Chapter 1092: Chapter 1092: Intestinal Colic
Ling Feng sat quietly for a mont and muttered to himself, "It seems I still need to find so of the local elders. Maybe I can ask about what happened back then!"
At six in the morning, Ling Feng teleported back to the mountainous region, then packed up the Teleportation Array and stepped into the village.
This was a small mountain village with just over twenty households, and faint blue cooking smoke was ascending from every chimney. A brand new day had arrived.
Ling Feng didn’t go to Little Lian’s house. Instead, he arrived at the first household at the village entrance and stood outside the fence. He called out loudly, "Is anyone ho?"
Inside the house, soone was indeed there. You could see them even from outside.
But to conceal his own identity, he could only pretend to be a passing tourist seeking help.
After his shout, an elderly figure pushed open the door and looked at Ling Feng. "What’s the matter?"
"Hello, sir. I’m a tourist exploring the mountains. I got lost last night and only saw this village at dawn. Could I trouble you for a drink of water?" Ling Feng asked with a smile.
"Oh, co in!"
People from the mountains are inherently simple and kind, always willing to help. Seeing that Ling Feng didn’t seem like a deceitful person, the old man nodded in agreent.
Ling Feng stepped into the courtyard and followed the old man into the house. He noticed that this household consisted solely of the elder himself. The room was very basic, with hardly any electrical appliances.
After drinking the water offered by the elder, Ling Feng thanked him and then asked, "Sir, are you living alone here?"
"Yes, my wife passed away a few years ago. Now it’s just
left in this house!"
The old man nodded and then looked at Ling Feng. "Young man, you’re exploring the mountains, but you don’t seem to have brought any luggage with you?"
"I got lost last night and ended up losing my belongings. I’m planning to look for them during the day," Ling Feng explained.
Saying this, he felt a pang of helplessness. Once you tell one lie, you have to fabricate countless more to maintain it—it truly is troubleso!
The old man didn’t dwell on it and rely responded with an "Oh," then added, "Our area is full of dense forests and high mountains. I hope you still rember where you ca from; otherwise, it might be difficult to find your things. If you need, I’ll help find a few people later to search for them with you!"
"No need to trouble yourself. I’m not in a rush—consider it part of enjoying the scenery, and I’ll search slowly." Ling Feng chuckled.
At this point, he intended to shift the topic and inquire about Longyu, the Prince, but suddenly soone outside the courtyard shouted, "Grandpa Zhao, co quickly! My dad’s looking for you!"
The voice was crisp and feminine, and Ling Feng turned to look. The mont he saw her, he was taken aback.
Standing at the courtyard gate was a tall, slender girl with a ponytail. Her figure was slim, and her appearance was breathtakingly beautiful, even rivaling Mo Jiaolan and others!
Ling Feng couldn’t help but marvel. Who would’ve thought that such a remote mountain village would have such a stunning girl!
Hearing the girl’s words, the old man turned to Ling Feng and said, "I’m sorry; I have sothing to attend to!"
"Alright, I won’t keep you. I’ll be on my way," Ling Feng replied, nodding as he left the house.
The girl froze montarily upon seeing a stranger stepping outside.
"I’m just passing through and stopped to ask for so water," Ling Feng explained.
The girl replied with an "Oh," and as soon as the old man exited, she quickly said, "Grandpa Zhao, my dad woke up this morning and suddenly started having abdominal pain. Please hurry and check on him!"
"Alright, let’s go!"
The old man didn’t waste any ti, nodding as he followed the girl.
Ling Feng watched their backs, hesitated for a mont, and then decided to follow them.
He hadn’t expected the old man to be the village’s doctor. Unsure of the quality of his dical expertise, Ling Feng felt this might be an opportunity to build rapport with the locals while gathering information.
Up ahead, the elder and the girl walked briskly. Ling Feng followed behind and soon saw them enter the house in the western part of the village.
Ling Feng quickly followed but didn’t notice Little Lian standing in the courtyard of a neighboring household, staring at his back with a face full of surprise.
As Ling Feng entered the courtyard with Zhao and the girl, the two finally noticed him and turned to look at him in surprise.
"I know a bit about dicine myself. I thought maybe I could help out," Ling Feng explained.
"Oh, co in then!"
Zhao replied and stepped inside.
Ling Feng entered and saw that this household’s condition was slightly better than Zhao’s, judging by the furniture layout and overall environnt. But it was clear they weren’t particularly well-off; life here seed anything but affluent.
He didn’t think much of it. On the bed lay a middle-aged man, his complexion pale as a sheet, drenched in cold sweat—clearly in severe pain.
Beside him stood a woman with a deeply anxious expression, who seed to be his wife.
"Uncle Zhao, please take a look. What’s wrong with my husband?" the woman pleaded desperately as soon as she saw Zhao.
"Don’t worry; I’ll check."
The old man reassured her, taking a seat beside the man and reaching out to check his pulse.
Monts later, Zhao furrowed his brows. "It’s intestinal strangulation. He’ll need to be taken to the hospital for surgery!"
He then turned to the woman and said, "Hehua’s mother, go call for a vehicle imdiately. This is urgent and cannot be delayed!"
"Huh? To the hospital?"
Hehua’s mother froze upon hearing this, her eyes vacant as if in shock. She remained rooted in place without moving.
The girl chid in at this mont, "I’ll go! I wonder if Ergou is ho—if he is, that’ll make things easier!"
With that, she turned and ran out of the house. Hehua’s mother tried to call her back but, for so reason, her lips trembled and no words ca out.
At that mont, Zhao said, "Don’t worry; I still have so money at ho. I’ll bring it over for you!"
He had recognized Hehua’s mother’s embarrassnt—they clearly couldn’t afford it!
"If it’s surgery, it’ll cost at least ten thousand, won’t it?" Hehua’s mother asked, biting her lip.
"Probably, but don’t overthink it. Saving his life is more important than anything else. This is acute; if we don’t act, it could be disastrous!" Zhao replied.
"Alright then."
Hehua’s mother lowered her head, saying nothing more.
Ling Feng stood nearby, quietly sighing to himself before speaking up. "Sir, why don’t you let
give it a try?"
Ling Feng imdiately stepped forward, knowing the man had appendicitis—commonly referred to as intestinal strangulation. He believed this illness was a simple one for him to resolve, and he didn’t want to see the family plunged into poverty because of dical bills.
Zhao blinked in surprise, turning to look at him. "Young man, do you have dicine on you?"
"No, but I have Silver Needles. I can use acupuncture for treatnt!" Ling Feng replied.
"Hmm?"
Zhao hesitated for a mont, studying Ling Feng carefully before asking, "Acupuncture to treat intestinal strangulation? I’ve never heard of that!"
Ling Feng smiled helplessly and explained, "It’s a family secret passed down from my ancestors. Most people wouldn’t know about it!"
"Is that so? Well then, this old man would certainly like to see it for himself!" Zhao said.
