Chapter 137: A Fierce Fight
When soone called them "lizards," any Dragon clan mber with an ounce of pride wouldn’t let that slide.
Right on cue, every Dragon clan student in the room zeroed in on the young cub with icy glares. Their anger was almost visible, thickening the air around them.
But before they could react, an intense psychic power wrapped around them. It was Prince Cassian of the Empire, his glare full of nace.
Only then did the Dragon clan students realize the cub was in the hands of His Highness Cassian. The shock made them go silent instantly.
The leading Dragon clan students exchanged looks and quickly sent a ssage to their pureblood, asking for instructions.
On the battlefield, Kares, who was about to start a fight, nearly choked when he saw the ssage on his opticomputer. With a mix of frustration and resignation, he gritted his teeth and said to Drexel, "Tell your sister to stop calling us ’lizards.’ In return, I’ll make those two Dragon clan exchange students apologize to the Hecaris Military Academy. Otherwise, the Dragon clan won’t let you off."
’A deal like this?’ Drexel raised an eyebrow and agreed, sending a quick ssage to his sister.
"Arix, Kares agreed to have those two exchange students apologize. You can hold off on the insults for now."
Arix replied swiftly. "Okay."
Seeing his sister’s ssage, Drexel smiled slightly. He just had one more thing to handle.
Thinking about it, Drexel looked up at Kares, his usually innocent eyes now fierce and ready for battle.
Kares’ gaze turned cold. He couldn’t touch Arix, but he was determined to make the one in front of him pay.
Their energy flared up at the sa ti. The intense pressure even made Rennes, the referee, frown.
Rennes sighed inwardly, regretting not rejecting the president’s decision to put those two Alliance exchange students in Class S. If he had, they wouldn’t be in this ss. But it was too late for regrets.
Rennes closed his eyes, took a deep breath. Then he abruptly opened them and shouted, "Ready—"
Drexel’s eyes were sharp, and a surge of powerful psychic energy radiated from him. Slowly, an ice-blue spear ford in his hand.
Seeing this, Kares’ eyes narrowed with seriousness. He stopped taking things lightly and imdiately shifted into his beast form.
Kares’ beast form was an awe-inspiring dragon, stretching about ten ters in length.
His body was armored with tough scales. Sharp, conical teeth lined his mouth. His large, round eyes scanned his surroundings.
He had a powerful tail, strong limbs. Though his wings were ridiculously small, almost laughable, his presence was still imposing.
When Kares transford, everyone watching gasped in awe. This was the closest they had ever co to seeing a real dragon, and they were thrilled at their luck to witness it today.
The crowd, caught between terror and excitent, scrambled for their opticomputers to record or livestream the event. Arix, seeing Kares’ beast form, watched the battlefield with rising anxiety, not daring to look away.
"Co on!" Arix thought, clutching her paws tightly and silently praying.
In the dinsion battlefield, Rennes raised his right hand and swung it down sharply, shouting, "Fight!"
At the word, Drexel sprang forward like a bolt of lightning, his ice-blue spear gleaming nacingly like the scythe of death.
Kares moved too, his thick tail whipping toward Drexel like a colossal lash.
Drexel, facing the incoming attack, planted his spear into the ground and launched himself into the air, skillfully avoiding Kares’ strike. Twisting mid-air, he aid his spear straight for Kares’ throat.
Unfazed, Kares reached out with one claw for Drexel and the other for the spear.
Drexel, eyes narrowed, dodged the claw, continuing his relentless spear assault. Each thrust was swift and ruthless, the spear slicing through the air with terrifying precision.
Despite Drexel’s speed and ferocity, Kares’ Supergiant
physical power and tough scales withstood the assault. Drexel’s spear could only leave marks on the scales, failing to break through and cause significant damage.
Determined, Drexel poured more psychic power into his spear, making it colder and sharper.
Kares’ expression grew serious as Drexel managed to cut a gash on his left arm.
Breathing heavily from the exertion, Drexel smiled at the sight of the wound. He intensified his attacks, his spear movents growing even more vicious and rapid.
Under Drexel’s relentless onslaught, Kares’ body soon bore nurous wounds of various sizes.
However, Drexel’s own condition wasn’t any better. The ferocity of his attacks was taking its toll.
Because of his relentless offense, Drexel’s defense was weak, and although he dodged as best he could, Kares’ claws still managed to pierce him in several places, leaving bloody holes.
Yet, at this point, both fighters were in a frenzy, completely ignoring their injuries. They focused solely on defeating each other.
Their intense battle turned the dinsion battlefield into a grueso scene.
Blood and scales rained down like a storm, creating pools of blood and scattered scales on the ground. The sight of flesh-laden scales and large bloodstains shocked the spectators outside the battlefield.
The students of Class S, in particular, were horrified. They swallowed nervously as they watched the brutal fight.
One single thought now occupied all their minds: This year, they must avoid provoking the Alliance exchange students. Drexel, just like Kares, was a maniacal fighter!
Ever since Drexel got injured, Arix’s eyes had been red, fixed on the dinsional battlefield.
As the ground filled with more blood and scales, the sight of the glaring red made Arix’s heart feel like it was being stabbed repeatedly, causing an instant, wrenching pain.
The intense pain made the light in her eyes gradually fade, turning into confusion.
In the end, her eyes were vacant, staring blankly at the battlefield, her mouth mumbling unconsciously, "Drexel... stop fighting... stop... stop..."
The deafening noise around them drowned out Arix’s whispers, so no one noticed her condition.
Cassian, worried that the scene would overwhelm Arix, reached out to cover her eyes and finally noticed sothing was wrong.
"Arix?" Cassian realized that Arix didn’t react at all when he covered her eyes, instantly sensing that sothing was off.
"Arix! What’s wrong!" Cassian picked Arix up and saw her vacant eyes.
"Arix! Can you hear ?"
"Arix, wake up!"
