Chapter 62: Chapter 62: Soone is chasing her

Chapter 62

After finishing her work, Chloe Collins went back to Harville Temple to visit Master Songya.

The tranquility of the mountain relaxed her nerves.

She lay on a swinging bed under a tree for over an hour.

Before she left the mountain, her master escorted her to the temple entrance.

Handing her the Amulet of Blessing, he said, "I specially made this for Nineteen, please deliver it to him."

Chloe looked at the amulet in her palm and clenched her fist around it, "I understand."

Her master laughed, "Then I’ll wait for you to bring him back for my birthday celebration."

"For sure."

Master Songya laughed so hard that his eyes crinkled. "Very well. With your promise, I can rest assured. Go on, be careful."

When Chloe descended the mountain, it was evening, and the sky was filled with a brilliant sunset.

"Boss, are you hungry? Which restaurant do you feel like eating at?"

Not getting a response from Chloe, he thought she had fallen asleep. But, when he turned around he realized she was looking at her phone.

Then, he received a phone call and attended to it attentively.

Chloe stared at the ssage from Lilian Pearce and pondered over it.

[Ms. Pearce: Chlo-Chlo, I made so dishes, and your brother is back too. Co over for dinner.]

Chloe thought about it and decided to accept since she had nothing else to do later.

Just then, Heijii suddenly slamd the brakes.

Chloe tightened her grip on her phone and looked up, "What’s going on?"

"Boss, it’s Layla Lowell’s call for help. Soone’s chasing her."

Chloe frowned, "What did she say?"

"She agreed to cooperate as long as we protect her laboratory."

Chloe’s lips curved upwards at how quickly things had turned around. With a aningful glance at Heijii, she asked, "What did you do?"

Heijii shrugged, "Boss, I’m innocent. I didn’t do anything. Those guys aren’t my guys. You know we investigated earlier and found soone was watching her."

"Just kidding, why are you so worked up?" Chloe raised her eyebrows, her tone teasing.

Heijii wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, "Please don’t joke around, Boss. With people like you, jokes can turn deadly."

"Send so n over there."

"Understood."

It took Heijii over an hour of speeding to reach the scene, which was quite far away.

But at the scene, a fight had also lasted over an hour before it was finally over.

The incident took place in a forest on the outskirts of the city, with no signs of human habitation nearby.

When the two arrived, they saw three parked cars. One had collided with a tree and its hood was dented. Another car’s hood had been popped open and was billowing smoke, while the last one appeared intact, but its front end had stopped right at the edge of a cliff.

Fortunately, the car door was already open, and the people inside had gotten out.

Not far from the cars, the injured Layla Lowell sat on a patch of ground covered with clothes, surrounded by ten tall and fierce-looking n.

Only when Chloe’s car appeared did the eleven people turn their heads to look.

As they got out of the car and approached, the ten n imdiately ford a path, all of them bowing their heads obediently.

Layla Lowell couldn’t imagine that this neatly dressed, long-haired and pretty girl standing in front of her could be the boss of this group of n.

"I’ve thought it through..."

"No rush." Chloe gave her a light smile and signaled to soone nearby to help Layla stand up. "Let’s go back to Miss Lowell’s house and discuss business."

Heijii’s face changed slightly, but he soon understood and imdiately ordered soone to take Layla into the car.

Afterward, Chloe and Heijii also returned to their car.

Within minutes, the group left this secluded area.

The scene shifted to a hidden, dark alley where a car was parked.
