Chapter 609
Looking at the incoming huge army of undead that was as huge as the one that attacked the wall the night before, Anton knew that if he were alone confronting such a gigantic number of enemies, he would not last a second. He knew that he probably also wouldn’t be able to escape, even though he had the Teleport skill and the Telekinesis skill that allowed him to fly. The liches, necromancers, high-level vampires, and under undead or evil spellcasters would do everything in their power to make sure that he would not be able to escape.
The mont the undead were in range, Anton started casting his spells. Just like the night before, he treated himself like a robot, casting spells one after another like clockwork. His Frozen Orbs, teors, Hydras, Blizzards, Fire Walls, and Chain Lightnings appeared in the field nonstop.
Even though the majority of the damage from his spells was blocked by the undead spellcasters, Anton didn’t care and continued his spell casting. At first, he tried to spread out his spells toward the huge army, but he found that it was more effective if he concentrated on just one point. Concentrating on a single area allowed him to destroy the shields protecting the undead there, and soon, the impact of his spells would be able to destroy a large number of the undead.
Aside from his spells, one could see different varieties of spells from the wizards of ndoza. There were fiery tornadoes, forceful mana winds, large boulders of earth, different types of teor, from icy rock to fiery boulders, freezing and fiery hurricanes, tidal waves of water, and different large, summoned creatures.
The undead spellcaster matched the spells that the ndoza wizards cast. They summoned acid rains, huge, black tentacles, deadly rays of different dark elents, ethereal hordes of bats or skulls that explode, and more.
Thankfully, the ritual casters who cast the defensive spells that protected the walls of ndoza were powerful enough to block the spells that the undead spellcasters cast.
Because of the magic array that allowed Anton to see the battlefield clearly, he saw the devastated lands that were occupied by the undead armies. nard told him that the western part of the kingdom of ndoza used to be called one of the best sumr paradises of the Gale Continents. The villages that surrounded the beaches in the west of ndoza were the best looking, and the people were friendly and hospitable. The seafood that one could buy from the fishern of ndoza’s western front was the most delicious.
Now the land was devastated. The once green farmland filled with wheat, and the coconut trees near the beaches were gone. Now, the only thing one could see for miles was death and destruction. The sea that used to glow like oceans of eralds and sapphires under the sun was now inky black.
Anton felt sad, then wrathful. The Undead Coalition was truly a disease of this planet, and in his opinion, it was a disease that needed to be cut off and burnt without prejudice. He hated the undead so much that he even started to hate the Necromancer character inside his Diablo II system, which was illogical.
When the undead horde finally reached the area where the ndoza warriors needed to engage them, Anton’s summons tried their best to protect the defenders of the kingdom. The main difference between Anton’s summons and the warriors was that his summons were almost careless in their pursuit of protecting the defenders of ndoza, to the point that all of them always died imdiately.
The warriors were extrely grateful. Anton didn’t care if his summons died, since if they did, he just summoned them imdiately. The ditation Aura allowed him to cast his spells, even the summoning ones, nonstop.
Anton truly felt like a machine. He felt his mind closing, except for the action of casting his spells without stopping. Even though his spells were being blocked by the undead spellcaster most of the ti, a lot of them still went through, destroying the undead, and it felt cathartic to Anton. The view of him destroying the undead made him feel like he was watching so sort of ASMR video, causing him to relax and almost get sleepy. But of course, Anton was still mindful of where he was and what needed to be done.
When the undead finally retreated, Anton disengaged from the magic array and asked Cedon if he could leave. When he received the confirmation that he could rest, Anton imdiately returned to his apartnts.
Anton noticed that his summons died several tis protecting the warriors of ndoza. His summons was powerful. Not only do they reflect Anton’s power, but they were cast while he was inside a magic array that strengthened spells. That ant that the army of undead was truly dangerous, and he thought of his previous squad mber assigned to a small section of the western wall. Even though he tried his best not to befriend them, since he thought that they would probably die because it was war, and he did not want to be heartbroken again, just like what happened when his friends were destroyed by the undead on the sea, getting close to them was inevitable.
He decided to create summoning tablets that would allow them to summon Dire Wolves. The only material that he could use was his gold coins, and the dire wolves summoned using the golden tablet wouldn’t be as powerful as his Dire Wolves. Not only that, once the dire wolves from the tablet died, they would be truly gone.
Anton felt that it didn’t matter since they could still save his previous team from certain demise. He arrived at his apartnt at around five in the morning, and after three hours of crafting and enchanting, and 20,000 gold coins deducted from his inventory, which only had 200,000 gold coins, he managed to create 10 Dire Wolves summoning tablets.
He imdiately exited his apartnt and asked one of the guards if he could hire a carriage that would drive him towards the barracks where his previous team was located. It would have been faster if he flew, but flying was not allowed inside the walls of ndoza, just like Ormunda. After a few minutes, the hired carriage arrived at the barracks, and thankfully, everyone except for the girls, since their barracks were located sowhere else, was there.
“Anton, you’re here again. Is sothing the matter?” Captain Leonard asked.
Apparently, the captain took over the bed that Anton was using previously instead of staying where the captains were supposed to stay.
“I was just worried about you all since the horde in the center section of the wall was truly imnse,” Anton said.
“You don’t need to worry too much about us. This location doesn’t receive many attacks from the undead.”
“I’ve fought the undead here as well, Captain, so I know the situation here. There’s no safe place in the Western Wall of ndoza. I’ve brought sothing that can help everyone,” Anton said, then he retrieved the summoning tablets from his inventory.
Everyone stared at the 10 golden tablets that Anton was holding.
“These tablets are summoning tablets. Each one of them will allow the holder to summon a powerful Dire Wolf. Once the wolf was summoned, the tablet would be destroyed. The wolf would remain and would be loyal to the summoner, but since it’s here in our plane permanently, it needed to eat to survive. The summoner would need to feed the wolf, but the wolf can eat anything, even the undead corpses, and they don’t need to defecate, and they would always be clean since they are not truly alive and are just mana constructs.”
