Chapter 105: Chapter 105: The Conspiracy Succeeds

"You got it wrong, that’s not the key to my dormitory, but to the duty room next door. Did you really think I’d let you into my room to sleep?" Li Shiyun asked with a mischievous tone.

No sooner had she finished speaking than the giggling of Mo Jiaolan and Chen Yuhe could be heard from the other end of the phone. Clearly, they were both listening in!

Thinking of the scene of the three girls taking showers together, Ling Feng felt a surge of heat in his heart and cursed himself for being a fool. He shouldn’t have agreed to stay, even if it ant sleeping on the concrete floor!

But it was too late for regrets now, so he could only shake his head helplessly, "Fine, I get it, I won’t disturb your shower anymore!"

After hanging up, he turned and walked to the duty room next door, inserted the key into the lock, and with a click, the door opened.

Inside was a bed with a set of army green bedding placed on top, the cheap kind you could get for a few tens of yuan in the market. Ling Feng felt sowhat depressed as he flopped onto the bed, wishing he could fall asleep imdiately!

Unfortunately, the more he wanted to sleep, the more elusive it beca. After tossing and turning for a while, he simply sat up again.

"This won’t do. If things keep going like this, it looks like I’ll have to live in this duty room for a while!" Ling Feng muttered to himself.

Since Li Shiyun and Mo Jiaolan had beco good friends, the three of them were together tonight and would likely be together tomorrow night. What was he going to do?

Scratching his head as he thought about this, Ling Feng felt he must co up with a plan. Otherwise, he’d be at too much of a loss.

After spinning his eyes around, an idea suddenly ca to him, so he got up and left the duty room. Under the cover of night, he left the village committee office and headed straight for the transforr at the eastern end of the village!

Ling Feng’s idea was straightforward. Power outages were common every now and then in Shiliu Village, and the villagers were used to it, but Mo Jiaolan and Chen Yuhe definitely would not be accustod to it.

If there were a blackout, the three girls might get scared. Wouldn’t they have to phone him for help?

Reaching under the transforr, Ling Feng looked up and thought, "Sorry, villagers. For my happiness, you all will have to light candles tonight."

"Swoosh!"

A stone flew up into the air, striking the switch above the transforr, sparking a string of electric sparks instantly.

Ling Feng turned to see the lights in the village hos go out all at once, and he couldn’t help but chuckle to himself!

The first step of his plan was successful; he imdiately snuck back to the village committee office.

After a while, his phone rang. Ling Feng deliberately asked in a groggy voice, "What’s up?"

"Ling Feng, are you asleep? Did the village have another power outage?" Li Shiyun asked.

"Let

check?" Ling Feng got up from the bed and fumbled for the light switch in the room, then said, "Seems like it. My light isn’t working either."

"Then, can you co back? We’ve run out of candles at ho, and it’s so dark," Li Shiyun quickly asked.

Ling Feng chuckled inwardly but hesitated for a mont, "Well, I wouldn’t have anywhere to sleep if I went back."

"Doesn’t matter, why not just take the bedding from the duty room back with you?" Li Shiyun suggested.

"..."

Ling Feng, who was still rejoicing internally, hadn’t anticipated this option and was instantly bewildered.

But Li Shiyun was right, and he had no other excuse, so he reluctantly said, "Okay then, I’ll be right back."

After hanging up the phone, he rolled up the bedding from the bed and left, heading to his own house.

After all, being able to return ho was a success, and it was worth it even if he had to sleep on the floor!

When he arrived at his front door, Ling Feng pushed at it, finding it still locked from the inside, so he knocked.

A mont later, Li Shiyun’s timid voice ca from inside, "Who’s there?"

"I, I’m back!" Ling Feng said.

The door was then opened, and with the light from the cellphone screen, Li Shiyun took one look at him and was startled, letting out a shriek!

Her cry drew Chen Yuhe and Mo Jiaolan, both of whom rushed to the interior door and asked, "What’s wrong?"

Ling Feng, equally puzzled, looked at Li Shiyun under the cellphone’s light, "What’s the matter with you?"

"You scared

to death! Ling Feng, did you do this on purpose? Why is your face all ssed up?" Li Shiyun asked, patting her chest.

Ling Feng was confused and stepped into the room. Then, looking at himself in the mirror, he was speechless!

His face was sared with blotches of black—it was blood!

Only then did he rember back when he had received a phone call saying that three girls were showering. He felt his nose warm and didn’t think much of it at the ti. Wiping it away casually with his hand, only now did he realize it was a nosebleed!

"I didn’t do it on purpose. I got a nosebleed earlier and didn’t notice!" Ling Feng quickly washed his face with water, then explained after cleaning up.

The room was a bit dark, illuminated only by the dim light radiating from everyone’s cellphone screens, but he could still clearly see that the three girls were dressed very lightly, all in tank tops and shorts!

The only difference was the colors of their outfits, but that hardly mattered. After all, each of the three was fair-skinned, beautiful, and leggy—the clothes were no longer the attraction!

Seeming to notice his gaze, Li Shiyun suddenly said, "It’s good that you’re back—we won’t be scared anymore. Let’s rest up quickly."

After locking the door, she pulled Mo Jiaolan and Chen Yuhe into the interior room.

Once the door was closed, Ling Feng tossed his bedding carelessly on the floor and lay down contentedly.

Just seeing the girls in their nightwear was satisfaction enough for him, far better than squatting alone in that dreary village committee office!

A while later, as Ling Feng was about to drift off into a drowsy slumber, a flash of lightning suddenly cut across the outside sky, followed by a booming thunderclap!

Accompanying the loud thunder, a deluge of rain sounds followed—it had started to rain.

Ling Feng got up to look outside and saw the rain coming down heavily. The sky was alight with continuous flashes of lightning and the thunder rumbled on so loudly it felt as if the house were trembling.

"The weather was fine before nightfall, but this rain sure is fierce!"

Muttering to himself, Ling Feng got up to close the windows to prevent rainwater from drifting in and wetting the furniture.

At that mont, the interior room door opened, and Chen Yuhe peeked out at him.

"What’s up? You’re not afraid of the thunder, are you?" Ling Feng asked, approaching.

"With the thunder so loud, how can anyone sleep?" Chen Yuhe said, pouting.

She was right; with the thunder and lightning following one after another in the sky, even soone who had taken a sleeping pill would be awakened.

"Then don’t sleep. The rain ca quickly, it’ll likely stop soon. We can sleep later," Ling Feng suggested.

No sooner had he finished speaking than another bright flash of lightning streaked across the night sky, and Chen Yuhe imdiately clung to his arm!

"Crack!"

The thunderclap was much louder than the previous ones, rattling the glass in the windows vehently, indicating its power.

"I’m scared!" Chen Yuhe’s body trembled slightly, nearly clinging to Ling Feng’s entire fra.

"It’s okay, I’m here. Let’s go inside and check on Shiyun and Jiaolan," Ling Feng said secretly pleased, smiling.

Unexpected gains tonight—who knew the rain would co just in ti!
