Chapter 57: Chapter 57

D A N T E

I finally closed the last file It was very late and I was tired. Antonio was slumped in the chair across from my desk, looking tired too.

"It is good I sent Ariana ho early," I said, rubbing my eyes. "I did not want to pressure her with too much work on her first day. She looked tired."

Antonio nodded. "You did the right thing"

I smiled a little.

"Co on," Antonio said, standing up and stretching. "My driver left for a family ergenc I need you to drop

off."

We walked out of the building together the night was quiet I glanced at my wrist watch and it was almost 1AM.

We were almost at the car when we heard it.

A scream, a woman’s scream it was sharp and full of fear.

I stopped walking.

The sound felt... familiar It tugged at sothing in my chest but I was tired too tired to over think it I just wanted to go ho back to my wife.

Fuck!

Ariana’s comfort was one that calms the storm inside of , her soft body against mine did unimaginable things to

just by the thought of it made my dick harden.

"Did you hear that?" Antonio asked, his head tilted.

Before I could answer, another scream ca.

Louder and more desperate.

"Soone is in trouble," Antonio said, his voice serious. "We should check it out."

I shook my head. "It is probably nothing maybe just couple having a... loud fight or a good fuck. I am exhausted let us go ho."

I started walking toward the car but the screams did not stop they kept coming.

My heart started to beat faster.

That voice... it really did sound familiar.

But no! I couldn’t possibly be Ariana, I had sent her ho earlier so she couldn’t be the one.

Antonio did not listen to

mumbling curses as he ran toward the sound of the screams.

"Dante, co on!" he yelled back at . "This is bad!"

I cursed under my breath I did not want to get involved but I could not let him go alone, he might be a good fighter but thought of him getting overpowered didn’t settle.

I ran after him.

We turned the corner into a dark alley.

And what I saw there made my blood run cold.

Three n and a woman on the ground, her clothes were torn as she was fighting.

It was Ariana.

My Ariana.

A rage like I had never felt before exploded inside

the world turned red.

How? How is it possible that she’s here? I sent her ho, I made sure the driver took her ho cause he called back to report then how is it even possible?

I did not think, i couldn’t I just moved

I roared and launched myself at the man on top of my wife.

I grabbed the man that had almost claid her lips by the neck and threw him against the brick wall he hit it hard and slumped to the ground.

The rage boiled within

my anger was a fire inside

I pulled him up and hit him again again till his face was a ss of blood.

"Dante! Stop!" Antonio’s voice cut through the rage. He grabbed my arm. "He is done! You have to stop! You will kill him!"

I shook him off. "He touched her! He was going to—" I couldn’t even say it I hit the man again.

How dare he lay a finger on my wife? On my Ariana? How dare he?

Antonio put his whole body between

and the man. "Look at her! She needs you! This piece of trash is not important! Ariana is important!"

Her na broke through the red haze.

Ariana.

I let go of the man he fell to the ground, not moving, I turned around.

She was sitting on the cold ground, shaking her clothes were torn her eyes were huge with fear.

My heart hurt.

It was beating so hard against my ribs it felt like it would break out I had never been so scared in my whole life.

Not ever.

I walked to her.

I took off my jacket, putting it around her shoulders very gently.

She looked up at

her lip was bleeding she stared at

with so much fear in her eyes.

God!

I knelt down in front of her I did not know what to say I just looked at her, my heart still pounding.

I had never felt fear like this the thought of what almost happened to her... it made

feel sick.

I reached out a hand, very slowly, and touched her hair.

"It is okay," I whispered, my voice rough. "I am here now. You are safe."

I was not just telling her I was telling myself. I had to make sure she was safe and yet I fucked it up today.

God knows what could have happened to her if Antoine didn’t insist we go check out what was going on, if anything had happened to her, I would have never been able to forgive myself.
