Chapter 83: A Unique Style of Battle

As Yuri finished off the swarm of insectoids surrounding her, the ground had descended into complete chaos. The overwhelming numbers of insectoids made human warriors, restricted to cold weapons and weak heat firearms, severely disadvantaged.

Yuri cast a quick glance around her. Not far off, Ender, Daleks, and Kilana were entangled in combat with first-level insectoids, gradually gaining the upper hand. Hoolin and Tyrone, equipped with their upgraded new cha suits, were showing increasing courage in the face of danger.

When Yuri’s gaze landed on a red-green cha in the distance, she sneered and remarked, "No wonder it got away so quickly."

The male-styled red-green cha was at that mont astride the neck of a fourth-level insectoid. One hand gripped the creature’s horn while the other ford a fist, hamring into the beast’s skull.

Witnessing this, Yuri once again appreciated the savage nature of heat-period alpha—brutal and ruthless.

On the street below, a first-level insectoid descended from the sky. Its massive body, easily weighing four tons, squashed a passerby into a bloody pancake, their skull shattered and brain matter splattered. Seemingly uninterested in such "food" for its lack of freshness, it ignored the corpse and instead reached out its claw to snatch a fleeing, burly man, delighting in his despair and terror as it prepared to feed.

Just as its "al" was about to reach its mouth, the insectoid’s claw froze.

The grotesque insectoid roared and turned to see what was restraining its claw. It was a black whip.

The insectoid used its other claw to grip the whip, pulling fiercely in an attempt to break it. Simultaneously, the master of the whip applied their own force.

The hefty insectoid was reeled in like a fish, then violently hurled onto the ground. Its claw, once clutching the man, was neatly severed by a silent, swift dagger.

The man, suddenly freed, tumbled a few tis, got up, and fled. He only dared look back once he was a safe distance away, his gaze landing on the red-green cha. Huh, why does that cha look so familiar? I’ve seen it sowhere before.

Nurous insectoids were obstructing the path to the shelters. Yuri, in the red-green cha, leaped onto rooftops, lamp posts, even the awnings of bus stops. From these vantage points, she wielded a black tal whip, lassoing the insectoids by their necks and flinging them away.

Sharp-eyed bystanders noticed that every ti the whip left an insectoid’s neck, it was cleanly severed into two. How’s this even possible? These are creatures that small cannons can barely harm!

The onlookers were astonished and thrilled, but also slightly fearful, afraid they might be split in two if the whip ever touched them.

However, it seed their fears were unfounded. The whip appeared to possess so sort of automatic identification functionality, targeting only insectoids and leaving human clothing untouched.

It was such a comforting sense of safety. The people felt reassured. They disregarded everything else and sprinted toward the shelter without looking back.

Yuri continued her path, leaping along the road and "cleaning" the streets. Her unique and fluid combat style was gradually drawing attention.

"Mommy, is the red-green cha fishing?" a little girl, about two or three years old, asked her mother.

Her mother glanced quickly at the cha and humd an affirmation, hugging her daughter as they continued to run.

"These insectoids are really weak. When I see grandpa fishing, the fish thrash about so much, unlike these things, which don’t even move." The little girl’s innocent voice was filled with scorn.

Her mother, upon hearing this, couldn’t help but reply, "It’s not that the ’fish’ aren’t strong, it’s that the ’fisherman’ is too powerful."

The little girl widened her naive eyes and said, "Oh, I see."

Not just the passersby, but the warriors as well took notice of this cha.

"Who is that? Such a combat style is outrageous."

"What material is that black whip made of? It’s so formidable."

"Is it a new weapon?"

"Put the whip aside for a mont, guys, focus on its strength. It’s casually flinging four to five thousand pounds of insectoids around. Is this sothing an ordinary cha can do?"

"Don’t even talk about level one, level two or three can’t do it either."

"The question is, how does it exert such force without damaging the pillars and awnings it’s stepping on?"

"Godlike."

....

The battle lasted from midnight to dawn. By this ti, almost no human figures could be seen on the ground; the citizens of Planet 165 had all taken refuge underground.

The first and second level insectoids were almost entirely wiped out, and only a few of the third and fourth level remained. But the six fifth-level insectoids remained unscathed.

"Switch to heavy artillery." the commander ordered.

"Sir, what’s the highest level of artillery we can use?" a soldier asked.

"Level six." The commander gritted his teeth. This was the highest firepower allowed for use on a planet by the Alliance regulations.

A thunderous explosion sounded, and countless buildings collapsed in an instant, dust filling the sky.

It was all a blur.

In the grey haze, the red-green cha was nowhere to be seen. The third-level insectoid sighed with relief, thinking it could finally take a breather. That red-green cha is too hard to handle. What it didn’t know was that it wasn’t about to rest, but rather, to die.

A sharp steel blade silently erged from the ground, fast and furious, piercing through the insectoid’s abdon and out through its back. Not content with just that, the wide blade made a complete twist within its body—

As the insectoid fell, Yuri calmly sheathed her blade and left the scene, seeking her next target.

A few more hours passed, and when the last fourth-level insectoid fell, only four fifth-level insectoids remained on Planet 165.

The red-green cha that had been fighting for ten hours collapsed on the roadside from exhaustion.

"Tuss?" Yuri asked, biting a Nutrient Fluid with fatigue.

Tuss replied hoarsely, "Still alive."

Yuri chuckled, "I didn’t ask if you were alive. You fight like a man possessed. With that reckless style, I thought you didn’t want to live anymore."

"Of course not." Tuss countered, then went on to say as if seeking approval, "Yuri, I killed six third-level insectoids and three fourth-level insectoids."

"So many." Yuri was surprised. There were even three of the fourth-level insectoids.

"Not that many." Tuss said humbly. He did the math: one fourth-level insectoid was worth twenty million, so three amounted to sixty million. The third-level insectoids were priced lower, only a few million each, and six amounted to just ten million, making a total of seventy million. And this was the price assuming the insectoids were in perfect condition.

"I didn’t kill a single fourth-level insectoid today." Yuri lanted sowhat. The majority of what she killed were first and second level insectoids, probably numbering in the thousands. There were also a dozen or so third-level insectoids.

"But you saved a lot of people today." Tuss said proudly, "They’re all talking about you on the public channel."

"What are they saying about ?" Yuri asked, opening the public channel.

The public channel was accessible to any nearby cha or warplane, as long as you wished to join. The military also had their own channel, which only those in the military could access.

As soon as Yuri opened the public channel, she heard Tyrone’s voice asking, "Tuz, where’s Yuri?"

"I’m here, what do you need?" Yuri answered.

"Ah, big sis, finally you show up. What’s your whip made of? Is it so new technology from the Alliance? Could you get one for ?"

"Big sis, you look so cool when you’re wielding your whip. Could you also order one for ?"
