Chapter 86: Chapter 86: Turns out she was overthinking

Chapter 86

In Chloe Collins’ impression, the kitchen was basically unrelated to this man, so the current scene made her sowhat surprised.

She walked over, glanced at the boiling pot, and reminded, "The noodles are not cooked yet."

"They’re cooked." Alexander Foster lowered his head to stir the noodles, ready to fish them out.

Chloe instinctively reached out and pressed the back of his hand, "Almost, wait for another two minutes."

The man’s eyes fell on her delicate and tender fingers, and his throat rolled a little.

He could feel the slight coolness of her fingertips, mixed with the damp steam, seeping into his skin.

Three seconds later, he restrained the undercurrent in his eyes, shifted his gaze away, and slowly stirred the noodles.

Chloe had already removed her hand, her eyes now focused on his chopped ingredients, seemingly regretful.

"What are you looking at?" He asked lightly.

"No carrots." She raised her eyebrows, her regret very evident.

"Do you like them?" Alexander Foster’s gaze appeared unintentional as it landed on her face.

The next mont, he saw the girl’s lifted face.

She said, "Noodles and carrots are a pair, lacking one makes it a bit weird."

"Carrots are the source of strange taste." He said.

Chloe nodded noncommittally, said nothing, and left.

Alexander Foster wanted to say sothing but stopped, his eyes following her figure, then looked back at the noodles he cooked, lost in thought.

During Chloe’s walk, she encountered Evelyn Thompson, who was exercising in the morning.

She casually picked up a tree branch and began her daily morning training in the temple.

As Evelyn Thompson spun, she said, "Chlo-Chlo, have you had breakfast made by Brother Xian yet?"

"He’s still making it."

Evelyn Thompson’s smile overflowed as she twisted her waist and said, "This child is so filial, every year on this day, he will cook personally, rembering his grandma’s kindness."

"When little Alex was young, his father and I were too busy to care for him, so his grandma took care of him most of the ti. Grandma was a foodie and loved cooking so much that she wanted to train him as her successor."

She laughed and continued, "Although this child was not interested in cooking, he would occasionally help the old woman with cooking and such. After she passed away, he would personally cook for her every year on the anniversary of her passing."

Hearing this, Chloe finished her last move, collected her legs, and straightened up.

Thoughts lingered beneath her sweaty forehead.

So his "by the way" just now was true, it was indeed just by the way.

"Chlo-Chlo, what are you daydreaming about?" Evelyn Thompson approached, wiping her sweat.

Chloe ca back to her senses and smiled faintly, "Nothing, I was just overthinking."

It was the first ti her sixth sense had made a mistake.

"What did you overthink?"

Looking at the Samoyed jumping around in the distance, Chloe said, "Well...I thought he...liked ."

She was used to analyzing and judging things, a habit that had seeped into her bones.

The man’s certain actions and words led her to instinctively make judgnts about what the motives were behind those things.

Then, she ca to a conclusion this morning.

Unexpectedly, she was overthinking.

But it was not a rare thing, she was not a deity, and she couldn’t always guess correctly every ti.

She didn’t think about it any further and soon forgot about it.

Evelyn Thompson followed her gaze and laughed, "Of course it likes you, it’s unquestionable. When our Samoyed encounters soone it doesn’t like, it won’t even get close. Look, it’s running towards you now."

Chloe didn’t say anything else, just crouched down and smoothed the fur of the dog that ca running to her.

The fluffy big guy was very cute.

Suddenly she noticed that it was holding sothing in its mouth.

It was a card.

Four words were written on it with a marker: Co back to eat.
