Chapter 152: Staying Alive for Her
The Alliance’s chas retreated as if trying to escape.
"Hey, you guys from the Alliance are so disgraceful," yelled the soldier from the Empire.
In the next second, they realized sothing was wrong.
The insectoid queen had stopped.
Inside Hill’s cha, Jira’s eyes widened as she exclaid, "Watch out, she’s about to unleash a psychic attack. Run, everyone run!"
But it was too late.
Before Jira could finish her warning, the psychic wave from the level eight insectoid queen had surged forward, like a tidal wave, attacking the closest alpha who promptly bled from every orifice, dying with eyes wide open—
Jira hastily used her psychic power to shield Hill, but there was no ti to help the others.
Even so, Hill stumbled montarily, and quickly controlled his cha to dodge.
"The Alliance is too crafty, only caring for their own escape, not even a warning for us," Hill gritted his teeth. He was about to ask his niece why she hadn’t noticed earlier when he saw blood gushing from her ears. Panicking, he said, "Jira, you’re bleeding! Use a d-kit."
Jira slumped to the floor, injecting herself with a healing serum. "Uncle Hill, don’t worry about , focus on the insectoid queen. I guess she can only unleash such a psychic wave after a certain period. We must kill her before she releases the next one."
"I’ll try my best," Hill replied, his face turning pale. The level-eight insectoid queen’s outer skin was tougher than a battleship. Hurting it was going to be a tough task.
Leaning against the inner wall of the cha, Jira’s blue eyes flickered. She logged into the Alliance’s interstellar network using an account she had registered previously. She started a live broadcast.
Having plenty of astrocredits, she bought herself the number one recomndation slot.
Jira pointed her cara at the level eight insectoid queen, then at herself, saying, "I’m Jira from the Empire, an SSS-tier beta, currently on the border battlefield between the Alliance and the Empire. Our enemy is the powerful level-eight insectoid queen. A minute ago, her psychic wave instantly killed thousands of high-ranking alphas from the Empire."
Pausing, Jira smiled bitterly, "But don’t worry, you guys from the Alliance ran fast, so you should be safe."
"This is my uncle, an SSS-tier alpha, he also couldn’t withstand the psychic wave from the level eight insectoid queen." Jira panned her cara to Hill, showing only a handso side profile of his serious face.
Then, Jira aid her cara back at the level-eight insectoid queen, saying, "Yuri, as a princess of the Empire, I bravely face the battlefield for the people of the Empire, for the soldiers of the Empire. What about you?"
Daleks, who was in the middle of his physical education class at school, logged into the interstellar network during a water break, and imdiately saw Jira’s live broadcast.
"Damn, it’s Jira again," Daleks frowned, "We can’t let Yuri find out."
"The situation on the battlefield doesn’t look good," Vernon chid in, "Is Jira telling the truth or lying? A thousand high-ranking alphas from the Empire were instantly killed, but what about the Alliance?"
Ender walked over, his face grim, "Sergeant Ryu said Yuri left for the battlefield two days ago."
Daleks’ eyes widened as he exclaid, "Couldn’t he just stop her?"
Ender gave him a cold stare, "Could you?"
Daleks shook his head, replying, "What can we do then? That’s a level-eight insectoid queen. Look at Jira, covered in blood, it shows how dangerous the battlefield is. No, I have to persuade Yuri."
When Daleks’ ssage arrived, Yuri’s hologram was still in Tuss’s cha.
"Skipped class today?" Yuri’s tone was nonchalant.
However, Daleks spotted Tuss’s pale face and the blood on his lips and blurted, "What happened?"
"I was communicating with him, and then you stepped in," Yuri said, glancing at Daleks. He realized not just Daleks was there, but also a bunch of students from the cha combat departnt’s first class.
Daleks, finally catching on, said, "So, you’re not on-site yet?"
Yuri checked his distance and replied, "I’ll be there soon. I’ve set my cha to maximum speed. I estimate it’ll take about four more hours."
Daleks, with a gloomy face, pleaded, "How about turning back?"
Vernon chid in, "Yuri, don’t let Jira provoke you. Her goal is to lure you to the scene."
Yuri looked surprised, "What’s wrong with Jira?"
Vernon: "...."
Daleks smacked Vernon’s head and shouted, "You just made things worse."
Vernon also felt aggrieved, saying, "I didn’t know Yuri was still in the dark. Anyway, if Tuss isn’t advising Yuri, what’s the use of us doing it?"
Tuss glanced at Vernon and said, "No need to advise."
Ender changed the subject, "Just now, Jira ntioned that the psychic wave of the level-eight insectoid queen instantly wiped out thousands of high-ranking alphas from the Empire. How’s the situation for the Alliance?"
"We ran fast, nobody died. But our Sea of Consciousness is unstable, and everyone is in line waiting for treatnt," Tuss answered.
Upon hearing this, Ender and the others felt a temporary relief.
When Tuss and his crew retreated, on the Alliance’s side, those facing the insectoid queen switched to Martin and another SS-tier alpha, plus two small battleships.
"Your cha is broken, you need to take it back to the battleship for repairs. If that doesn’t work, switch to another one," Yuri reminded Tuss.
Tuss humd in agreent, swallowing the tallic sweetness in his mouth.
"Wait for
to arrive, alive." Yuri ended the communication after saying these words.
"Okay." Tuss spoke, unable to hold back the blood in his throat any longer, he spat it out.
Once Tuss boarded the battleship, he entered the cha repair room equipped with a dozen cha engineers.
Upon seeing the red and green cha, they surrounded it saying, "Your cha is severely damaged, many parts need to be replaced. After the replacent, it may not perform as well as before."
"It’s okay. Go ahead and replace them. I’m sorry for the trouble," Tuss replied. He took out a healing pod, placed it in the corner of the room, and laid down in it. "Wake
up when the cha is fixed."
"Alright, no problem."
Martin and the other SS-tier alpha couldn’t hold on for much longer. Boan, who had just undergone the Sea of Consciousness treatnt by Astra and others, had to step in again.
His first attack wasn’t aid at the level eight insectoid queen, but at Hill’s cha.
Hill was caught off guard, falling down and tumbling over.
"Boan, we’re allies!" Hill roared.
Boan huffed, "I don’t need an ally who stabs
in the back."
Hill fell silent, feeling guilty.
When Boan made his awkward retreat back to the battleship, Tuss’s cha was ready. Boan clapped Tuss on the shoulder and said, "You go and hold the line, I’ll take a break in the healing pod."
Tuss grunted in acknowledgnt and was about to head out when soone called out, "Tuss, do you need a Sea of Consciousness treatnt?"
Tuss, without breaking stride, responded, "No need."
Zenitha watched Tuss’s retreating figure with a trace of disappointnt crossing her face. She remained lost in thought until Tuss was out of sight, then sighed and turned away.
Boan, who had been silently watching, raised an eyebrow, "Tuss may not need it, but I do. Thanks for the trouble."
Faced with Boan’s teasing expression, Zenitha felt her cheeks heat up. She bowed her head and mumbled, "No, no trouble, it’s my duty."
