Chapter 23: NASDAQ Group’s Capture Operation
“Rather than letting this cybernetic body benefit the NASDAQ Group, it’s better to give it to Alice and leave after the final surgery,” Dr. Jack said to Luo Sheng, looking at Alice with her incomplete body.
“Where to?” Luo Sheng asked curiously.
“The Resistance Organization,” Dr. Jack replied, then lifted Alice onto the operating table, preparing for surgery.
“Is it that urgent?”
“There’s no ti left. Go guard the entrance.”
With that, Dr. Jack pressed the clinic’s reaction device. Instantly, tal shutters ca down, and red lights illuminated the inside of the clinic. Many computers and machines started their automatic self-destruct programs.
Luo Sheng was left stunned by the sight.
“Dr. Jack, this is…?”
Dr. Jack didn’t hide anything and said plainly, “I’m a mber of the Resistance Organization. But now, because of you and , we’ve been exposed.”
Luo Sheng wanted to apologize, but the other had already pushed Alice into the operating room.
He planned to install this super biochanical body on her.
Luo Sheng also learned about the Resistance Organization’s affairs.
It was actually a civilian organization resisting Sky City. Today’s Sky City was no longer the glory of humanity, but had beco the property of interest groups or the rich.
They controlled the Alliance’s upper echelons through vast amounts of money, thereby controlling everything, and constructing an eternal static world.
They established violent institutions, controlled world resources, closed off channels for advancent, and continuously sucked blood from civilians. They used entertainnt and addictive products to weaken the civilians’ will and ability to resist, thus building a pyramid of power.
At the top of the pyramid were the conglorates and the rich. They were local tyrants, firmly controlling everything and enjoying everything.
The people at the bottom were the objects of their enslavent and exploitation, working for them generation after generation.
This is what’s called today: a cyberpunk world of collapsed authority and unbalanced order.
Therefore, the Resistance Organization was born. They depicted a world after overthrowing the rule of conglorates and the Alliance, a world of the people.
Simply put, it was to create a utopian society where the young are nurtured, the students are educated, the workers are rewarded, the sick are treated, and the elderly are cared for.
Dr. Jack ca from there, becoming an undercover agent infiltrating the Earth City-State of Detroit, just to collect intelligence on Sky City and the Alliance, as well as the weaknesses of the NASDAQ Group.
Now that Luo Sheng and Alice were wanted, he naturally couldn’t escape the fate of being scrutinized.

A loud rumbling sound ca from outside the clinic.
A Black Hawk patrol aircraft using an axle-less ion propulsion system (similar to the Samson in Avatar) hovered outside the clinic. Its strong spotlights shone down like the midday sun, instantly dispelling the night.

Then he saw a figure without temperature erge from under the ice. A flash of golden cold light, and this guard’s head was separated from his body.

Red flashes also erupted from within the black mist.
The Black Hawk patrol aircraft pilots originally thought the flashes were the effect of their machine guns.
A second later, they no longer thought so.
The flashes burst out of the black mist, and they realized they were actually fireballs, equally densely bombarding the patrol aircraft. The pilots’ faces turned pale as they hurriedly maneuvered the Black Hawk to escape, but unfortunately, the patrol aircraft was not as agile as the fireballs.
“No!!!”
Screams ca from the cockpit.
Instantly, flas shot up, and the patrol aircraft beca a fireball illuminating the entire sky above the Detroit City-State. Finally, it beca a grand firework blooming open, visible even from Sky City above the earth city below.
The black-clothed guard team under the jurisdiction of the Detroit City-State and NASDAQ Group, which surrounded the clinic, was completely wiped out in less than 5 minutes.
After the black mist and icy world dissipated, flas flickered on the ground, corpses were scattered everywhere, and not far away, a damaged Black Hawk patrol aircraft was burning fiercely.

Alice slowly walked out of the operating room.
Now she looked more like a human, no longer a bare chanical cybernetic body, but a flawless figure. The interfaces of the cybernetic body were even invisible, as if they were innate.
Especially the body without excess fat, beautiful body curves, and long legs in perfect golden ratio with the body, beautiful to the point of feeling unreal.
Except for the pulse energy device exposed on the spine, about the size of a palm.
“How is it?” Alice asked.

Near the clinic, an officer with a cigarette in his mouth, stepping on scrap tal, cursed through gritted teeth: “Damn it, they got away!”
A soldier suddenly ca to report: “A car has been found rapidly leaving Detroit!”
“It should be them. Stop the pursuit. Let those old n in the conglorate worry about it. The area outside the city is not under our jurisdiction,” the officer said, throwing away his cigarette butt.
