??3: Chapter 3 Hoarding
3: Chapter 3 Hoarding
Gu Qiang had called back less than a minute after hanging up.
“Xiao Zhao, I definitely want the shares.
The business your father, Mr.
Gu, started with his own hands―I don’t want to hand it over to outsiders.
It’s safer to keep it within our own family.
Zhizhi and Yan Lin probably think so too.”
“But it’s just the price, I really don’t have that much money.
We’re family, so let’s not mince words—how about 5 billion…” Gu Qiang said, his heart bleeding internally.
“5 billion is too little, uncle.
In that case, I’ll contact President Chen and President Zhang.
If one family can’t swallow it, two definitely can,”
Song Zhao cut him off directly; there was no ti to dawdle.
“No way!
Hand the phone to Zhizhi and Yan Lin.
You outsider, what right do you have to decide for the Gu Family?”
A loud “snap” ca from the other end of the line, followed by Gu Qiang’s angry shout.
“Uncle, I’m listening, everything has been entrusted to Zhaozhao, just discuss it with him.
Yan Lin listens to him too,” Gu Yanzhi spoke nonchalantly, but his words nearly twisted Gu Qiang’s nose in anger.
Suppressing his fury, Gu Qiang then spoke affectionately, “Zhizhi, listen to your uncle’s advice.
It’s better if the Gu Family handles its own matters.
Don’t just listen to outsiders.
You’re unfamiliar with life abroad, and if you get cheated, you will have nowhere to cry.
Besides, Yan Lin is still young, you as his older sister have to take responsibility.
You’re welco back anyti, there’s always a place for you siblings at your uncle’s ho.”
Listening to Gu Qiang’s hypocritical voice, Gu Yanzhi felt so nauseous he almost vomited his recent al, and irately said, “If you can buy, buy; if not, forget it.
Can’t you understand human speech?
I said everything is up to Zhaozhao.
And Zhaozhao isn’t an outsider, he’s family.”
Then she hung up directly.
Her patience had reached its limit; she couldn’t stand to hear that nauseating voice any longer.
Song Zhao took out his phone and sent Gu Qiang a ssage: [Uncle, I’m only waiting two days for you.
If the money isn’t here in two days, I’m selling the shares to soone else.]
This move infuriated Gu Qiang so much that he swept everything off the desk onto the floor and cursed, “Those two idiots, once I get the shares, I’ll see how I make them suffer.
I won’t let them off easily.”
A Good Night of Sleep
The next day, after a lovely brunch, the three went to Jinxiu Thunderbolt.
The construction team had been contacted in advance and was already waiting outside the residential area.
The units reserved by Jinxiu Thunderbolt were on the 17th and 18th floors, each about 300 square ters.
Initially, Song Zhao had planned one floor as a wedding room and the other for his brother-in-law, keeping the siblings close, but now they would really co in handy.
According to their discussion the day before, the two floors would be connected inside the rooms but separated by the highest quality security doors.
The upper floor was to be the living area with two bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room, and additional spaces for a gym and an entertainnt room to prevent depression from setting in after a long ti.
The rest of the space would be redesigned into storage rooms.
The lower floor was to be converted into a greenhouse and a storeroom.
It was good to stockpile more at ho and grow so vegetables.
The walls inside and outside the building were to be lined with heat insulating, explosion-proof material, and all the glass replaced with the thickest bullet-proof glass available.
The floors and ceiling of the two floors were also to be reinforced and fitted with underfloor heating to prevent any desperate attempts to break in through the walls or roof.
Moreover, a door leading to the rooftop was included in the plans, as both Song Zhao and Gu Yanzhi had pilot licenses; in case of an ergency, they could directly fly away from the rooftop.
Song Zhao also had the decorators asure the doorway to make two reinforced steel doors to be kept at ho; if things got chaotic inside, they could lock down the path to the 17th floor.
The construction team rarely encountered such eccentric custors, demanding the best and most robust materials to withstand smashing, bullets, bombs, and fire and water, practically everything, and to be completed within a month.
But since the custor was paying a generous amount, the team wouldn’t complain, just murmur a bit about the peculiar demands in private.
After finalizing the house renovations, the three split up to begin stockpiling goods according to the plan they had discussed the day before.
In reality, it was Gu Yanlin who was sent away; Gu Yanzhi and Song Zhao still stuck together to stockpile, as Song Zhao did not want Gu Yanzhi out of his sight at all.
