Chapter 671
The mont Anton was inside his room, he went to his bathroom and used a scroll of town portal. When he entered his room in the Rose Manor, as usual, he imdiately cast the Blizzard spell, turned into Mana Rain.
He rembered thinking that before he acquired the ability to use the town portal scroll, he thought that an instance would arrive where the gardens and the fruit orchards would revert to being ordinary, mundane fields due to his being away from the manor, but now, he was ho three or four tis a week.
As expected, Raymond arrived soon after with food and tea. Anton liked the fact that the family butler always ca with food, even if Anton arrived at odd hours. Sadly, his father was not present. More than likely, Anders was inside one of the high-level dungeons.
While he was eating the snacks that Raymond brought, the butler reported the Rose Manor’s status, including the state of its businesses, Luna, and Alfred’s well-being, and more. One thing that interested Anton was that there was surplus mana-filled wheat in the manor’s warehouses that ca from the field between the gardens and the fruit orchards. At first, the manor’s servants thought that due to how delicious the bread that was cooked from the wheat and due to the resident’s large consumption of the bread, even though the tiny field’s produce was unbelievably large, the amount was just enough for the Rose Manor, but everyone underestimated the production capabilities of the tiny wheat field blessed by Mana Rain.
The flowers and fruits that ca from the gardens and the orchards were also massive, but since most of their output was always brought to the Rose Manor’s business establishnts, the total amount produced by the gardens and the orchards was not noticeable by the regular employees of the manor, and only the higher-ups were aware.
The problem was that the warehouse assigned to house the wheat was now full, and they were actually waiting for him or Anders to decide what needed to be done.
Anton carelessly threw the responsibility on his father’s shoulders. More than likely, Anders would also just throw the responsibility on either Romina, Bruce, or Susan’s shoulders. At the very least, they could just let the wheat remain in the warehouse since it did have an extrely long shelf life. Raymond and Mrs. Noria took it upon themselves to hire a wizard to inlay so sort of runes that would make sure that no pest would enter the manor’s warehouses.
The butler inford him that the manor’s wealth was growing extrely fast and that the family’s fortunes could rival so of the bigger families near them. The Rose Manor’s businesses were doing extrely well.
“Are we not encountering malicious attacks due to so sort of jealousy or greed?” Anton asked Raymond.
“We did encounter so, but the manor’s business was unique and much too specialized. Not only that, but everyone was already aware that your father is a very powerful adventurer capable of soloing high-level dungeons. Your sister's reputation had also grown. She was one of the magic academies' upcoming powerful wizard, beloved by her school’s higher-ups, and your reputation as an unofficial Supre Rank wizard fighting the undead in the front lines also added to the manor’s reputation, so it was not a good idea to beco the family’s enemies.”
Raymond did tell Anton that, in the grand sche of things in Ormunda, they were still occupying an extrely small corner of it and were still considered part of the unimportant families in the kingdom.
Anton just shrugged and asked the butler when his father would be back. Raymond told him that Anders would be ho in three days. He told Raymond that he would rejoin the fight against the undead, and the frequency of his returning to the Rose Manor would probably dwindle.
“Ms. Luna requested the next episodes of the television shows that they’re currently watching,” Raymond said.
He gave the next episodes of Avatar: The Last Airbender to the butler and was a little thankful that he had given Romina a lot of movies. It was good that the family cinema was only showing three movies a month at a ti, so there was no need for him to provide more.
He was amused when Raymond reported that the Cosplay business was booming in their corner of the kingdom. Anton thought that it was a good idea that the family did not enter the Cosplay and Toys businesses based on the movies, since he told Romina that it would be a good idea to let so of the other families share the pie that was the movie business.
After his talk with Raymond, Anton returned to his room in New Drennor. He still had a couple of days before he needed to return to the front lines. Anton admitted to himself that he was an extrely lazy person and would prefer to enjoy himself and have little adventures inside the dungeon and inside his Diablo II system, but he knew how hungry the Undead Coalition was. He wanted to contribute to the fight against them.
When one looked at New Drennor or Ormunda, one would think that it was impossible for an organization like the Undead Coalition to conquer them due to how gigantic both kingdoms were. Not only that, the number of powerful wizards in both kingdoms was staggeringly huge. According to Captain Nando, ndoza’s size was only one percent of New Drennor and Ormunda and was more like a huge town instead of a true kingdom. When he truly looked at New Drennor and Ormunda, his theory that the Undead Coalition would conquer everything under the sun and that the human beings would rely on so sort of last bastion, he had to admit that it was a little laughable.
Even Anders and Anna said so after a while. He rembered when both his father and Anna started to believe his “Last Bastion” theory, the reality of Ormunda was thrust upon them. The kingdom was simply too large and too powerful for it would blow Anton’s theory to dust.
If he was being honest, Anton preferred to believe that both kingdoms were too powerful to be conquered and that he could calm down and live his life while growing in power. He decided to hold off on any kind of decision and would only co to a conclusion based on what would happen in New Drennor’s fight against the undead.
Anton did notice that none of the citizens were worried about the undead. Yes, so form of changes had been brewing in the kingdom of New Drennor, like the stricter policies that provided more order, but Ishmael told Anton that it was just a result of a political move of so of the wizard politicians to acquire more goodwill and power.
All in all, Anton did not know what to think, so he just decided to enjoy himself during the last couple of days of his vacation and would truly decide what to do next based on what would happen with the fight against the Undead Coalition.
If he was being honest, if New Drennor successfully drove off the undead, he could focus on other things, and that excited Anton a little. There were a lot of things he could do. He could explore the continent, and it would be easy since he had the ability to return ho imdiately using the scroll of town portal. He also knew that sooner or later, his Diablo II system would provide him updates that would allow him to beco extrely powerful, and when he truly beca a god-like being, he could then return to Rendindura to attack the Undead Coalition.
