Chapter 120: Guests From The Alliance

Morkai spent a long ti deep in thought, trying to co up with an answer. Just when he was about to give up, a small cub popped into his mind.

He sat quietly for a bit, then quickly opened his opticomputer and typed "Arix" into the search bar. In seconds, loads of info about Arix filled the virtual screen. ’But why are all the profile pictures blacked out?’

Frowning, Morkai clicked on an introduction about Arix on the interstellarnet.

Arix, female, a citizen of the Alliance from Hecaris, held the rank of Student Officer in the Fifth Legion.

Born in Hecaris’ capital, she faced an insectoid invasion during a training competition in September 3098. To save her classmates, she fought fearlessly until she was sucked into a black hole and sacrificed herself.

Key Achievents:

- Third lady of the Kering family, one of the five major families.

- Ranked in the top 10 in the entrance exams of the Alliance’s five military academies.

- Single-handedly sealed a wormhole in Hecaris’ capital until the Fifth Legion arrived.

- Major researcher and inventor of the psychic power healing potion.

- Posthumously awarded the highest honor dal of the Alliance by the President.

"Dead? Could the cub just have the sa na?" Morkai frowned, drumming his fingers on the table.

"No!" He suddenly sat up straight. "There might be many nad Arix, but a Tiger clan cub nad Arix? There can only be one... My niece Fleur! She married a Kering and her kid’s nad Arix!" Morkai’s eyes lit up with excitent.

"No wonder she could save Torvak. Soone who invented psychic power healing potions could easily handle such a minor illness," Morkai finally realized.

The na Arix in the potion world signifies soone who overca psychic power terminal illness. When the psychic power healing potion first appeared, it astonished many potion masters across the Empire too. Even the Master Chemist of the Empire wanted to visit Arix in the Alliance.

Among these admirers was Morkai himself. He never expected the person he always wanted to et was now in the clan!

Morkai felt like a fan about to et their idol, both nervous and thrilled. Though Arix was his, well, grandniece, he couldn’t act superior. In the chemistry world, the rule is that the accomplished ones are the teachers, and his granddaughter Arix was definitely far ahead of him.

And what’s a little loss of dignity compared to this? Others would jump at the chance!

The more he thought about it, the more excited he got. Morkai imdiately stood up to find Arix and ask her about the problems that had puzzled him for so long. But as soon as he stepped out the door, he realized he didn’t know where the cub lived.

After a long mont of silence, Morkai closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and then video-called Scion.

"Uncle Morkai," Scion greeted, answering the video call as usual.

Morkai hesitated, feeling awkward. Revealing soone’s secret was tough, especially in front of Scion.

After a long silence, Scion’s eyebrows started to knit together, clearly getting impatient.

Morkai knew he had to speak up now or miss his chance. "Uh... where does my grandniece, Arix, live? I need to talk to her about sothing," he asked, trying to sound casual.

Scion looked surprised at the ntion of Arix but quickly masked his reaction. "She’s here, resting. Now isn’t a good ti."

Seeing Scion’s expression that clearly warned, ’If you wake her, you’ll regret it,’ Morkai swallowed the rest of his words and tried to change the subject. "By the way, given Arix’s contributions to the Alliance, why haven’t they sent anyone to bring her back?"

Scion’s face darkened slightly. "They have."

Morkai’s curiosity was piqued. "Who is it?" he asked eagerly.

Scion remained silent, his expression cold.

Morkai could barely contain his amusent. It was rare to see Scion at a loss. Trying to hold back his laughter, he cleared his throat. "Well, I have so things to do. I’ll hang up now."

Without waiting for Scion’s response, Morkai ended the call and burst into laughter. The sound echoed through his room.

As the day turned into afternoon, Arix, who had been sleeping soundly on Scion’s bed, finally woke up, yawning in satisfaction.

"Mm." Arix sat up, rubbing her eyes with her paws. When she lowered her paws, she saw an unexpected face.

She quickly rubbed her eyes again, muttering, "I must still be dreaming. How else would I see Drexel, that skunk?"

"Who are you calling a skunk?" Drexel’s eyes narrowed dangerously, his tone threatening.

Arix froze, lowering her paws and studying Drexel carefully. She confird she wasn’t seeing things.

With a shocked expression, Arix held her face in her paws. "Drexel! What are you doing in the Empire?!"

"What do you an by that? Am I not welco here?" Drexel crossed his arms, lifting his chin and huffing coldly.

His stern facade lasted only a few seconds before he switched to a mischievous grin. He picked up Arix and nuzzled her head enthusiastically, laughing like a happy fool. "And if I hadn’t co to the Empire, how could I see my sister’s beast form? Huh! Just as adorable as I imagined!"

Arix, still groggy, was caught off guard and nuzzled several tis by Drexel before she could react. Instantly, she felt a wave of reluctance and struggled to push him away with her front paws, trying to pry his face off her.

"Drexel, enough already! How old are you? This is gross!" Arix was utterly repulsed, wishing her neck could stretch just a bit longer to keep her distance from Drexel’s face. Seriously, nuzzling? Stay away!

After a series of intense struggles, Drexel’s face was left covered in scratches. He looked at Arix with a pitiful expression, clearly feeling wronged.

All he wanted was to be close to his little sister, and yet he ended up getting beaten. ’I got to be the most unfortunate brother in the universe?’

After pinning Drexel down, Arix took a mont to smooth her ruffled fur.

Once satisfied, she lifted her chin coolly and asked, "Alright, spill it. What are you really doing in the Empire?"

"Obviously, I missed you," Drexel said with a grin. But Arix’s unimpressed look made him cough awkwardly and add, "Okay, that’s part of it. The main reason I’m here is to protect you for the Alliance."

"But hasn’t the Hecaris Military Academy already started? Won’t this ss with your studies?" Arix tilted her head, puzzled.

"No worries. I am a genius, and you know that. Studying is easy for ," Drexel bragged.

Arix rolled her eyes and swatted at him. "Be serious!"

"Fine, fine. No need to get rough. You’ve been hanging out with Cirilla too much, turning into a real tomboy," Drexel muttered.

Under Arix’s narrowing gaze, Drexel finally gave in and explained, "I can understand you in your beast form, so Mom sent

to test our bloodline and join you in receiving the Moon Goddess’s blessing."

"Oh, right. I forgot you can understand beast form talk," Arix said, realizing. Then she asked, "Do you have a beast form?"

"Nope, but I’ve got beastly instincts. Does that count?" Drexel joked, letting out a playful howl.

"Get lost!" Arix retorted, rolling her eyes.

Despite the banter, Arix was genuinely happy to see her brother. Having family in a foreign land brought a sense of security, making Arix feel more at ease. It was like walking on a high wire and finally having soone to share the journey with.

But this mont of comfort didn’t last long. Suddenly, a pile of textbooks appeared in front of Arix.

Arix was puzzled.

"Oh, I almost forgot. Arix, these are the textbooks from your school. This opticomputer is for your online classes. Here’s your previous opticomputer and Space Button. Also, you haven’t chosen your major yet, so the president wants to discuss it with you," Drexel said, contacting Gunder and connecting a translator to avoid any communication issues.

’Wait, hold on! I haven’t decided on a major yet!’ Arix scread internally, but before she could react, the virtual screen lit up with the smiling face of President Gunder.
