[Chapter 126: Hope in the dark]
Soaring through the sky, Incus beautifully beat down on the shadow copy of her.
Using the ability of [Lightning Hero’s Sword]—Excalibolt—The lightning cloaking her made her blitz almost instantly anywhere, but it drained a lot of mana, so she made the sword and cloak of lightning disappear.
Conjuring a different sword from darkness, the shadow was cloaked in black lightning.
Focusing her version, her left eye glowed the color of crimson purple, she activated the unique skill: [True eye of the Truthseeker].
Dodging and weaving out of the static of black lightning, the shadow’s sword narrowly hitting her every ti. But Incus saw everything.
Dodging a slash, she grabbed the dark sword mid strike and slamd her fist into the shadow’s chest.
The shadow had taken a while to fly back up towards her.
Because of Steinen’s inability to fly, all he could do was stop the other shadows by intercepting those who try to jump at her.
Seeing as a shadow of Incus fell to the ground, he began pumling it with his [Giant slayer great sword] until a small crater ford in the ground, completely disregarding the other shadows that were swinging their weapons at him.
Walking out of the void of shadows, multiple copies of Incus swung their blades at him.
Blocking it with the flat face of the [Giant slayer great sword], he slid across the earth.
"You are nothing but re imitations. Your blades don’t have the sharpness which is engraved inside the original."
Seeing that a copy of Incus left his grasp, he jumped towards the other copies of Incus, to make sure that they don’t hinder Incus.
In the sky, Incus pondered:
’I must try to limit the amount of hero swords I use, or else they’ll just copy it.’
Flying straight into the shadow copy, she jumped off of the [Wind Hero’s sword] and swung downwards.
"Excaliburn!"
A giant arc in the crimson sky ford, completely engulfing the shadow demon.
But to her dismay, the shadow was still alive.
"You’re quite the persistent one."
Jumping towards her, the shadow slamd it’s blade against hers.
Falling down, they clashed blades against each other, the loud sound of iron and false iron clamoring echoed in the air.
Grabbing the shadow by the armor, Incus began an onslaught of cuts and thrusts.
Although it was difficult to see, the shadow was definitely smiling at her.
"Don’t get too cocky, it’s not good for your ntal health."
Continuing their clashing of blades as they descended from the sky, the two of the kicked each other.
Commanding the [Wind Hero’s Sword] to catch her landing, Incus sharply gazed at her shadow and gently smiled.
’I can’t use the techniques I’ve learned as well...’
Seeing as the shadow wasn’t paying attention to her but over the castle walls, she imdiately understood it’s intent.
In a split mont, the shadow flew towards beyond the castle walls, leaving a black trail behind it.
’Oh no you don’t.’
Following swiftly, she felt out her hand, catching the shadow by the ankle before slamming it diagonally towards the other side.
Looking down at her shadow, she accelerated downwards.
Swinging her blade, her eyes widened as shadows appeared from behind the one she clashed blades with.
’Ah, this isn’t good.’
"Excaliburn."
Pushing all the shadows with an explosion, Incus stood gloriously in the crimson sky.
Appearing out of the explosion of fla, the small army of copies circled her.
In the next mont, black flas of shadows engulfed her.
A few monts later, the flas of shadow disappeared.
She had summoned the [Mana Breaking Hero’s Sword], it seems that although the Excaliburn which the shadows had unleashed contained mana, making the sword’s ability effective. But now because of this mages in the army who might still be alive will die because of this, however Incus gently smiled.
The shadow was attempting to conjure the [Mana Breaking Hero’s Sword] but it kept dispersing into the air.
"You can’t copy it. Of course you can’t, this sword has the most purity out of all the others."
Seeing as the remnant of the army was dwindled to practically nothing, she needed to finish this fast. But there was just one problem.
"What the hell is these thing’s weakness?"
All of the shadows which copied her had then began flying over the castle walls.
Intercepting them, Incus swung desperately.
Their battles was like snakes in the air, with every strike echoing in the sky.
Using [Mana sense] and [Perception], her crimson purple eye glowed with extre vigor.
Flying into a vortex the shadows angled their blades to thrust, as Incus flew high into the sky, summoning the [Fire Hero’s Sword] she jumped off the [Wind Hero’s Sword] and swung downwards.
"Excaliburn!"
The arc of fire was bigger than ever before, Incus flew up high in the sky so that she wouldn’t lt the skins of the people on the ground.
Back in the ground, battling against the shadows, Steinen saw as the army was dwindled into a handle of soldiers. Seeing this, he joined their side and swung at the shadows that was about to kill them.
Still persisting and pointed their swords right at her, flying straight up in a straight line.
"Forget being cautious, I won’t hold back anymore."
Summoning all of the hero swords, she used all of their abilities one by one.
"Excalifrost!" Conjuring a shower of ice swords, the shadows copied, a snow of black and shattered glacier fell.
"ExcalEarth!" Pillars of earth rose into the sky, but it was quickly dodged by black lightning cloaking the shadows.
"Excalibright!" An armor of light then appeared on her.
Using the [Wind Hero’s Sword], she stood on the very tip of the blade and accelerated downwards.
Slashing at the nearest shadow, it’s blade dispersed.
Seeing this, Incus thrust glowing blade into the shadow, and hope had wrapped itself around her very being.
The shadow had disappeared.
It was light, their weakness is light.
Smiling gently, she looking jumped up and twisted her body back.
"Even a colony of ants stand no chance against the rain." The wind gently blew against her, as she beca the sun.
"Raging tide of the sky!" A shower of light painted over the crimson sky and eviscerated her copies.
But there was still an ocean of shadows remaining.
Falling straight into the ground, the darkness under her feet disappearing, her eyes glinted.
"Well then, lets finish this."
