Chapter 148: A Major Shift in Perspective
A large group of demi-humans erged from the dilapidated small town, holding broken wooden bows and arrows, wearing straw sandals, and clothes full of patches with holes as big as fists visible. As the cold wind blew, their clothes billowed.
Many stood shivering in the snow.
“What’s the situation now? Can we really eat at?” a minotaur asked, rubbing his body and trembling slightly.
A dog-man replied, “I heard a human said that if we follow him, we’ll have at to eat.”
“Follow him and have at to eat? Do you an we’ll eat him?” a cat-person joked.
Imdiately, those around burst into laughter. After all, demi-humans and humans were originally not on good terms, and now they actually needed help from a human, which felt sowhat strange.
They used this kind of joking manner to add so lively atmosphere in the icy snow, making themselves feel a little warr.
At this mont, a werewolf guard walked over, “You bastards, stop mumbling here. Hurry up and lead them to the mountain where you often hunt. Do you still want to eat at or not?”
“Yes, yes, yes.”
Then they could only scurry over to Luo Sheng’s vicinity.
A cat-person said sowhat respectfully, “Sir, that area is where we often hunt, but now the mountains are sealed by heavy snow. All the good things are buried underneath. It’s only suitable for hunting when the weather warms up.”
The mountain he pointed to was now covered in snow, with no green vegetation visible anywhere, all buried under the heavy snow. Even the presence of animals couldn’t be detected.
The minotaur said from the side, “Sir, can you really let us eat at?”
Luo Sheng, with his hands behind his back, spoke with the air of an expert, “I can only give you a suitable hunting ground. As for whether you can eat at or not, that depends on you.”
Because he hadn’t used that card before and wasn’t entirely confident about his own card, he could only give an ambiguous answer.
However, a silver 4-star 【Spring Returns to Earth】 card should have decent effects.
Luo Sheng followed them to that snowy mountain.
Then, he activated the 【Spring Returns to Earth】 card in his hand. Suddenly, the sky beca overcast with dense clouds. With the sound of thunder, a mottled rain began to fall from the sky, wetting a large area.
This rainwater didn’t turn into fine ice despite the cold weather, but instead lted all the snow on the ground, revealing the moist surface beneath.
The originally cold environnt now beca incredibly warm.
It was as if spring had returned to the earth. This mountain range gradually revealed a large amount of green vegetation, and the air was mixed with the fragrance of soil.
Many demi-humans were hit by these dewdrops, and their originally dejected mood was relieved. A sense of vibrant life spread through their bodies.
The sa was true for the vegetation.
Under the nourishnt of the rain, it quickly took root, sprouted, and grew into green leaves. Soon, this mountain beca an erald paradise in the midst of a hundred li of silver snow.
Bird songs could be heard, and occasionally a few rabbits that had awakened from hibernation could be seen foraging in the jungle.
“This is too amazing!” The minotaur exclaid, “I feel like all my drowsiness has disappeared.”
“Our small town hasn’t seen such a scene for a long ti. We don’t know how many winters have passed,” other demi-humans were equally dumbfounded, standing in place, their mouths open wide enough to stuff an egg in.
At this ti, the 【Spring Returns to Earth】 card was still emitting light, and the fine drizzle continued to nourish this land, causing plants to grow rapidly.
Luo Sheng reminded the demi-human hunters who were still in shock: “Alright, take advantage of the ti to go hunting quickly. I can only help you this far.”
“Okay,” the cat-person imdiately nodded.
Then he called out to his other companions, and they hurriedly went deep into the forest to hunt. After all, the heavy snow had lasted for a long ti, and their period of famine was almost as long as the duration of snowfall.
Many people were full of energy, with flat stomachs, rushing into the forest like a pack of hungry wolves.
“There are so many mushrooms here!” A dog-person discovered a large number of white mushrooms on a wooden stake, deftly picking them and throwing them into a basket.
“How can there be fruits in the dead of winter?”
“Co quickly, there are several rabbit holes here!”
Other demi-humans also discovered good things. Under the nourishnt of the rain, the earth seed full of vitality. They all found sources of food, including fruits, mushrooms, or small animals that ca out to forage.
This was unimaginable before. Since Levni beca the lord of the small town, the heavy snow had never stopped, apparently turning this place into a desolate snow-covered land.
So people blad everything on Levni, and many cursed her behind her back.
anwhile.
In the castle of the small town.
Levni stood on the balcony, looking into the distance.
She saw Luo Sheng’s thod, which was to use a strange magic to return the cold earth to warmth. In the distance, a mountain was lush and green, like sumr.
It looked rather out of place on this snow-covered land, involuntarily drawing people’s gaze.
“So this is the thod, quite unexpected,” Levni found the scene before her very interesting.
At so point, an ice chair appeared behind her. Levni sat down gracefully, crossing her fair and lustrous legs.
Admiring the patch of green in the distance, she was truly an elegant yet absurd lady.
Until dusk.
Outside the gate of the small town, the demi-human hunters who had been called out this morning all wore smiles on their faces, holding various small ga in their hands, with fruits and lons hanging at their waists, returning with a full load.
If it wasn’t for the darkness and lack of extra hands, they wouldn’t have wanted to co back.
The return of the hunters imdiately attracted the attention of many townspeople.
“I didn’t expect what that human said was true! He actually had a way.” Other demi-humans who had been starving in the small town all day showed surprised expressions.
“Great, we finally don’t have to starve anymore!”
“Although he’s human, it’s undeniable that he saved us.”
Seeing the hunters’ bountiful harvest and that food in the small town could be relieved, the people in the town beca increasingly respectful towards Luo Sheng, no longer discriminating against him as before.
After all, he had proven everything with his ability and facts.
Luo Sheng could see that the originally unfriendly gazes had now softened considerably, and so people even greeted him, constantly addressing him as “sir, sir.”
At this ti, the werewolf guard ca over, “Mr. Luo, the lord invites you to dinner. Please co with .”
Luo Sheng nodded and followed the werewolf guard to the castle.
On the way, he kept guessing about Levni’s personality, wondering how she had beco stronger, because helping the small town didn’t seem to benefit her much. Luo Sheng hadn’t seen any substantial growth in her strength.
It was still that old small castle, and occasionally cracks could be seen on the walls, letting in a bit of cold wind.
On the old dining table, a few candles were lit.
Levni sat gracefully in the main seat, her slender waist lightly leaning against the chair back, one hand propping up her chin, gazing aimlessly at the table.
As Luo Sheng arrived, Levni simply said, “Sit down.”
