"How are you related to the patient?" Dr. Han Soojin asked Kang Jinwook with a professional deanor.

"No relation at all."

But it wasn’t Jinwook who answered—it was Sunwoo.

Sunwoo’s eyes were filled with the implication that there wasn’t anything special between them. Jinwook caught the look and frowned deeply, while Dr. Han’s eyes twinkled with curiosity.

Although she wasn’t sure of the exact relationship between this Alpha and Choi Sunwoo, Dr. Han knew exactly who the man was.

After all, there were probably very few people in South Korea who didn’t know him.

Kang Jinwook, the Executive Director of Taesung Construction, the most successful subsidiary of Taesung Group, the country’s top conglorate. A dominant Alpha who had surpassed his older brother, Vice President Kang Jintae, to claim the position of the group’s heir. He had been living abroad since childhood, following an elite path that made him an elite among elites.

Because of this, Kang Jinwook had often appeared in the dia as the face of Taesung Group.

When such a man suddenly showed up at the hospital looking for her, Dr. Han had been genuinely surprised.

“What’s Choi Sunwoo’s diagnosis? Tell .”

He had demanded answers in a blunt, commanding tone, his gaze intimidating. Although Dr. Han was a Beta and not particularly sensitive to Alpha or Oga pheromones, she could feel the overwhelming presence of Kang Jinwook through his sheer expression and deanor alone.

It had made her breathless and caused her body to tense with nervous energy.

Dr. Han had quietly speculated that this man might have sothing to do with Sunwoo’s pregnancy. She had co to this conclusion after he had confronted her when Sunwoo suddenly cut off contact, demanding to know everything she knew.

Despite his terrifying expression, there had been a hint of concern in Jinwook’s eyes when he asked about Sunwoo. She had been curious about the exact nature of their relationship ever since.

‘And now they’ve co together?’

Dr. Han watched the two of them eyeing each other with growing interest.

"No relation at all?" Jinwook snapped, clearly irritated.

"We’re not. You’re not my boss anymore, and we’re not dating, are we?"

Sunwoo shot back, matching Jinwook’s intensity. If they weren’t related, what then? Was Jinwook planning to actually keep him imprisoned in that house?

Sunwoo’s response was sharp and to the point, leaving Jinwook’s eyebrow twitching in displeasure. Even he had to admit that, technically, there wasn’t much connecting them.

But that’s not right!

Suddenly struck by a thought, Jinwook spoke with a self-satisfied expression.

"Why wouldn’t we be related? I already told you what we are, didn’t I?"

"No, that’s…"

For once, Sunwoo found himself at a loss for words, rembering Jinwook’s earlier statent that they were engaged to be married.

Jinwook noticed Sunwoo’s hesitation and smiled, feeling as if he had won so unspoken victory. The situation was suddenly amusing, and Jinwook was enjoying it.

"Now, the person accompanying Choi Sunwoo, would you please wait outside for a mont?"

Dr. Han’s use of the term “accompanying person” clearly implied that she suspected there was so connection between them, yet she still drew a professional line.

Jinwook shot her a nacing glare, and at the sa ti, his powerful pheromones started to radiate, filling the room with an oppressive aura.

“Ugh!”

Sunwoo let out a small groan, clenching his fists. The sudden pressure overwheld his body, making his heart feel like it was being squeezed and his breath grow short.

A thick, intense scent filled his nostrils, reminiscent of a deep, dark forest that seed bottomless.

‘What’s this?’

Sunwoo, bewildered, quickly looked around the room. Was there a plant sowhere? Or was the window open, letting in the scent from outside?

But there was nothing in the room that could produce such a sll. There were a few plants, but they didn’t seem capable of creating such a powerful presence.

Seeing Sunwoo’s panic, Jinwook realized his mistake. He had assud Sunwoo, being a Beta, wouldn’t be affected, but given Sunwoo’s current condition, even this amount of pheromone could be overwhelming.

‘I shouldn’t push him too hard when he’s already not feeling well.’

Jinwook frowned and quickly retracted his pheromones.

“Phew…”

As the pressure lifted, Sunwoo exhaled a sigh of relief, instinctively rubbing his flat stomach in a soothing manner.

Jinwook noticed and frowned again.

"Is your stomach hurting?"

Sunwoo’s hand, which had been absentmindedly rubbing his belly, froze. Jinwook’s concerned gaze made him wonder if he was actually worried. But that couldn’t be.

Sunwoo shook his head, dismissing the thought as ridiculous, and replied.

"Ah, no, not really…"

Jinwook frowned again, clearly unhappy with the situation but unable to do anything about it because of the patient’s presence.

"Sir, accompanying the patient."

Dr. Han, who had briefly stiffened due to the pheromones, quickly recovered and called out to Jinwook, indicating the door with her eyes. She was showing remarkable composure for a doctor, almost unshakable.

Jinwook glared at her, clearly displeased.

He wanted to unleash his pheromones again to intimidate her, but with Sunwoo in the room, he couldn’t risk it.

"Choi Sunwoo, record everything on your phone. I’ll check what was said later."

"That’s illegal, you know?"

Sunwoo looked at Jinwook incredulously, unable to believe that he would so brazenly suggest sothing illegal. But Jinwook wasn’t about to back down.

"It’s not illegal if you’re the one recording. If you don’t want to record, then I’ll listen in."

"Alright, fine."

Sunwoo raised his hands in surrender. Jinwook’s lips briefly curled into a crooked smile before settling back into their usual line.

"Now, please step outside."

Dr. Han finally intervened, watching the two of them with an amused expression.

Jinwook cast one last displeased glance at Dr. Han before leaving the consultation room.

Once the dominant Alpha, who exuded an overwhelming presence just by standing there, was gone, Dr. Han let out a sigh of relief.

"Even though I tried to act calm, there’s no denying that dominant Alphas are different. If it was this hard for

as a Beta, it must have been even tougher for you, Sunwoo."

Dr. Han smiled at Sunwoo as their eyes t.

"I’m fine. I’m not very sensitive to these things. But I’m really sorry for showing up like this so suddenly."

Sunwoo spoke carefully, choosing his words to avoid giving away anything, and bowed his head slightly.

"No, it’s fine. I’ve been worried about you anyway."

"Oh…"

Sunwoo imdiately understood what Dr. Han was referring to and looked genuinely apologetic.

"I’m sorry about that too."

"You suddenly told

sothing like that, then disappeared and even got rid of your phone. But anyway, that’s in the past."

Dr. Han clapped her hands together as if to change the mood.

"I’m just glad you’re not seriously ill. You ntioned earlier that you’ve only been eating fruits and vegetables. Are you dealing with severe morning sickness?"

"Well, no. It’s not too bad. It’s just that certain slls trigger a bit of nausea."

"Then it’s important to make sure you’re eating sothing. You need to keep your strength up, and if your stomach is empty, the stomach acid could actually cause damage."

"Yes, but today I managed to eat so rice porridge."

"That’s good. So the porridge seems to be okay?"

"As long as it’s plain white porridge, yes. I haven’t tried anything else yet, but I think as long as the sll or taste isn’t too strong, I should be fine."

Dr. Han nodded in agreent.

"That’s good enough. It sounds like you have a few things you can eat. Try tofu as well. Not the firm kind, but sothing softer like silken tofu—it doesn’t have a strong sll."

"Silken tofu… Yes, I’ll give it a try."

Sunwoo nodded, realizing that tofu could be a good source of protein, considering he had only been thinking about fruits and vegetables so far.

"Chicken breast might also be an option. Try mixing it into a salad."

As they discussed the diet, Sunwoo suddenly let out a small laugh.

"Sunwoo, what’s so funny?"

"Sorry, I just found it amusing."

Sunwoo covered his mouth with his fist as he apologized. Dr. Han looked at him with a puzzled expression.

She wondered if she had said sothing funny.

"It sounds like a diet plan."

Sunwoo whispered, finding the situation a bit ironic. Dr. Han also smiled and nodded.

"That’s true. We’re focusing on foods that won’t strain your stomach but are still healthy."

"Yes."

"Rember, the baby inside you is going to keep growing. It’ll absorb nutrients from the food you eat."

Dr. Han sighed lightly and continued.

"We don’t know what the baby’s traits will be, but depending on them, you might need to eat more than usual."

"Oh…"

Sunwoo, who still hadn’t fully co to terms with the whole concept of traits, looked slightly overwheld.

"So, I’ll have to ask you a sensitive question, but I need to confirm sothing we discussed over the phone before."

Dr. Han’s tone grew more cautious as she continued.

"Sunwoo, the man who ca with you—is he one of the biological parents of the child?"

"…No."

Dr. Han noticed the slight hesitation before Sunwoo answered.

"I see. And you still don’t rember anything from that day?"

"Yes."

It wasn’t that Sunwoo didn’t rember—it was that he had no mory of it at all.

After all, it wasn’t Sunwoo who had been involved, but the character he had transmigrated into, the side character. And while he knew who the biological father was, he had no intention of acknowledging him. He assud the father felt the sa way.

Sunwoo was determined to raise the child on his own.

‘But it feels like the father keeps hovering around.’

Sunwoo bit the inside of his cheek. It was sothing he really didn’t want to deal with.

"So, what about that man earlier?"

"As I said, we’re not involved."

But for soone who claid they had nothing to do with each other, he certainly seed to have a lot of interest in Sunwoo. Even though Sunwoo pretended otherwise, he clearly kept an eye on him too.

However, Dr. Han chose not to point that out.

Human relationships are like vines, tangled and intertwined.

If a third party intervened carelessly, it could sever the fragile connections, so it was better not to ddle.

Instead, Dr. Han folded her hands and looked at Sunwoo.

"Alright, Sunwoo, here’s what we’ll do."

As Dr. Han spoke, Sunwoo’s eyes widened with surprise.
