Chapter 412: Chapter 412: Giving Gifts
Chapter 412
Layla reacted for a second before exclaiming, "Heijii?"
Chloe Collins nodded.
A hint of admiration appeared in Layla’s eyes, "What kind of level is he at in there?"
Chloe replied, "There’s no level differentiation in there, everyone has their fields of expertise, and they all know a bit of other people’s specialties. Chad Lowell’s work is different from theirs; he isn’t responsible for connecting with guests, his main duties are managent and liaison."
Layla’s eyelids drooped, "So... like a boss’s secretary position?"
Chloe blinked, "You can say that."
Layla: "Oh... it’s quite amazing; a person working two jobs, being your bodyguard on one side and dealing with Fire’s matters on the other side, ordinary people really can’t do it."
"And he also opened a company, right?"
She vaguely rembered hearing other people call Chad Lowell "Boss Lowell."
Chloe replied, "Um...yes."
Layla instantly took out her phone and fiddled with it for a while.
"What are you doing?"
"Sending him a ssage to express my admiration."
Chloe just smiled without saying anything.
The topic they had just talked about made the atmosphere heavy, and Chloe couldn’t eat too much.
The remaining food, she put in the fridge, planning to reheat it and eat it tonight.
With Layla here, she wouldn’t return to the Fosters’ house for now.
Unexpectedly, Evelyn Thompson called her with an eager tone, "Chlo-Chlo, Aunt Evelyn made you lots of delicious food, can you co back for dinner tonight?"
Chloe was about to refuse, but she found it hard to say it out loud.
She could imagine Evelyn’s warm smile, her eyes full of eager anticipation.
"Aunt Evelyn, I have so things to do here, a friend of mine has hurt her foot, and I’m looking after her."
"Hurt her foot?" Evelyn was startled, "Quickly tell Aunt Evelyn, what happened?"
Chloe spoke lightly, "She cut the back of her foot on so glass shards, probably can’t walk for several days."
"How can that be? In that case, bring your friend back with you, and we’ll all take care of her together. I’m free anyway."
"Don’t be shy; you guys are still kids after all, your focus should be on your studies."
Chloe was grateful but refused in the end considering Layla’s situation.
Living in soone else’s house would be sowhat uncomfortable.
Layla felt especially apologetic, "I’m sorry, Chloe, for causing you trouble."
Chloe glanced at her, "Oh."
Layla chuckled.
"I wonder if my foot will heal by Saturday."
"Why?"
"I want to go to an auction. If I can’t walk, it’ll be troubleso."
Hearing the word auction, Chloe suddenly rembered sothing.
She said, "The charity auction held by the Oasis Charity Organization?"
"Yes, are you following it as well?"
Chloe: "Yeah, following."
She had even sent sothing to be sold there.
Collecting her thoughts, she looked down at Layla’s swollen, bandaged foot and said, "You should be able to."

On Monday morning, Chloe and Wanda Wesley went looking for Vanessa Brooke to review for the Chemistry competition finals according to the schedule.
Before they even entered, they slled a strong scent of perfu, very familiar.
Wanda sneezed.
Chloe looked down at her, "Are you allergic to perfu?"
Wanda was quite embarrassed, "It depends on the situation; so will... achoo!"
Before she finished her sentence, she sneezed again.
The two people inside turned their heads at the sound, the pleasure on their faces fading.
Raine Nolan ignored them and continued telling Vanessa Brooke, "Teacher, this set is perfect for use in winter."
She was holding a box that contained three bottles of perfu.
The packaging was exquisite and beautiful, precisely Redolence’s "Tree Essence" perfu.
