Chapter 401: Let’s get divorce
When Karl didn’t say anything, Gwen slightly pushed him with her hand that rested on his chest, making a distance.
"Tell
how should I not get bothered by her, when I was the sole witness to know what happened that day" Gwen didn’t want to sound pitiful but the images of their naked bodies kept replaying in her mind.
"What happened? Don’t you have anything to say now to defend yourself?" Gwen felt like soone just rubbed salt on her wounds.
"We both know that none of us is going to forget about it, Karl... because it was that mont which ruined our relationship" This ti she pushed him forcefully until he stumbled on his feet.
Tears began to roll down her eyes as she couldn’t contain her anger anymore. Finding her man sleeping with so other woman wasn’t sothing she could endure, because she loved him more than anything.
He was the first boy whom she fell in love with when she didn’t even know what that word ant. But now everything was gone.
Karl remained tongue-tied as he couldn’t speak a word. Everything she said stabbed like a knife into his heart.
Everything she said was the truth but wasn’t there any way to rectify it?
He wanted the ti to turn back where he would erase that mont when they both fought. He wanted to forget that day when he left the Knight’s mansion in fury, but he knew it wasn’t possible.
Letting out a defeated chuckle, Karl laughed at his fate. He stared at Gwen for so ti before he reached his hand and press the resu button with the lift riding down.
Soon the door of the elevator opened and without wasting a second Gwen walked out leaving the defeated Karl behind.
She didn’t want anyone to see her cry so she quickly crossed the lobby and stepped out of the building before hopping into the car
Karl stood there without moving a single inch until the liftman called his na. It was then he realized that he had been standing there for too long.
"Sorry..." apologizing to the man, he quickly stepped out of the lift and marched out of the company’s building.

[Knight Mansion]
Laying on the bed next to Ashley, Tristan caressed her hair as he watched her sleep. It took her a while for her to fully relax as her mind kept wondering about the incident that took place on her way back ho.
As he kept staring at her, he recalled the word she said. His hand instantly stopped moving and he pulled himself up.
Pulling over the duvet, he then climbed down from the bed and stepped out onto the balcony with his phone in his hand.
Making a call he brought the phone close to his ear and heard the bell ring. The mont the call was answered he asked," Did he agree?"
Tristan’s eyes looked ahead far at a distance with coldness lurking within them as he heard the other person speak.
"Okay, make sure no one finds out about it" he instructed and hung up the call.
Clutching the phone into his palm Tristan tried to grasp his thoughts when he heard Ashley call him.
"Tristan..." her sleepy voice snapped him out of his thoughts and he quickly walked inside the room.
Placing the phone on the side table, he imdiately climbed the bed, wrapping his arms around her," I am here" he whispered next to her face and watched her open her eyes.
"Just don’t leave by side okay" he heard her mumbled and within a few seconds she was back to sleeping.
"I won’t" he muttered planting a kiss on her cheeks before drifting off to sleep.

The next morning Noah and Alice drove to visit his father at the hospital. Throughout the drive, Alice seed anxious, thinking about the outco.
"You shouldn’t stress so much babe. Everything is going to be fine" Sitting inside his father’s office Noah tried to calm the extrely nervous Alice.
Alice could only watch him with a worried gaze when suddenly the door opened and Taylor walked in.
"So my daughter-in-law and son are already here," the middle age man said and he made his way to his seat.
Last night, when he received a call from his son, ntioned about the check-up, both Anna and he were overjoyed. They could finally see so progress in their relationship as they expect the results to be positive.
Anna too wanted to join them but an ergency stopped her from coming, so she asked Taylor to inform her of the results the mont they are out.
Alice forced a smile but the old man didn’t fail to notice her anxiousness and quickly said," Let began with the procedure"
Taylor didn’t want to prolong when he saw how concerned his daughter-in-law appeared.
Instructing the nurse, Alice was then taken to the adjacent room where they would perform so tests on her.
After about half an hour when the procedure was done, Alice stepped out.
Sitting next to Noah, they waited for the result.
"Don’t worry dear, everything would be fine" Taylor tried to soothe her nervousness as she smiled back at him weakly.
Ten minutes later the nurse ca with the result as she place them in front of Taylor and imdiately walked out.
As Taylor read the result, his eyes squinted as his face crumpled at what was ntioned.
"What does it say?" Alice asked as she was getting impatient because of the brewing silence.
Noah too noticed the change in his facial expression and asked," Dad, is there anything wrong" his words made Alice look at him.
Her heart raced wildly inside her chest when suddenly Taylor spoke. "Alice dear..."

Thud!...
Locking herself inside the bedroom Alice slumped down like a defeated person. The words Taylor said broke her beyond repair.
’There is minimal chance of your conceiving a child. Your uterus is too weak to bear a baby’
Taylor’s words kept ringing in her mind like a broken tape recorder. Unable to handle those words she soon broke down into tears, clutching her heart as she couldn’t bear the pain.
"Why... why every ti it has to be ..." Alice cried her heart out.
The result clearly ntioned that she couldn’t be a mother. The dream she had been dreaming about shattered in a second.
Outside the room, Noah stood in front of the door as he heard her heart-wrenching cries. he wanted to console her but just like her, even he was beyond devastated.
He too wanted to cry but he couldn’t knowing how much his reaction would end up breaking Alice.
Taking a few deep breaths he tried to compose himself before he raised his hand and knock on the door.
"Alice.. let
in please" his voice cracked as he spoke. Even after mustering the courage to speak he still felt hard.
Alice didn’t answer him and kept crying. She had no strength left within her as her life had turned upside down.
As her mind and body got tired of crying, she slumped into a deep sleep and she passed out on the floor.
Noah stood there listening to her cries and when he couldn’t hear them any further, he freaked.
"Alice.. "calling out her na he knocked on the door.
Worried he quickly got the keys to their bedroom and opened the door. The mont he stepped inside he found Alice lying on the floor.
"Alice..." falling on his knees he picked her up and carried her to the bed.
He first checked her pulse and when he found them normal, Noah then realized she had passed out due to exhaustion.
Sitting next to her, Noah watched how fragile she looked. Her tear-tainted face was evidence of how much she suffered due to the news.
Bending down he kissed those tears as he slowly caressed her hair and said," I am sorry Alice...I couldn’t make you happy"
Noah partially blad himself as he could bear the pain she went through because of him. And now, he wondered how their relationship would change after this one revelation.
Ti passed by with Noah sitting by her side until she finally woke up. The mont she opened her eyes, she was reminded of the hurtful news.
Anger surged in her heart and she jerk away the duvet from her body ready to climb down the bed when a strong hand stopped her from leaving.
"Stay..." Noah’s painful voice stopped her and she turned to the side to face him.
Alice’s eyes grew wide when she noticed how miserable he looked and without any hesitation, she laid back on the bed and this ti facing him.
Alice was so caught up in her pain that she failed to see even Noah had suffered a lot. She only thought about herself but what about him?
How can she leave him...
Silence engulf between the two as no one spoke. Their gaze were enough to communicate their deeper feelings.
"I need to talk to you..."
"Let’s get a divorce.."
