tunnels dispersing them.

These monster appearances are likely related to an underground civilization.

This matter seems known only to Huaxia for now, with other countries unaware.

Reflecting on the situation, Ling Feng let Tian Lian return to the Jade Pendant and turned back towards Lvliu Village.

By now, the villagers had returned, having tallied their ho losses.

The main losses are food, like grains and vegetables; otherwise, there’s almost no damage, and Zhang Jinshan also declined Ling Feng’s offer for compensation. These items are not valuable; they can collectively buy more.

The key issue now is the instability of people’s hearts; everyone is scared by those black-haired monsters; despite returning ho, fear persists over when such creatures might erge again.

Dayti is manageable, but if they appear at night when people are sleeping, it could be disastrous!

Ling Feng also realized the problem and said to Lin Yu: "Call the bureau, have them bring equipnt and install a warning system around the village!"

"Okay, but boss, if it’s installed in Lvliu Village, what about other villages?" Lin Yu asked.

"Don’t worry, I’ve found their source. If they appear again, it will only be from the mountains and won’t disturb nearby villages." Ling Feng said.

"Alright!"

Lin Yu nodded and went to make the call.

Chen Hong then asked, "You found the source, why not continue tracking?"

"It’s a long story; I’ll explain to you later!"

Ling Feng said and dialed Zhang He.

Once connected, he imdiately asked, "How is it? Any new developnts?"
