Chapter 550: Chapter 550: Compared to her, benefits are worthless.
Chapter 550
Albert Green’s eyes flashed and he looked down, not saying anything for a long ti.
He silently drank a cup of tea, feeling it devoid of flavor.
"Since you know about the experint, you must know your aunt’s role in it. Back then, she had control of..."
He suddenly stopped, his face full of sorrow. After thinking for a mont, he continued, "Actually, I still think it’s more appropriate for Chlo-Chlo to tell you this herself. As for what happened back then, I can only tell you that Chlo-Chlo accidentally ingested the new dicine during that ti, causing her strange illness. Now we are going all out to develop a drug that can combat BRD-2. We don’t think about anything else."
Alex, "What are you worried about?"
Albert Green was no longer as nervous as earlier. Since it had co to this, he resigned to his fate, and he was fortunate it was Alexander Foster who made him talk, not soone else.
As for Alex’s character, he did believe in it.
He said, "This can’t be considered as my worry. I don’t speak up about it because I feel I’m not qualified to talk about this matter. Chlo-Chlo didn’t ntion it from the beginning, and there must be her own intentions. If I bring it up rashly, I’m worried she will get angry."
He gave a faint smile, "But, this matter has nothing to do with you. It’s sothing from the previous generation, and there’s no use for you to pursue it."
Alex fell into deep thought.
"The Nightingale Club on the outskirts, is it your base for experints?"
Knowing that he couldn’t hide it, Albert Green didn’t deny it.
"The Lowell’s child, what does she have to do with this?"
Albert Green: "Her teacher was once a mber of our experint team. After her teacher’s death, we could only ask her to co back and help."
Alex’s face showed no surprise, as if he had expected this.
Albert Green glanced at him and suddenly pursed his lips.
Alex’s expression was gentle: "Dr. Green, feel free to speak."
Albert Green glanced at him again and said solemnly, "There are rumors that Mr. Foster is ruthless and cold-hearted. For the sake of profits, he neglects any sentints."
Alex chuckled softly, seemingly denying this rumor.
He said, "Compared to her, profits are worthless."
Albert Green fell into silence for a long ti, stuffing tasteless pastries in his mouth absent-mindedly and sighed, "The most unreliable thing in the world is love."
Having lived up to this age, he had seen too many couples beco enemies. Therefore, he had always believed that love is unreliable unless there is sothing else to hold it together.
He confird this thought and still felt it was better to hold sothing back. He said, "I can only say so much about this matter. I won’t say anything to Chlo-Chlo for now. I hope, Mr. Foster, don’t disappoint . Although Chlo-Chlo doesn’t say it, based on my understanding of her, you hold a special position in her heart that is different from others. I dare not say how important you are, but you must be a very special existence to her."
After saying this, he raised three fingers and swore, "I’m not trying to deceive you. If it weren’t for this, she would have used you without any hesitation, and she wouldn’t have any concerns."
These words cheered Alex up.
He took a sip of tea and said, "I understand."
Albert Green heaved a sigh of relief, then continued, "I think the reason why she isn’t willing to directly ask for your help is that she’s afraid of owing you. She isn’t soone who would lose her mind over personal affairs. Before she’s clear about her own heart, she won’t say anything recklessly."
Alex: "You seem to understand her quite well."
Albert Green smiled faintly, "To say I understand her, I do know a bit about her personality. To say I don’t, I have no idea how she lived through these past years. Well, that’s it."
The conversation ended quickly.
Albert Green’s mood was complicated. On one hand, he felt relieved, and on the other hand, he had worries.
As he said, he didn’t tell Chloe Collins about this.
